Well it sure has been a while since I have posted on my blog. I believe I am going to start posting again starting today. I will try to have one once a week. I am not making any promises. As we enter this new year I have had alot on my mind. We are have celebrated four years at JBC this was in September. God has been good. We are once again at crossroads at the church. There isn't any problems as far as I know but I believe a Spirit of Complacency as entered in the church. One thing that helps me is to know we aren't the only one going through it. So I want to blog for a couple of minutes on this thought A Spirit of Complacency.
Websters definition:

: self-satisfaction especially when accompanied by unawareness of actual dangers or deficiencies

: an instance of usually unaware or uninformed self-satisfaction

You say what you mean preacher. I mean we have become satisfied where we are in Our Walk, Our Worship, Our Witness. As the preacher said yesterday we ought not be satisfied with where we are Spiritually until our feet our on the street of God. I believe that is the truth. The more I get in my Bible and Study the more I know I don't know much at all. People are satisfied with where their church is at. I will give you a couple of reasons how this is entering our churches.

I A Lack of Faithfulness
Not only to the church services which I still believe you ought to be there when the doors are open. Their Studying, Their Supplication(prayers) and their Service. People serve Jesus out of Convience not out of Commitment.

II. A Lack of Fervency
We all must guard against lukewarmness. I want to be on fire for the Lord. I am afraid many our not nor our they concerned they are not. People blame the Preacher, the People for losing their fire for God. My problem with that is they just go through the motions. Whether people are on fire, or the pastor is on fire ought not matter. You ought to be on fire for your Lord.

We are going to give an account one day before the Lord and no excuse is going to do why we didn't do what we where suppose to do for the Lord. I trust this is a blessing to those that read.

We are to be different

Who have himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people zealous of good works.

I was sitting here pondering about this thought that has been on my heart most of the day. I thank God that I am saved. We have so many benefits of being in Christ that sometimes I think we forget all we are in Christ. I thank God that I don't have to go to hell, and I thank God that I get to go to heaven. I thank him that he gave me his Holy Spirit to lead and guide me in all truth. I thank God that he has given me the joy of serving him. There are some things in this verse that we are to be in Christ.

I. We are a Purchased Person. We are been purchased. The word here is redeem. We have been bought with a price. That price was the Lord Jesus shed blood on Calvary. The bible tells that we no longer are own. We are not to be self driven but spirit led. The problem with most saved people including myself is that I have too much self in the way. Self controls so much in our life that it is no wonder we don't have the power of God today.

II. We are a Purified Person. He purified us. He cleanse us with his blood and gives us a brand new start, and expects to live right. He expects us to live godly in this present world. He has purifed us from sin. He washed them all the way, the sad thing is that we let sin reign in our mortal body and we fail so much because we forget that we are purifed.

III. We are Peculiar Person.We are different now that we are saved. There are things now that we do that people say we are weird. When I read the Word of God at work that is weird to a lost and dying soul. When I talk about the Lord instead of what world offers that is weird to people. When I listen to good preaching instead of the ungodly music people listen to that is weird. We are pilgrims in this land, we are to be in the world but not of it. I am reminded that This world is not my home I am only passing through. People should think that we are weird. The problem is too many have the stench of the world that are saved that the world sees no difference. Therefore they just live the same way. People should be convicted by the way we are different. I thank God that i am different.

In closing I just wanted to remind us today of what are in Christ. We need to as Christians get serious about how are lives effect other people. They either effect positively, or negativily. We are to show the Love of Jesus but we are not to compromise that love. Till next time God Bless.

What is Your Issac?

We will find a great story in Gen 22 about Abraham and Issac, I love this story of course it is a foreshadowing of what Christ done for us taking our place. However the Lord gave me a message last June that he allowed to preach that I believe help some people in my church and in a revival I was able preach. One person came up to me and said it was one of the best messages they ever heard. I told him praise the Lord that it helped him. The thought comes from verse two. The Lord told Abraham to sacrifice his son whom loved. The Lord was testing Abrahams complete surrender. Today in church people believe some or mostly surrendered is alright but God wants 100 percent of your life and wants you to love him above all other things in your life. With that being said I would like to share with you a couple thoughts that you may need to place on an altar.

The First thought is Your Family.

You know I have been preaching for over 10 years served in the minstry longer than that and the one thing that gets in the way of serving the Lord is family. People miss church because family comes into town. It is amazing to me how many times family comes in town on church day. People put their kids above God. I believe children are a gift from the Lord, however they are still to be second place in your life. People put their kids sports above God. I wonder how many may need to say Lord I love my family above you and I am sorry and place them on the altar.

The Second thought is Your Friendships.
I have heard this several times well preacher we have been friends for years. Teenagers tell me we have been friends since grade school. Friends either draw you closer to the Lord, or they cause you to drift. Sometimes the reason people are in such a rut is they will not place their friendships on the altar. You are not to be friends with those that are in darkness in this world. We are to try to reach them with the gospel.

The Third thought is Your Fleshly Amusements.

The things you listen too. Some CHristians God has been after there worldly music for years, and just won't give it up. They love there music above the Lord. One of the musics we deal with here is country people just don't see a problem with it. Even though it talks about fornication, adultery, beer and things of that nature they say oh GOd don't care REALLY, the Bible says everything we do ought to glorify God.

The things you watch, do they glorify God. If Jesus was to come down and be in the room with you could he watch it with you.

The Fourth though is Your Future.
We make plans and never include God in them. God wants are todays, and tomorrows. This point is mostly to young people have you layed your future on the altar. Above any plans you have you need to surrender your life to God. GIve him a white piece of paper sign it and ask God to fill in the blanks.

In conclusion what is God asking you to give up in your life, do be more pleasing to him. Till next time God Bless

Happy New Year Everyone

Well I bet many who read me didn't think I was posting anymore well shock here I am. Well last year was a good year. The church is steady had some bumps in the road at the end of the year but God is faithful. I do attend on trying to put a post more often again. I didn't know if anyone was reading my posts so I kind of stoppped. I have a question a Preacher says the independent baptist movement is at a crossroads today. I do agree with him about that but I disagree with the reason. His reason is because of unity with other brothers in Christ. What I gather is it don't matter version, music or standards we ought to stay together I disagree. I put that I believe it is because we have subsituted God's Power for programs. My question if anyone would like to answer is this Why are so many leaving the Independent Baptist Church? If you would like to answer would love to hear you feedback on this.

Keep the Fire Burning

I Samuel 3:1-10

It was the job of the priest to make sure the fire never went out. In todays world of Christianity there is not much fire burning. In our churches it is hard enough for people to be faithful to the House of God. People have a lot of excuses why they don't come to God's house. With that being said we need to have a fire burning in our churches so people can come and see what is burning.

We need Old Fashioned Preaching- we need preachers to get a backbone and preach thus saith the Lord. We have people in our church tell me you don't sugar coat nothing well we are not suppose too.
We need Old Fashioned Praying- Oh how we need to get back to praying in our churches. One of the least attended services is Wed the Hour of Prayer.
We need Old Fashion People- we need to get back to living Holy lives before the Lord. It is still God's command for us to be Holy.
We need Old Fashion Praising- People will shout at a game, or at the T.V. but when it comes to God's house it is like pulling teeth to get a Amen! How sad.

It must be started- Before you get a fire burning in your soul you have to know that you have been saved. It is not a hope so think so salvation it is a know so salvation. I pray you all know that you are saved by the grace of God.

It must be Stoked- When you have a good fire you have to keep the fire burning so you have to stoke it. How do we stoke it.
a. By reading and obeying the Word of God daily
b. By praying on a daily basis.
c. By serving in the local church.

More than anything what we need after the fire is burning is my last point. My last point is it must spread.

It must spread.

Who does it need to spread to:
Well our children need to see a fire burning. After the age of 18 over 70 percent of young people turn their back on God.
Why?
1. Hypocritical Parents
2. No Realness in the Church

More than anything the people that need to see a church burning for the Lord is our Community. They need to know that there is something real down at the church house.

To close I know a short thought today I believe the Lord wants me to start posting more regular again. I want to ask you this question are you not tired of the formalism in church, don't you want the spirit to move, then we must surrender all to him and get on fire for the Lord. Great and Mighty Things

I know it has been a while since I post. I am still alive. It has been a rough couple of weeks in the church nothing bad just regular pastoral duties. You know families mad at one another, and then people getting there feelings hurt over misunderstandings. I am going to try to start posting regularly once again. I pray I may gain new readers that will gain some encouragement through the posts.

Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.

I preached this last Wednesday Night at church. At the beginning of this chapter we find the Word of the Lord coming to Jeremiah the second time, and to start out I am glad the Word of the Lord comes more than once. I believe everytime you go to church the Word of the Lord should come to you. What we need in this hour of concern in our nation is for God's people to act on the Word of the Lord. We live in a church age that is lukewarm at best, and many people don't even hear what is being preach to them. If they hear it I know many are not heeding to the Word of the Lord. But my thought for this post is this verse. First we are told to call on the Lord. I know the day we got saved we called on his name to save us, but I believe we have lost sight that we still need to call on the Lord in everything we do. I am glad I am calling on one that is very attentive to what I need. I am glad that he is waiting to hear from me. Now to the next point I will answer thee. You know God answers us according to his will. He will answer us yes, no or wait, I know in my life many times I get the wait answer. That brings us to another thought we can not treat God like a microwave. We get upset when we don't hear the answer we want in our time. God is soverign and he will answer in this time. His ways and thoughts are above are thoughts. Now we come to the reason for this post. He will show great and mighty things. The church today settles for the status quo. I still want to see God do great and mighty things today. I know God can still do great and mighty things.

In the Salvation of Souls God can still do the great and mighty. He can still save souls that we think are hopeless. People we are praying for he can still save them. He is still in the soul saving business, and God want to use us in the area of reaching lost people to do the great and mighty.

I believe God still wants to do the great and mighty in the church. He still wants to fill the church up. He still wants to perform miracles in our churches. He wants to heal people from their infirmities. He wants to put marriages back to together. He still wants to bring the wayward home.

To close the reason we do not see the great and mighty today is I believe we just don't believe God. We don't have the trust in God to do it. Today most churches have not seen the move of God in the church. Even though he says he is there. What do you need today in your life. I know one thing He can still do the great and mighty. What do When the Devil is on Your Back?

First Before I post this thought I want to thank those who still come by. I want to be more faithful to posting but sometimes I wonder if anyone is really keeping up on the posts that the Lord gives us. I want to let those who our my friends on here things are still going well at the church and God is still blessing. I pray you allow this simple thought today to speak to your heart. We need Christians to stay in the battle no matter how hard it becomes.

We all go through times in our life where we are closer to the Lord than at other times. The devil lies to us how good the other side of the fence is. The Bible tells us that Satan desireth you and he will not quit. Satan desiring to sift Peter in Luke 22:31. It is good to know that Satan can not do anything without God's permission. I was thinking recently about area's in my life that I seem to have the most trouble in. I know what they are and I also know Satan knows what they are. I know in my own life I get tired of being defeated in the same areas of my life. I pray and asked God to help me and really want to have complete victory in my life, but for some reason when tempted I fall back in the devils trap. I know most Christians have areas that they struggle in. Remember the devils ultimate goal in our life is to get us to quit on God. I know the reason biblically why I get defeated it is because I have not yielded to the Holy Ghost. I know what the Bible says and I know greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world. Maybe I am missing something and maybe no one else that reads this has this problem but I believe we all do. I know we are never to quit on God even though I have thought about it in the past. I know people who have given into the pressure of the warefare between the devil and God in their life and now they are not in church and some don't even mention God anymore. I believe the devil has won in their lives. I also know that if we don't yield to the Holy Spirit we also can end up in the same position they are. When I get defeated in an area in my life first I must recognize it is sin and I need to confess and forsake it. I also realize and thank God for this that I have a long suffering God who understands where I am being tempted and will always be faithful to me. I also realize that the only way I can defeat the devil is by staying in the Word and by staying on my knee's. My question to you is when you are defeated in an area what keeps you going. I am reminded for what Jesus done for me and thus I can not turn back on the Lord I must keep going. It will be good one day when we lay down this robe of flesh as one song puts it, and we get a new one and the devil can never again defeat us. Praise the Lord that he will see us through even when we fail him. I don't understand why Christians want to stay in a carnal state. I fail the Lord but I want to get the carnality out of my life so I can be a better soldier in the Lord's army. If we have a desire to live for God, we will want to be close to the Lord. The only way the devil defeats us is when we backslide on God. I pray this was a help and also lets us press on till Jesus comes. Till next time God Bless.

Fellowshipping With God

Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Before I get started on what the Lord has on my heart this morning I wanted to say Praise God for another year. Last year I finished my first year of pastoring in Sept and all in all things went well. Last year me and my wife got that dreaded word that none of us want to hear and that is she had cancer, but praise the Lord that it was the non-agressive type and even though it ruin any chance for us to have a child of our own God saw us through by his grace.

Now I know all us have things we loved last year with our relationship with our Lord and I know we all had those times that we may not have been as closed as we could have been. I told our church this is the theme for this year. It really is the most important thing in our Christian Life. It really doesn't matter how much you teach, preach, sing, reach lost people or anything else you do in the church. We must have a personal walk with our Lord. I am convinced that many burn out in church because they do all their labor for the Lord in the flesh. We have so many helps today. You can find SUnday School Lessons for the year , or sermons for the year online and not have to put much study in and still fake it front of the class or the church. As we find in this passage of Scripture this is the last church of the church age. I believe this is the age we are living in. We have many programs in the church but we have forgotten the most important part and that is the power of God. Most churches across our great land used to have the power of God in the church but what has happened. I have several evangelist friends who I have talked to and they say most churches they go in they ain't much going on in the church. There is no doubt in my mind that many churches today in America that the Lord is on the outside of the church and even though is to be our head he isn't even in the church.

With that being said we can have a personal walk with God. I asked our church how much time do you really spend with God in a week. I didn't want them to answer that because I didn't want them to embarass themselves. No doubt today many Christians don't pick up the Bible outside of church and read it. This is shown in the way they live and by how Bible illiterate they are. Just pastoring over a year now we have many people that have been saved for years that don't even understand the elementary things of the Word of God. I really pray that our people would understand the importance of God's Word in their life. That is where fellowship begins in the Word of God. The second part of that fellowship is our Prayer Life. How often do we pray to God. Most Christians spend less than 10 minutes a day in prayer and we wonder why there is no power in our life. Much prayer, much power, less prayer, less power.

I know in my life I want this to be the most fruitful of my ministry. I believe it starts in that personal worship with our God. Once we learn personal worship, then our personal walk will honor God, and lastly that personal walk will lead us to personally witness to others about the Lord. Just a few thoughts the Lord layed on my heart this morning. God bless you till next time.

I want to let you all know I am still alive. I got a little burned out on the blog but I am going to start back up after the first of the year. I know I have a few that follow after the truths that the Lord gives me. ALso I wanted to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas. Remember the reason for the season and that is Jesus. Please do pray for me and my wife. We will start a journey tonight going to Georgia first to spend time with her family and early Tuesday morning we will head up to Ohio. Pray for safety as we may be driving into a mess. Again God Bless you and I can't wait to see what God does for us next year in our lives.

Turning Your World Upside Down for Christ

Acts 17:6b These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

I preached this message a couple of weeks ago and the Lord really dealt with my heart about this thought in my own life. The church in general today is not doing much on a personal level in reaching lost people. Most of our churches are full of people that have never led someone to Christ. Many in our church have never given a gospel tract. Now this fact is very sad, because all you have to do is pick some gospel tracts up and leave them somewhere. We have such a freedom in this country of taking the gospel to a lost and dying world and many never do.

Now the Bible tells us to preach the Gospel to every creature this is in Mark 16:15. I am glad that we can support world-wide missions. How can we do this? Well some have gone in our place and they have gone to the missionfield. They have left all here and went to other countries. I am not against home missions but I believe true mission works our overseas to people that have never heard the gospel. We can support it by giving to missionaries in our place. We waste so much money that one day if we just realized what heavenly benefits we would get if we just gave 20 dollars a month to a missonary I believe that all those souls will be put on your account.

I do not really want to deal with that thought I want to talk about you effecting your world. If you are a young person that would be you school, if you are an adult that would be your job, and together that would be where ever you may be. If we would just become soul conscience I believe we would realize how much God could use us in reaching souls. The story here in acts 17 these men have been preaching and many have got saved as the result of these men. I want to give three things I believe you must have to reach your world.

I. A Burden
Now before someone disagree I know that it is a command to reach lost people but I believe if we would get back to realizing that people are dying and going to hell all around us we may get a burden. What if God were to pull back the portals of Hell tonight and allowed us to hear the screams, and the weeping and the gnashing of teeth I wonder where we would be after we saw that. I believe Christians know there is a Hell but by the way we witness I wonder if we truly believe there is one. What we need in our churches is to fall under conviction for our lack of reaching souls.

II. Boldness
If you are going to affect your world you are going to have to have boldness to reach lost people. I believe God will allow you talk to anyone in whatever state of life they are in if we ask. I heard people say I am not bold in my speech well I believe he will give you that when you stand before people. I told our people that even when I go to doors today and I have knocked on lots of doors over the last several year that I still get that anxious feelng in my stomach but once I talk to that first person God gives me the boldness to talk to people.

III. A Biblical Life. You can not live like a hypocrit and reach your world. God still wants us to live a holy life. WHen at work or school when people tell bad jokes you should leave. When it comes down to gossip as a child of God we should stop it. The reason souls are not being saved is not because of the wickedness of society because think of Noah's day the Lord found one that was living right. The reason souls are not being saved is not because God has lost his power. He is still willing and able to save anyone. The reason souls are not being saved is because the world sees no difference in the lives of professing Christians. We need to get back to talking different, acting different, dressing different than the world.

To close this thought this evening I praise GOd that even though I may have messed up in the area that i can find forgiveness and tomorrow is a new day. I pray that you take these thoughts and allow God to use you to further his kingdom. God Bless YOu!!!!!!!!!!

Some Thoughts from a historic but Sad Day for America

As I sit here pondering on the thought that we now have a president elect that many of us born Again Christians didn't want. Before I truly get started it is a historic day to put a man that is no of the white race in office to be the president of the United States. I did not vote against Obama because he was black. Some sadly did vote that way and that shows as a nation how much further we truly need to go. So it was historical in one sense but the sadness of the day is that we now have a man in that literally on T.V. told us if his daughter got pregnant he would want her to get rid of the mistake. How sad? We have a man now that no doubt will divide Israel's land. We now have the most liberal man ever to be in Senate going to be running this country. With all that being said this country deserved what it got. We have long kick Jesus out of almost all public things. We as a Christian people in the majority have told God let me run my life and let me do what I want to do. Things we use to call sin our no longer sin. The excuse we use today is I have liberty. We forget what that wonderful verse in I Cor 10:31 tells us and that is to bring glory to God in all things. We forgot that God still expects his people to be holy and righteous. He still expects us to be different. I hate to say that the majority of the church makes God sick. Now as we journey through these next couple of years maybe God's people will truly come back to him. I haven't pastored long but I am convinced that our lips praise him but our heart is far from him. The road will be hard I believe for real Christians over the next few years. But the church has always strived when facing persecution. I am not God so I don't know how bad it may get for Christians that believe the truth. Will we face churches being closed down? Will we face the threat of jail if we preach the Bible? Will we face martydom at sometime I don't know? Here is what I am going to do over the next few years. I will pray for Mr Obama to trust Jesus Christ as his Savior. I will pray that our nation will turn back to a Holy God in repentance. I will pray that my life will glorify my Lord and that whatever I may face I know that God's grace will get me through. To close maybe we are that much closer to the return of Christ. A Update of where I have been

I just wanted to let those faithful readers know that I have not given up on blogging. FOr those that have wondered where i have been or why I haven't commented on your blogs in a while. A couple of reasons. First my wife had surgery a week ago this last week, and she came home last Thursday. She is improving but still hurting quite a bit when she don't take her medicine. We did get good news though there will be no reason for chemo or radiation. Praise God for that. The Lord has been blessing our church. We had the most we have ever had on a Wed night last night. We had 39 with atleast 4 regulars out last night. Praise God and then we preached last night It is so amazing. We serve a amazing God that gave us the amazing Gospel who saved us by his Amazing Grace who shows us Amazing Goodness who will be taking us home with amazing gathering. That is just he shell of the outline. I believe our people got some help. I will Lord willing start posting again next week. We have been preaching on going through the Wilderness on Sunday nights and I may get liberty to share these thoughts with you. Do We Give God Glory

I Cor 10:31Whether therefore ye eat, or drink or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.This is a powerful verse. I thank God that he saved me when I was 17 but God did not save me just to sit on a pew. God expects us to give him glory in this life. He is worthy of all glory. I also know reading the Bible that GOd will not share his glory with anyone. I heard a preacher one day say that the reason he doesn't believe we have seen a sweeping revival is because we have to many preachers that take the glory just before God does something. THis is sad. God wants us to bring glory in several area's of our life.

Does are Lips bring God glory?We should praise the Lord everyday we get up because the Lord has given another day of breathing his air. It is easy to praise God when everything is alright but we are too bring him glory when the walls are caving in on our life. Besides praise how about the way we speak to others. Does our conversation bring God glory or does it appease the flesh. We should have a godly conversation. It is hard to bring him glory when one gossips, or backbites or just cuts people down. THis shouldn't happen as a Christian but I know I have been guilty of this in my own life. Shame on me.

Does our Labour bring him GLory.We either labour in the power of the flesh or Labour in the power of the Spirit. The reason people get burn out is because they are trying to bring glory to what they have done instead of bringing glory to God by what God has done through them. When we sing does it bring him glory or self glory, when we teach does bring him glory or self glory, when we lead people to Christ does it bring him glory or self glory. If it brings self glory then it is just burned up works.

Does our Life bring him GloryThe only way my life brings him glory is when it is surrendered to him fully. He wants our lives more than anything else.Does my daily habits bring him glory.Does my dress bring him glory.We either bring glory to his name in everything we do or we bring shame to his name in what we do.To close May the Lord remind us today to bring glory to his holy name because he is worthy and is the least I can do for everything he has done for me. Trust the Lord

Before I get started today I want to say a couple of things. First thank you for all those that know about my wife being diagnosed with cancer. We will be seeing the onocologist on the 14th. We are believing God is going to heal her, but if not the doctor believes we have caught it at a very early stage so we may just have to have surgery and no other treatments please pray for us. We know that God has a reason for my wife and I to go through this it is so first that we trust him, and secondly one day we will be able to comfort other that go through this, secondly I want to say we had a wonderful revival God breathed through each service and I believe our peope got much help. NOw to the post this week. The storm we are about to embark on is one that may get rough but I do know this God's grace is sufficent in the storm so I pray that if you read this that you remember no matter what you are going through that God is still on the throne and that he loves you.

Prov 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.In all thy ways acknowledge him,and he shall direct thy paths.We are admonished here my Solmon in this passage of scripture. We know everything that happens in our life happens for a purpose. This is a very famous passage of scripture and may can quote it but lets look at in detail.

I. Trust with all thine heart. This is easy to say but hard to do from a fleshy person. I know some think they are real spiritual but in my life I have a hard time doing this. We trust in the Saving our Soul. We nail that down but something about trusting him in everyday life is different. It is hard to Trust with every bit of my heart I believe God can do anything in others lives but sometimes have a hard time believing he can do it for me.

II. Lean not unto thine own understanding.This is where alot of us live our lives leaning to our own understanding. We try to help God help in our lives and God says no. He will not share his glory with any one. How many times do we make an own understanding decision. We make decisions many times without even consulting our Lord and Savior. However for us to a spirit-filled christian we have to give God all our heart. I believe as Christians that many times God is trying to get us to the point to where all we can do is look up to him.

III. In all thy ways acknowledge him. Sometimes we live our lives without ever acknowledging the Lord. SOmetimes we get so busy and forget to bring Jesus into to the equastion. The Word again is that little word all, just like trust with all thine heart, here it is in all thy ways. We must trust him in all our ways. and we must acknowledge him in all our ways. All means all.

IV. and he shall direct thy path.We have a part to do before God fulfills his promise. If we don't do our part God is not obligated to his. We must put everything in the Lords hands in our life. He wants to do so much for us in our lives but we don't allow him because we are not obedient to this passage of scripture sometimes we go through things because we don't do what this passage says.

To close I really pray that the Lord would put us in a position that we fully trust him. I know in all our lives we sometimes don't understand why we go through things that we go through but I heard a statement from a Preacher recently. He said God Holy to make a mistake, and God loves us to much to mistreat us. God will never mistreat his Child. God bless you till next time

Revival: Now or maybe Never

This is an old post, but the Lord layed it on my heart to post today. I asked that all those that read this that they would pray for our revival this coming up Monday through Friday that God would breathe and shake our church and that we would see more than just a meeting but a true revival.

Our church is going to have revival next week. I believe our church really does need revival. We have to be able to affect our community and the only way that is going to happen is if we get a revival started in the community. It starts with each member of our church. Our country also needs revival however in my opinion our country may have gone to far with us telling Israel they had divide the land that God gave them. However in this post I want to get it down to a personal level. We need revival. We need a shot in the arm to keep going until Jesus comes. We go through many trials some from the Lord, and some from our own doing. I believe we are in the end of end times look at what is going on. I believe most of the body of Christ don't want revival they just want to keep living the way they are without God getting in their business. How sad but true with most saved people. I personally have been a many of good meetings, but I have never seen God get a hold of a person for any length of time and start a fire of revival with that person. The post title is for a reason. We don't know how much more time we are going to live as matter of fact we are not promised tomorrow. So we either have revival now or we may never have revival. The Word of God says are life is like a vapor. We know the Lord wants us in close fellowship with him. When was the last time you talked to the Lord and it seem like he was in the room with you? Why do we always wait for Revival meeting to have revival? I was talking to someone and they said the greatest revivals are the ones not plan by man but when God sweeps in without a revival meeting. THis is what we must see in our personal lives. He wants us to love him so much that he can use us mightily. The only thing that stops God from using us in us. For those that may not go to our church that reads this you can have revival. We turn from our will, way, and turn to God's will, and God's ways. In closing how long will God give out the call to revival and we keep turning it down before he moves on and finds someone who really wants revival. I pray that he gives me this chance and that for the first time I would experience a holy ghost sent revival in my heart. God bless you till next time.

When the Wind Blows

In John 3:8 the Holy Spirit is likened to wind, and also in Acts 2:2 when the church of pentecost is about to start the Holy Spirit is likened also to a wind.

There are several winds that I see blowing in the church that are not the wind of the Holy Spirit.
The first wind I see in the church today is the Wind of Confusion-People are so confused in the church today in general. You have some churches that are preaching false doctrine or doctrine that itches the ears, you have easy believism in the church, and then you have Pastoral Dictatorship in churches.
The Second wind I see is the Wind of Complanecy- People today in our churches are so complacent today. You can't get most Christians to hand out a tract, testify in the church, come to Sunday School, or better yet there are only Sunday Morning Christians. People don't care about living for God. If they do they do, and if they don't they don't. There is no fear of God in their lives. I don't understand after being saved for 15 years, and really serving in the church for 15 years why people don't do more for Christ in the church. We are definitely living in the ladociean age of the church.
The Third Wind I see is the Wind of Compromise. Churches are compromising some of things they allow in CHurch.
1 Compromising the Scriptures- You have so many churches that use to stand KJV and now they are using different perversions of the Bible.
2. Compromisng th Singing- In our independent baptist churches you have the praise and worship music coming in. Give me the old hymns they speak to the heart.
3. Compromising the Standards- Churches are lowering their standard in the church. Lost people should come however they want they need Jesus, but when you have church members that know what is right dropping their standards in the church you are asking for trouble. James 4:17

These are some winds that are blowing in the church today. Now more than ever we need the wind of the Holy Ghost to blow through are churches. I want to share several things that will happen when the Holy Ghost blows through.

I. You will find Conversions- People will be getting saved.
Bear faithfulness
Bear fellowship
Bear Fruit

II. You will find Conviction- Christians will get right.
So many of our people come to church the same way every week, and God hasn't work in their life for years. But when the Wind Blows you see these people getting right with God.

III. You will find Changed Lives- WHen the wind is blowing you will see the people in the church growing and conforming into the image of Christ.

IV. You will find Commitment- People are committed to nothing today. When he blows we become more committed to our church, and to being a Christian

To close we need to the wind to blow in our churches more than ever today. I am tired of hearing how things use to be, we serve the same God that the move in the church years ago. He hasn't changed we have. God Bless You till next time.

We need a Shaking

I told you I would be back. I know that God wants be to continue putting posts up. I pray they will continue to be a blessing to all who read.

The Bible tells us over and over that we need to be right with God in all area's of our life. We can look at People like Noah, Moses, Peter, Paul that God did use in mighty ways even inspite of their failures. We all sometimes get into Christian ruts in our life. What I mean by that is we all get cold on God sometimes. There is none of I believe can say I am always on fire for the Lord. I am always being directed by the Holy Ghost of God in all areas of my life. We all have times where we are stronger for our Lord. In my own life I have got the point where I am tired of failing the Lord in the same area's of my life and I am ready for God to shake me. I want my life to be different than the normal Christian life. I know people that enjoy living in mediocre or lukewarm as Revelation Chapter 3 tells us, but there are some that want excell in the Christian Life. I know that this comes with a cost. It should be the desire and motivation of all our hearts to live spirit-filled. The reason more people don't come to Christ isn't because of the day we are living in because the Holy Spirit is still convicting hearts, it isn't because everyone is saved. It is because when we walk in this world people don't see the presence of the Holy Ghost in our lives. We need a shaking from in God in Several areas of our life I will hit them and then let you allow God to work in your life.

We need a Shaking in Our Study.

We need to be students of the Word of God. We don't just need to read it, it needs to be a part of our everyday life. I know this is area where I have struggle so far this summer but God has shown me and I am trying to study his word more. I want to know him in my life in more intimate way.

We need a Shaking in Our Supplication

As a Christian I humbly have to say that this has been an area where I have struggle almost my whole Christian life. We need to power of God and the only way that comes is through Prayer. We have to have a stable prayer life. I have preached and taught on this subject because even though I pray I can not say I have a prayer life that is always effective for the cause of Christ. I humbly asked all those that read this When was the last time you got ahold God?

We need a Shaking in Our Soulwinning.

I am not going to spend long on this thought. Just that I fail in this is area and need to do better. We need to reach people for the cause of Christ before it is too late in our lives. When was the last time you led someone to Christ?Just a quick thought that was on my heart that God has been working me over on. Will you allow God to shake you to the point that you would be a more effective Christian. God Bless Till Next time.

Hey I am still alive

Hey everyone!

I know I have a few faithful readers to my blog. I have not given up on blogging. I have just decided to take a longer break than normal. Usually I take a week this time I have taken almost a month. Sometimes you just don't feel like you blog means anything to anyone. The reason I do my blog is to share with you truths from God's Word that he has helped me with and that I have preached to the flock that God has given me. ONe of those weeks I was on vacation. The Lord been blessing us mightily. I am amazed of the good grace of God in my life. Because I know I do no deserve anything the Lord does for me in my life. I fail and mess up so bad in my life but he still loves me and is faithful to me even when I drift from him. I preached a message last night on When the Wind Blows. I will be sharing this message with you all soon. All I know is that God breathe on us last night and he was all over me last night as I preached. For those preachers out there I Believe you know what I mean. I praise God for that last night. We only had 21 people last night but oh did God meet with us last night. Well I just wanted to let you all know I am coming back. I will once again post next month. I just pray that this blog will continue to glorify God and that to those that read it will encourage at times, but at other times it will challenge us. Till Jesus Comes!!

Don't Let the Devil in the Door

I want to share with my readers a message the Lord layed on my heart about three weeks ago when we were having a few misunderstandings in the church which I Pastor. I pray it is a blessing and a help.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spirtual wickedness in high places.

Before I get started with this message I want to say I hate the devil. I know today that there is no such thing as a perfect world on this earth. Thank God one day we will not have to worry about having a perfect world because we will be living in one for eternity. I know today that there is know such thing as a perfect church because it is made up of believers who are imperfect, and I also know there is no thing as a perfect Preacher. I Know today that the devil want to destroy every Christians life. But I want to deal with this thought Don't Let the Devil get a foot in the Door of the church. I have heard about many good churches that let the devil get a foot in the door and now they are no longer churches. Now let me get to a couple of thoughts.

I Distractions will let the devil in the door.
The Devil is a master distractor. He wants to get our mind off of things we should be doing in the church.

The reason we come to church should be Worshipping God. So many people allow their circumstances, or storms, or family rob them of why they are in church in the first place. A church that has no worship going on is evidence that the devil has got a foot in the door. Secondly we must keep the main thing evident in the church and that is reaching souls for Christ. A Church not reaching sould personally has allowed the devil in the door.

II. Divisions will let the devil in the door.
I wish I could say that there are never divisions in the church but sadly there are. Sometimes it is one member at division with another member. Sometimes it is the pastor and another member at division. Division is what the devil does best. If he can get the people divided against the Pastor. That Pastor will not go very far in that church. Church splits have happened over the sillest things. Like what color the carpet should be, or what color the paint should be. Boy I believe the devil sits back and laughs at all the silliness that goes on in the church. He knows if he has a church divided, that church will do nothing for the Lord. I believe in my heart the reason we don't have revival is because we have allowed the devil to move in the church and kicked Jesus out of the church.

To close so much more was said during this message that I can't go into. But Christian let me asked you something have you allowed the devil to get a foot in the door of your life? If you have beware because he is out to devour you as I Peter 5:8. He has devoured many good men, and women that use to do something for the Lord. If you have allowed him a foothold in your heart, home or house ofGod I beg you resist him or you will become a statistic. May the Lord bless you til next time.

A Pure Heart

Matthew 5:8
Blessed are the pure in heart;for the shall see God.

I was reading the beatitudes and some of them jump out at me. I may teach these in Sunday School I don't know yet. But I will at least teach a couple of them. As read this passage of scripture there are some things I realize about God. God is Holy, He is Pure, and he wants us to be these things. Don't get me wrong the heart is decietful we know this but the Bible say we should be pure in heart.As we look at this the word blessed means happy. That means if heart is not pure we are not happy. The word pure means clean, clear. We can live with a clean heart. David asked the Lord to create a clean heart. The bible says that we are to guard are heart with all diligence. It takes work keeping a clean heart.
We must keep a pure heartHow?
I. By Spending Time with the Lord.We must have fellowship with to Lord. How do we fellowship with the Lord.
A. By Studying. We must do more than just read the Bible we must Study the scriptures. If we stay in the Word the Holy Ghost can show through the mirror of the Word of God what we need to get out of our lives.
B. By Supplication. PrayerWe must pray, we have to keep the lines of communication opened with God. If we don't we will not keep a clean heart.
C. By Seeking.I believe we need to seek the Lord fervently to keep a clean heart with him. We need to beg God to help to keep a clean heart.

II. By Attending Church Regulary.A person out of church will not keep a pure heart. The Man of God preaches through the leadership of the Holy Ghost what we need to hear to stay clean.
We must be Faithful.
We must be Fervent.
We must be Fruitful.

III. By Looking For Christ.We must live are lives daily expecting the return of Our Lord. People that don't keep a pure heart will not be looking for his return. The Bible tells us that every man that has this hope purifies himself. Most Christian live there lives the way they want and do not have the fear of God in their lives.As close this post this should be something we strive for in our lives.

To have a pure heart. The rest of the verse tells us we shall see God. Another post. But we shall see his Power, Presence, Protection, peace, Provision. After this week I do plan on posting more at least every other day.

When we are Tried

Job 23:10

But he knoweth the way I take, when he hath tried me I shall come forth as gold.

In this life we go through many storms that we sometimes don't understand. I believe we have storms from Satan that has to go through the throne room of God, I believe we have storms from reaping what we have sown, and lastly I believe God sends storms to conform us into the image of his Son. We all know the story of Job where he lost about everything in Chapters 1.2 and then has his friends accuse him of sinning against God. Isn't like us sometimes to do this. When someone is going through something sometimes our mind wanders and starts wondering what sin did that person commit to deserve that. I am not saying that we are not chastize for what we do but sometimes things happen to us to see how faithful we will be to God. As I look at this verse I see a couple of things that I hope will be a blessing and help to those that read.

I. God KnowsUs
I think sometimes we forget that God knows everything. I believe our minds can not comprehend this sometimes there are multiple verse in the Bible that says His eyes see every thing. I am reminded of Galatians where it says God is not mocked sometimes I think in our heart that we are hiding from God those things that are not pleasing but he knew them before I did them. But I want to take a different direction on this. God has set a path for me to walk in, and though sometimes I don't like what I have to go through God has my best interest at heart.

II. God Tries Us
I Peter 4:12 tells us we will be tried. God I believe tests several things in our life when he tries us.
I believe first he tests our love for him. We love the Lord when everything is going alright, but it seems like when the fires come sometimes we blame God for what we are going through. We are to love God through the blessings of life, and we are to love him through the valleys of life.
I believe second he tests are faithfulness for him. It seems like when I am going through it or when I disagee with God in what he is doing that are start lacking in my prayer life, and in my bible reading.
I believe we can tie these things together with one word. That word is obedience are we going to obey God in whatever we go through or are we just going to obey him when everything is going great.

Sometimes I wonder when God tries me why am I going through this but then this verse tells m that I may come forth as gold. There are impurities in all of are life, and just as goldsman has to put heat on the God to bring the impurities to the top so they can be taken out of the gold for it to be pure. This is ultimately what God is doing in our lives he is trying to get the impurities out of our life so we are conform into the image of his Son. I don't know about you but there are still impurities that he must get out so I know testing times are coming. As a matter of fact until Jesus comes back we must realize that we have times of testing. Will we get bitter or will we get better? God bless you till next time.

And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch

This message I preached this last Sunday. So I wanted to share with on this blog.

Where would we be without Christ? I sometimes look back and see if Jesus would not have saved me when he did I can see where my life would of headed. God is been so good to this preacher. I deserve to be in Hell today and so do you, but God in his infinite mercy loved us and saved us. I am glad he saved me how about you? I believe sometimes as Christians we forget the miracle that God performed the day we got saved.

When he saved me....

I got forgiveness. I am so glad that when he saved me he forgave me of all my sins. Past Present and Future. I am glad that every sin that I ever commit was put under the blood the day I bowed my knee and repented of my sins and trusted Christ. The Devil tries to bring those sins up all the time in my life and in other Christians lives but he is a defeated foe.

I got a family. I thank God for the family of God this morning. I am glad that I was put into a family that loves me. In many Christians lives our family at church is closer than our earthly family. I don't have much in common with my earthly family. They don't understand where I am at with the Lord, but I have much in common with my church family. We have something in common and that is the Lord Jesus Christ.

I got a future.

My future is God is preparing a place for me to spend eternity. I will get to spend forever with my Lord and Savior. Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that I gave a couple of benefits we got when we got saved. Let me tell a couple of things we get to do now that we are Christians.

1. I Get to Go.

Church. I live in America where we have the freedom to worship God. I think we sometimes forget this. I don't have to go to church. I get the priviledge to be around God's people. I get the priviledge to stand and teach and preach his Word. I told our church when we get to the point we have to go to church. We need to get alone with our Lord and get back to our first love.

Crowd. God chose me to be able to go and give the gospel to a lost and dying world. What a priviledge that God gives us as Christians.

I Get to Give.

Myself- I am glad that God gave us a free will. He gives us the choice.

Money- GOd gives me the priviledge to give to his church. We get to give our money to the Lord. I use to hear a saying God loves a cheerful giver but he will take it from an old grump also. I pray that you are faithful in giving to the Lord in his church. For everything God has done for me the least I can to do is give him what he asks me to give.

To close I am glad that I am a Christian. Are you ?

How Serious is Your Walk With God?

Before I get started this post is not done in a mean spirit. This post is not to throw stones at anyone that reads my blog. This post is specifically from the heart on this issue. How serious are you about walking with God? How serious am I about my walk with God? This a great question. . It seems like today that many Christians have used God as a fire escape. It is great that I am not going to hell, and that I am going to heaven, but our Christian Life can be so much more than that. I see so many professing Christians that have no joy, or no peace, or sometimes not even a sound mind. I believe this has to do with their walk. I myself have been guilty of having no peace or joy at times in my life. I believe it is time for Christians to get serious about their walk for Christ. We need to get more faithful for the cause of Christ. Everyday we have people quitting the battle. The reason many quit the battle is because they try to live life their own way. If we live our life it is hard and full of burdens if we let Christ live through us it may be hard, but at least we have one to walk with us through the hard times. I believe there are a couple of areas I believe we need to get serious about in our Christian Walk. Again if you are doing these things praise God however I believe none of us have arrived and we all can do better.

I In our Scripture Time.
How much time do we spend in the Scriptures? Or better yet Why am I reading? Is it because I love Jesus and want to get closer to him, or is it because of obligation. We should all have a reading time in our walk. This time is for reading, meditating, and memorizing God's Word. As We know this because we have been caught and preach to for years about the Word of God becoming more of a part of our lives. The one thing I am realizing is when I am not in the Word of God like I should be I tend to drift away, and I know i am not growing like I need to be. A good indication that we have backslid is are we spending more time in his Word of less. I think we never can spend to much in his Word.

II. In our Supplication.

How much do I pray? Or better yet when was the last time we got ahold of God in our Prayer life. I read much on prayer, and it amazes me that it is preached, taught but seems like the least practice in most people's lifes. If I have sin in my heart God will not hear me. If I am praying out of obligation most likely my prayer life is stale. The closer and more serious we get about praying the more we will grow in our CHristian Walk.

III. In Our Soulwinning.

Now lastly this is area where I know I have struggled in lately. The reason we are here as Christians is to make disciple out of those that are lost. If I fail in the two area's above then most likely my soulwinning is naught. It will be sad one day when countless millions will stand before God empty with no souls to their account. This is a area I believe we must get more serious in our lives. People every second go into eternity and have to face a Holy God. What are we doing to help them find Christ.

In closing I hope this is a reminder, and that it strengthens us to do more for Christ. If we are lacking in any of these area's I hope God will help us to do better in them. Remember people are always watching us when we say we are a Christian, and maybe if people see we were more serious about being Christian more people would turn to Christ. A Prayer Request

I will be taking a break from blogging this week as we will be taking our young people to camp for the week. Please pray for the Lord to get a hold of our young people. Please pray for a couple I believe need to be saved. I would say Brandon Mccrae, Chelsea Mcrae, and Tyler Parrish, and Matthew. Tears are A Language

Ps 56:8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: [are they] not in thy book?

As we journey along in this life, we face many roadblocks that we didn't expect. I am thankful to be a child of the King this morning. As I look out in this world today I don't see how the lost make it with out Jesus. If I didn't have Jesus I would be worried about everything. People are losing their jobs left and right, gas is outrageous, food is going up as alarming rate, but as a child of God we have a promise that God will take care of us. I believe we as Christians to examine where we are at with the Lord because soon I believe are churches are going to be bombarded with people looking for answers. Now to the thought for today. Have you ever as a child of God went to God in prayer and all that came out was tears?

We sometimes feel that we are in a hopeless situation and all we can do is go to God and cry our eyes out but you know what God knows what we need during these times. We live in a world that it seems like our heart is broken often. I as a Pastor have already experience this even in my church as you pray and seek the Lord and try to love people but still they turn there back on the Lord this breaks my heart and all I want to do is go to God and cry. I have been saved for almost 15 years and I know many parents that i have had contact with who have had a child decide they know better than God and go do there own thing. Some come back to the Lord but many have not as this point. What do you tell those parents what kind of words can you comfort people with when they go through things like that? All I can say is God knows and he understands and he is still in control. I have told the church often that sometimes you can come to me and we can weep together, laugh together, rejoice together, but sometimes there is nothing I will be able to say or do and all you will be able to do is go before God and pour your heart out before him. Maybe this is what has happen to us maybe we have become so heart hearted that we have lost are tears. People use to weep over sinners being lost and going to Hell like Ps 126:56 tells us but now people really don't care. You use to have people weep over where they are at with the Lord but now, most people are so apathetic to the things of God they really don't care where they are at with the Lord. We have a nation that is on a downward spiral going to Hell, yet most Christians never pray for this nation or its leaders.

To close I am thankful when I don't know what to say, and all I can do is just approach the throne that God knows what my tears are saying. We need to be broken over sinners going to hell, we need to be broken about backsliders that are away from God, and we need be broken over this country. May God bless you till next time.

Don't Let the Waves Overflow You

Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts; all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. Ps 42:7

We are coming upon the time of the year where we are about to have a chance at Hurricanes once again. During this time of year when the hurricanes come the waves get really big anywhere from 10 to 25 feet during a storm. I was thinking that many times when the storms come into our life we sometimes feel like the waves are going to overtake us. We must always remember that Christ is still able to speak peace to our storms.

I Waves of Distraction.
Waves come in our life to distract us from our fellowship with the Lord Jesus. We seem to get distracted from many area of life. Satan is the master at distracting God's children. I believe the church of God is allowing the devil to distract a whole lot more than before. Sometimes he uses family to distract, sometimes health problems, or sometimes even financial problems. We must keep our eyes on the Lord.

II. Waves of Doubt.
I remember for a while I use to doubt if I was even saved when I was in Bible college. However sometimes the doubts come in what we are doing with God's Will. We know God see's the final picture but we don't understand always what he is doing in our life. The main thing is our service for the Lord. Where we go to Church what we do in the church, these things sometimes are used by the devil to get us out of the Will of God.

III. Waves of Discouragement
We all get to points in our life when we get discouraged. We are not to live in it, but we are all bother by it.We get discourage where we are with the Lord. We look at our life and think man I haven't grown very much and we get discouraged.We get discourage when things in our families life are not going the way of the Lord and it discourages us.We get discourage with the way things in churches go. We want to see the move of God and then it don't come, and Satan gets you to the point whether you believe anything is ever going to happen.I am sure there are many mores waves that come in our life but I thank the Lord that he can to something for us that are spouses or children can't do, and parents can't do, our pastor can't do.HE CAN SPEAK PEACE TO ANY WAVE THAT COMES IN OUR LIFE. This is what keeps us going in life. He is a Friend that knows our needs and I believe he hurts when we hurt. He loves us and knows when we can't handle any more of the wave and he speaks peace

Redeeming the Time

If there is one thing that amazes me is how fast our time goes in a day. I mean we are almost through half this year and it seems like yesterday this year just started. We know that we are living in perilous days and that we are living in the last of the last days. It seems like people are wasting more and more of their time. The Lord is coming back soon I believe and I believe until he comes back I wonder how we spend the time he gives us. What are some things we can do with our time?

I. Wasting It. How do we waste our time?
A. By Living in Sin.If we live in sin we are wasting the precious time the Lord has given us.

B. By Living to Self.Sometimes it is all about us and not about the Lord. We say I am too busy to read and pray however we have time to do the things we love to do. We live to self alot of times in our lives.

II. Witnessing with Our Time
We are called to be a witness. I know I can witness more and need to but to be right with God we have to fulfill the Great Commisson in our lives.
Why Witness.
Because they are hopeless without the Lord.
Because they are heading to Hell.

III. Worshipping with Our Time.
We need to spend our time worshipping the Lord. Everyday we should have a time of worship. We can not survive without worship in our lives. We must get alone with God. The time Christians waste they could be worshipping the Lord.

IV. Watching with Our time.
Each day we need to be watching for the Savior to come. He can come at any moment and we must be ready. Are you watching for him or have we become to busy with the affairs of this life to heed to the command of the Lord.
Lets take each day as another precious day the Lord has given us and redeem the time.

God is so good

I just wanted to give you all an update on how things are going in our church. God has truly been blessing us. Yesterday we had 59 in attendance that is almost 20 over our average. We have had so many visitors over the last almost 8 months it amazes me. The church has been praying about changing the outside up a little because we had an ugly brown well Saturday we came up and started changing the window a little bit. I can't complain God has been good to us. We have had several sinners in our services I just pray the Lord would allow them to come back and get saved. I am loving being a Pastor.

Now on to something else I am praying and reconsidering what I need to do with my blog. I don't know how many our coming by now. I know I have a couple of faithful people that come. I have not decided to give up on it, but the only reason I do keep it is because I believe it is an encouragement to people, or it helps them it their walk with God. When that ceases to be then it will be time to do away with it. So if you see that I may miss a couple of weeks don't give up on me I may just be taking a little break. The Word Of God

Hebrews 4:12
For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even the dividing asunder of sould and spirit , and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart.

To beging with this morning I want to say I am thankful that God gave of us his Word as a roadmap for our lives. Today there are so many other versions that are passed off as being in the Bible. However these versions take out the most important doctrines of the Bible. Some take out the blood which is a necessity to being saved. Some take out the Holy Spirit, Some take out Jesus being the Son of God, and some take out Hell just to name a few of the problems. I am not posting this to get anyone upset and you have the right to your opinion but I believe the King James Bible is the Word of God for english speaking people. Now before I go to far let me state a fact that I still believe in going to the greek and hebrew meanings of the Word for the simple fact that several words in the English language have different meanings in the greek and hebrew. Now that God has given us his Word there are some things we must do with the Word of God. We must read and study it. The church in general is ignorant of the Word of God. MOst People never pick it up after church service and therefore they are spiritually anemic. Not only to we need to read the Word of God, but we must meditate upon it as Joshua tells us, and as Ps 1 tells us. We also need to memorize it according the Ps 119:11, we must hide his Word in our heart. Lastly we must obey the Word of God. We must learn to do what it says. Now I want to give you three things the Word of God does for us, and pray these are a blessing and a help to you this morning.

I. The Word of Convicts of Sin.
A reason I believe many do not read the Word of God because it tells them what they are doing wrong. There have been many times that I have been in my Bible reading and the Holy Ghost get all over me for something that I was doing, and it hurt but I know it was neccessary. It is amazing how the Holy Spirit will lead you to places in the Scriptures that tell you what you are doing wrong. I am thankful that the Lord loves me enough to tell me what I am doing wrong in his Word.

II. The Word of God Cleanses of Sin.
The Bible tells us in John 15 that we are cleanse through the Word. I am thankful that I can get in His Word and after he shows me what I am doing wrong that I then can find help to cleanse me of what i am doing wrong.

III. The Word of God Changes our lives.
It is amazing to me the more I am in my Bible the more the Lord uses to Word of God in my life to change it.
He changes our lives through the preaching of the Word. As a preacher stands up and preaches the Word of God it is amazing the Holy Spirit uses that Word to change me. I don't know how many times I have heard a message that God has changed my life with.

To close this little post this morning. Do you love your Bible? There are so many people in this world that don't even have a Bible that would love to have one. However most Christians have multiple copies yet never open them. Lord help us to understand the importance of the Word of God. And we wonder why this country is in a mess. Sitting at the Feet of Our Savior

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part.The story here is the story where Martha is working and working and Mary is at the feet of Jesus learning from Jesus. The Lord speaking here says that mary chose the needful thing.

As I write this post so many saved people have forgot the needful thing. We do so much of the Lord's work in the flesh and we wonder why we get so tired in our lives. We wonder why we get to the point where we are ready to quit on God. We probably have all been there but hopefully none of us in our heart have quit on God. We have to learn that we can not live this life in the energy of the flesh. THere are some things that happen when we sit on the feet of Jesus.

I. We have a Better Appreciation of the Savior.One of the greatest myths that are baptist preachers preach in this country is the more I serve the closer I get to God. That is so false. I know there was a time in my life that I serve and I was probably the furthest I have ever been from God. When we sit and learn from the Lord what he done for us. We appreciate him more. We need to appreciate most of all for our Salvation, but we have much to brag on our Lord for. He gives us strength through the hardtimes. He gives us stability when we are falling apart. He is a great Savior. We must get to know him like Paul said in Phillipians 3. THe only way we do that is sitting at his feet.

II. We have a better Attitude toward Service.What I mean is it seems like when we don't sit at his feet we get to a point where we have a poor attitude and people see it. THey see our poor attitude and we damage our testimony for Christ. WHen I sit at the Lord's feet it gives me the attitude of graditude and I want to serve my Lord the best I can. THe attitudes we get are the following.We can get a selfish attitude.We can get a sour attitude.But the Lord wants us to have a spirit-filled attitude and the only way that happens is when I get to his feet and learn how to live that kind of life.
There is nothing wrong with a Child of God just stopping for a little while and sit at Jesus feet. As matter of fact I believe the only way we live a victorious Christian life is not by how much I do for my Savior but by how much time I spend at the Saviors feet. God bless you till next time

Dealing WIth Weariness

Dealing with Weariness
Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not. We all get weary. I preached on this thought a couple of Wednesday nights ago. We get weary in well doing. As a preacher, or teacher we give and give and give and sometimes we don't get back and it causes us to get weary. There is not a preacher alive that does not get weary. I hope we all try to live for our Lord. The goal of my heart is to stay in fellowship with my Lord at all times. Do I do this no but so want to be an intimate disciple of Christ.
What do we get weary of?

Weary of the Flesh We all battle our flesh everyday of our lives. I get tired of my flesh. I get so tired of me in my life. We realize that Paul told us we should crucify the flesh. Crucify means to put to death. We must put our flesh to death every morning we get up. If we do not do this the flesh will have control, and the spirit will be envying for that control. I wonder how many of us live in the flesh. If I do things my way and allow my flesh to have control then that means I will get weary. The reason so many Christians faint and give up is because they have not learn the truth of abiding. If we abide in Christ we realize we can do nothing without Christ. Who has control today in your life? Flesh or the Spirit.

Weary of the World.We are not be wordly. John 2:15-17 tells us this. I know I have people that visit my site that believe it is alright to dress like the world, listen to the world music( that is what contemporary christian music really is), go to worldly places but God tells us we need to be Holy. The world may make fun us for if you are lady for wearing dresses and skirts all the time, or if you are a man wearing pants at all times but they need to see a difference. The problem with the church today is there are too many worldly people in the church therefore the power of God does not fall on the church. I also get weary of the world by what goes on in the world. I am tired of seeing Homosexuals flaunt their lifestyle in front of us, I am tired of seeing millions of babies being aborted, I am tired of seeing a corrupt government. This sometimes will make us weary. The only way we can deal with the weariness of the world is by setting our affections on things above.

Weary of Fighting I am tired of fighting the devil and his demons. I am tired of the devil winning in Christians lives. The last time I check we are to be different. The devils fight us on our faithfulness to the Lord. This is all areas. Our Church Attendance, Our Bible Reading, Our prayer time, Our soulwinning time. He fights us. Another fight I am tired of fighting is this fight of Promoting Truth. We have so much spiritual deception going on in churches today, that so many people have been decieved.That is what I am weary of So how do I deal with weariness.

I. Lean on Him He is in control. He knows everything about us. He wants us to trust him 100 percent with our daily lives.

II. Lay my Burdens down.My burdens are the Lord's. We as Christians get weary so many times because we struggle with the burden instead of relinquishing it to God.I pray this was a blessing and a help. One day we won't be weary anymore and that is when we get to heaven, but until then lets stay in the fight. Till next time God Bless.

Watch Out the Devil is Coming

I Peter 5:8

Be sober, be vilgilant, because your adversary the devil as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom he may devour.

I am glad to know that while we are in this life that we go through times in our life where it is seems like everything is settled. I don't know about you but I am also watching because I know the devil will not stop. The sad thing is many saved people don't realize the way the devil tries to get in their life. He knows are weak spots in our life. He knows the one thing that makes us fall. The devil never stops he is very persistent. I sometimes wish that we were as persistent at following the Lord as the devil goes after us.

I He is our Adversary.He hates us. He is our enemy. THere are things he wants to do in our life that when we open door leads to destruction. He has a plan for each and everyone of us. The first thing was to steal the Gospel when it was preached but thank God that didn't happen if we are saved. Then literally he wants to kill us. If he could we would all be dead today but we learn in Job that are Father is greater than the devil and would not allow Satan to kill Job, but lastly nd I believe this is one of the things that we must guard against. He wants to destroy our testimony. It takes a lifetime to get a testimony and minutes to destroy.

He has an Approach.
It is decietful. He will put something there that seems alright just to get us hooked again, and getting us to live defeated.
It is dangerous.I believe and some may disagree but when God does a great work in our life, that is when the devil is whispering and adding pressure to our life to make sure that great work doesn't get done.

He has an Appetite. His appetite is to devour us. It says he walks about as a lion seeking whom he may devour. Who does he devour?
He devours the wicked.
He devours the weak.
He devours the wavering.

If we waver in our faith, or if we waver in our decisions we make that is when to devil has the best chance of devouring us.In closing I hate the devil but I also know he hates me and is looking for a spot in our lives to where he can make his presence known. What are we Weeping Over?

John 11:35
Jesus Wept

This the shortest verse in the bible but really it is a powerful verse. We really don't know why Jesus wept. Some say it was because his friend was dead. Some say it was because of their unbelief. I really don't know why but Jesus showed his human side before he showed is God side. As I am sitting here thinking. Where has the churches tears went? The church has lost its tears. The reason we know this is look at the world we live in, but not only that look at what is going on in our churches in majority nothing is happening in the church. Why have we lost are tears is the question. WHen was the last time you weep about something spiritual. THe sad thing is I don't know when the last time I actually wept over something spiritual.

Are we weeping over souls? THe bible gives us a wonderful promise in his word that I believe sometimes we don't get. Ps 126:5-6 Why should weep?THey are going to Hell. Are we really broken about people going to Hell? When we weep it shows we are broken over something. When was the last time we got broken about a loved one going to Hell, or a neighbor or a friend going to Hell.

Are we weeping over our Sin?Have we been broken about when we fail the Lord. THe problem with most saved people is they never get broken over their sins. I believe for real repentance to take place in a Christians life we will get broken about are sin. One of the reason why the church is not broken is because they have hardened their hearts. When are heart is not tender we will not be broken. THe holy Spirit deals with us and deals with us and we reject and reject and finally we get used to the dark, or use to living in the flesh and it don't bother us like it use too. WHat we need in America is for the church to get right get broken over their sin, and then we will see GOd do something.In closing I believe we need a revival in tears again. I know I do. I remember when my heart was so tender that I would weep when I messed up. I remember when my heart was so tender that I would weep over souls. WHat has happen is I lost my tenderness and thus I don't weep no more. What we need is to fall back in love with Jesus and he will do the rest. God Bless you till next time.

What will it Take to Persuade Them?

This message I preached this last Sunday morning. People play games with God every Sunday thinking that they will get another chance. It will be late one day. I pray that this will burden you even greater for those that you are waiting to get saved.

Acts26:28 Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

Paul is before King Agrippa here and has just given his testimony of Salvation and told the king what God told him to do. Whenever Paul was brought before someone he always gave his testimony. The King says that Paul almost persuaded him to be a Christian. Today in this world every Sunday people come to the house of God unsaved and leave out the same way. I believe some of the reason's for this are simple the gospel is being waterdowned in so many places however this is happening in many places where the Gospel is preached every week. Sometimes I wonder what will it take to persuade a person to give up their life of sin and turned to a Holy God. I want to give you three things that I hope would persuade someone to be saved.

I. Calvary
The first point is Calvary how some one can hear what God has done for them and turn away from the Lord is beyond me, however then I think of when I turned from Calvary and I understand. When I think of all the Lord did leading to Calvary and on Calvary it just amazes me people will still turn away from him. What a awesome picture of love on the cross was portrayed. When I think of the beaten he took from the Cat of Nine Tails I wonder how someone can turn away from that, when I think of the nails being driven in his hands and feet I wonder how someone can turn away from that. When I think about the agony he took upon himself, and being rejected by his father I wonder how someone can turn away from that.

II. The Consequences

If Calvary don't persuade them I wonder if Hell will persuade them. Hell is a real place that is not preached from our pulpits very often now. The Lord Jesus spoke more on Hell than he ever did on heaven. Their our some things about Hell that Scripture tells us. The first thing is that immediately after someone dies without Christ then they lift their eyes up in Hell. Secondly their is a flame that torments those that occupy Hell, and lastly and probably the saddest is that they will be in Hell until they stand at the great White Throne judgement where they will be cast into the lake of fire will they will burn forever. I believe most people that are lost just don't believe God would allow them to go to these places, but I am here to say it is the just thing for God to do

III. The Coming of the Lord.

The last thing I want to talk that I would hope would persuade people is that Christ is coming back to take us out of this sin sick world. As a child of God we have such a hope that one day we will leave this earth and have a new body with no pain or problems, we will have a new mind where we never think a foolish thought again. We will spend eternity basking in the glories of heaven. As nice as that is for us the person left behind at his coming will be left to believe the lie of the anti-christ and they will.

As I close this post first I want to asked those that may read this and play church will thou be persuaded, and for those that have love ones that are still lost I wonder sometimes what it will take to persuade them to be saved.

Why the Browns have not been posting.

I don't know how many come to my site and read my posts that go to Mrs Julie blog. I just talked to them this afternoon and they are find. ON Friday they had a storm come through where they lived and it fried their motem so they have no internet access. It fried more than that also.

Now I have a prayer request to all those that read my blog. Please pray for Andrew Stringer. He is a pastor that I went to school with over 10 years ago. He is only 33 and had a massive heart attack on last Tuesday. The Lord has been blessing over the last week but he still needs more prayers. The next couple of hours and days will tell a lot. The doctors said that they were amazed when he walked in alive. Just keep his family in your prayers he has 3 kids and a fourth on the way. His wifes name is Andrea. Thank You for praying. I will be back to regular posts sometime this week.

An Update on Our Revival

I am not going to post this week except what I am going to post today. I will Lord willing post again on Monday. The truly blessed during our revival. We had the Walkers from Toledo, Ohio singing for us each service and my pastor Ron Brown preaching. Each night had a different spirit but I do believe are people got some help. Monday Night the message was on We ain't seen it like this Before talking about when Jesus came on the scence the people had not seen it like that before and how we need some churches to get back to God's Word and get his power where people will come and say we haven't seen it like this before. Tuesday Night the message was on the ship was safe. Talking about when the disciples were in the ship in the storm and Jesus came walking on the sea. The message basically wherever God has us right not it is the safest place to be. Then last night he message was on Go. Why we should reach a lost and dying world. I believe the LOrd did some wonderful work in our people's lives. I asked for all those that read this please pray for Johnstown Baptist Church that God would truly send Revival and that you would pray for me the Pastor that God would give me the wisdom in Pastoring these great people. Thank You for all those that have prayed for us this week and only heaven will reveal the lasting effect his revival will have on people. God bless you till next time.

Revival: Now or Never

This is a post I put up a couple of years ago. This coming week March 10-12 we are having our first Revival with me as the Pastor of Johnstown Baptist Church. I asked my Pastor Bro Ron Brown to preach it. I believe that our church mostly wants revival. The Lord has let me preach several messages that would I hope prepare our heart for revival. Please pray for our church this coming week that God would revive his people.

Our church is going to have revival next week. I believe our church really does need revival. We have to be able to affect our community and the only way that is going to happen is if we get a revival started in the community. It starts with each member of our church. Our country also needs revival however in my opinion our country may have gone to far with us telling Israel they had divide the land that God gave them. However in this post I want to get it down to a personal level. We need revival. We need a shot in the arm to keep going until Jesus comes. We go through many trials some from the Lord, and some from our own doing. I believe we are in the end of end times look at what is going on. I believe most of the body of Christ don't want revival they just want to keep living the way they are without God getting in their business. How sad but true with most saved people. I personally have been a many of good meetings, but I have never seen God get a hold of a person for any length of time and start a fire of revival with that person. The post title is for a reason. We don't know how much more time we are going to live as matter of fact we are not promised tomorrow. So we either have revival now or we may never have revival. The Word of GOd says are life is like a vapor. We know the Lord wants us in close fellowship with him. When was the last time you talked to the Lord and it seem like he was in the room with you? Why do we always wait for Revival meeting to have revival? I was talking to someone and they said the greatest revivals are the ones not plan by man but when God sweeps in without a revival meeting. THis is what we must see in our personal lives. He wants us to love him so much that he can use us mightily. The only thing that stops God from using us in us. For those that may not go to our church that reads this you can have revival. We turn from our will, way, and turn to God's will, and God's ways. In closing how long will God give out the call to revival and we keep turning it down before he moves on and finds someone who really wants revival. I pray that he gives me this chance and that for the first time I would experience a holy ghost sent revival in my heart. God bless you till next time.

Even So Come Lord Jesus

Rev 22:20
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

I preached this message last Wednesday. I love reading what the writers of the Bible said as there last message to us. Here is John the Apostle finishing up one of the most mis understood books in the New Testament, and he gives us some hope to look forward too.

We should Expect His Return. The way we expect his return is we must be watching for it. If we are in sin we are not watching for his return.
We should be Excited about His Return. I am excited to know that he could back at anytime. I am excited to see what is on the other side.

Why should we want him to return.

I. The Wickedness of Society. Society is very wicked. I mean think about what has already happen this year multiple mass shootings and we are only in Feb. And if we see what is happening politically for our next president it is not looking good for us.
People are sinful
People are self-centered.

II. The Wavering of the Saint.
In our faithfulness- People in our churches just are not as faithful as they use to be. It is like pulling teeth to getting all our church meeting at every service. You know the excuses that we here. Faithfulness also to reading and praying. We all have times where we spend more time with the Lord.
In our Focus- We get our focus off the Lord entirely to easily. You know our family gets attack by the devil, or sickness pervades our homes and then we just start forgetting who is in control. God is still in control and the best thing we can do is live Is 26:3. We must keep our focus on the Lord. If we keep our eyes on him we can make it through any storm that may enter our life.
In Our Faith- In my life my faith sometimes is not as strong as it needs to be. If we would just trust God like we need we would be a whole lot better off. Easier said than done.

III. The weariness of the Saint.
Weary in the Battle- This battle is not going away, and sometimes I just get tired of battling this Wicked Flesh of mine that is my greatest problem, and then the World with its influence, and lastly the Devil. Sometimes we just get weary in the battle.

Weary in the Body- The sickness of this body just gets weary sometime, and not only that the pains we go through sometimes you just wish Jesus would come back, but lastly the Sorrow we go through is this body. The death of people we know, and the heartbreak we lots of times feel.

I did not write this to throw a pity party no. I wrote this simply to say EVEN SO COME LORD JESUS. I pray this is your prayer. The last prayer in the Bible would definitely do us good. God Bless You till next time

Why our you offended?

Great Peace have they which love thy law and nothing shall offend them. Ps 119:165

One of the saddest things I believe that is happening in our churches is people getting offended and getting out of church. Most people that leave church were offended either by the Pastor, by a teacher, or by a member. The reason people get offended is because they haven't died to self. In my own life I have been offended and I have also offended others. I do know that people that get offended by something out of the Word of God has a heart problem. Lets take a few minutes and disect this verse.

Great Peace have they which love thy law.If there is one thing missing from peoples lives it is this thing of peace. Some of the worst grudges that are held are people that claim to know the Lord as their Savior. When we get offended we must realize that we are not where we need to be at with the Lord. A person that gets offended usually is out of the Word of God, and they are not Praying like they need too. We are to try to live with all people in peace. and nothing shall offend them.
THe word offend means to stumble. It means in the hebrew study that you not stumble and get out. If we are where we need to be with the Lord nothing will offend us. So now lets get to where the rubber meets the road.When was the last time you got offended?Why did you get offended?What happen when you got offended?

Most Christians wear there feelings on their shoulders. That is why they get offended. I have been saved for almost 15 years people have done things to hurt me, people have said things to hurt me, but by the grac of God I am still in the Battle. THe next time we get offended at something someone says or by something they do lets check and see where are heart is. PEOPLE THAT ARE DEAD TO SELF WILL NOT GET OFFENDED. May the Lord help us to die to self and to let nothing offend us. Till next time God Bless You

Som thoughts on First Peter 1: 3-5

I shared some of these thoughts with our church on Wednesday night. I was planning on starting a series about some things we find precious in I Peter but couldn't even get to the verses that start that so Lord willing we will start that Wednesday Night. Also please pray for our church we have a virus going on that knocked out about half our church this last Sunday and couple more have got since Sunday. Thank You for praying.

Now I just want to look a little at these verses I pray you get a blessing.

The first thought I found while studying we find in verse number three and it is the phrase abundant mercy. I am so thankful for God's abundant mercy toward us. We know mercy is God withholding judgement from us. What a blessing because all we deserve is to be in Hell, but I am thankful that abundant mercy wasn't only for me when I got saved, but since I got saved how many times have I needed that abundant mercy. The times I walked out God's Will and he showed me love and kindness and longsuffering. Praise God for his Abundant Mercy.

The Second thought I see is verse 4 and it is the Inheritance I have on the other side. You know people on earth get inheritances that eventually go away. THey either spend it all or they die without spending it. I am thankful that Jesus went to prepare a place for me up in heaven and that he is coming again. Today things are corruptible, things are going to last on this earth, even the most beautiful building you have ever saw will fade away. I am thankful that it is reserved for me. Guess what that means no one can take away from me. What a blessing to know that I have an Inheritance waiting for me on the other side. We get discouraged so many times, and get defeated but we can rejoice in the Lord knowing that God has reserved something for me. If that don't make you happy something has got to be wrong.

The Third thought I found was about our blessed salvation. I am so thankful that we can not lose our salvation if we could how many times would we have lost it. Now that word kept in verse number 5 is a blessing. It means guarded thank God that God is guarding what his son paid for on the cross of Calvary. I am thankful for what John 20 says that no man can pluck us from his hand. I am thankful that the devil may be able to mess up Christians lives because they allow him to but he can not touch our salvation. I am thankful that salvation is Free and Forever.

So the next time the devil gets on your back which I am sure will be sometime today remind him where he is going and where you are going. Put on the whole armor of God and fight the devil. It's Real

I remember when I heard Bro Tony Hutson preach that he said when his Dad was dying that he pulled to the bed and said Son it is real. Tomorrow is Sunday and many Christians that claim to be saved will stay home and not go to church. Some because they are just too lazy and some because they have been hurt. The sad thing is their is a lost and dying world out there watching our every step and they see when a Christian don't go to church how real the Lord is to them. I really don't want to take it from that point of view. I want asked you a question How real is he to you this day? Other people worship their Jesus, or their God and they are very sure that what they have is real but it is not. We worship the true God and many Christians live their life like he is not real.
When you wake up how real is he? I am guilty in what I am about to say but is the Lord the first person we talk to in morning thanking him for another beautiful day, and thanking for another day to live on his earth to be a blessing to someone. If he is real to us like he should be he will be the first one we talk to in the morning.
When you go to church is He real?
Is his presence flowing out of you that you are anticipating what the Lord can do. He wants to show himself so real in our services but we hinder him. We hinder by not obeying the voice of the Lord. That means if we have sin in our lives we will not obey his voice, but how about when he wants us to testify of his grace to do we obey or when he tells us to sing whether with music or without do we obey him. The only way God can do want he wants in the church is when the members have been obedient to all the Lord has said.
When we are in the valley his he real?
I know when he drops blessing in our life he is real, but what about when we go through the hard times is he still real. Many people have turned their back on the Lord because they went through a hard time. It may have been a lost of a love one, or it many have been a financial lost, or someone may have done us totally wrong. Remember every thing that happens in our life the Lord allows. SOmetimes it is to get us back in line and sometimes it is to help us just grow a little closer to our Lord. There have been many valleys that I thought I am not going to make it the Lord is no where to be found and then suddenly he shows up and makes himself real in my life.
In closing so many other areas of our lives we can talk about but the one thing I know is I want people to see God real in me. There have been times people have but I hope from now until Jesus comes back people by the grace of God can look at my life and say God is real to him and in him. May that be all our prayers. What to Do When you Have Had Enough

I Kings19:4But he himself went a days journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree, and requested for himself that he might die; and said It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers

The prophet Elijah had just performed many miracles and proving Baal a liar, and then Jezebel says she is going to kill Elijah. THis is one of the greatest prophets in the Scripture later on he is taken up without even seeing death. However this woman causes him to flee and he goes into the wilderness gets under a tree and tells the Lord I have had enough let me die.

How often do we as Christians get to this point of we are just tired of fighting. We are tired of fighting family, we are tired of fighting the flesh, we are tired of fighting the world, we are tired of fighting the devil. We are tired of struggling to stay in God's will. We are just ready to throw in the towel because we are weary in the battle. I know i have been to that place i my life several times. We go through money problems or problems with people we love so dear, and just say what is the use. I want to give several things we could do and I pray that we will do the right one.
I. We could just give up.We could just throw the towel in and say that is it Lord I want no more apart of this, I am just so tired of this. The sad thing is many Christians get to this point and do throw the towel in. Oh they still go to church, pay money, sing, teach but inside they have just given up. THis is the Easy thing to do giving up, but we can't give up we must keep lifting high the royal banner and proclaim Jesus is Lord. I am so thankful that my Lord didn't give up on the cross he finished what he came to do and we must finish this race even with its many stumbling blocks and many turns we don't understand.

II. We could just run.We could do what Elijah did run from the problem, run from the situation. We could just go on and never deal with the problem. We could act like it was never there. This don't work either because until we deal with the problem it will always come back until it is dealt with. HOw many times have you just felt like runny from the problems when you have had enough.

III. We could just Rely.Here is what we do when we have had enough.

A. Get Spiritual Food.We need to get in the Word of God. We must seek the Lord and seek an answer to our problem.

B. Get on our Knee's.Get ahold of the Lord of hosts in our life.

C. We must hear the Voice of God. God fed Elijah and then took him into the mountains and he heard the voice of God. The only thing that gets us out of this mold is we must hear His Voice. People can try to get us out. The Pastor can try to get us out, but the only one that will get us out is God. When we hear his voice it gives us strength to go on.

In Closing We must realize that God knows everything we are going through. He knows what we need to make it through the I had Enough times. We must never give up, We must never run, but we must rely on him this may be the Lord's way of getting back in that sweet fellowship with him and leave what burden is on our heart with the Lord. I know easier said than done but I recall the vere in Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which streghteneth me. I don't understand all that we go through but I know who does and I am in his hands. He is mine and I am his. God Bless YOu Till Next Time

Where I have been?

Good Morning to all my blogging friends,

For those who check back regularly to this blog I want to thank you for your faithful support coming to read what God has given me to post. I know I have some that read that don't
comment but thank you for coming by. The reason I started this blog a couple of years ago was to put thoughts on here to help us grow as Christians. I pray that this has happen. Mostly the reason I started this blog was to bring honor and glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As many know I have taken a church in Florida that God is blessing, and I thank you for your prayers. Now to the reason for this post I decided to take a break until God tells me he wants me to continue this blog. I have not got an answer yet so that is why I have not posted. I am praying that the Lord will give me the direction my next week. If the Lord tells me no more blogging then let me let you know it is not because of lack of support from people because I said as long as one person got help, and the Lord continued to lead me I would post. Also it is not because I took a church I have more posts that I can put up now that I am preaching three times a week plus teaching Sunday School. So to my friends in blog world please keep me in your prayers as I make this decision. When the Lord gives me the answer I will post and let you know what the Lord has told me. The Progression of Backsliding

Heb 2:1-3

We live in an age for many saved people live their life backslidden. Before we get into the thought this morning let us realize that each one of us are capable of any sin if we are not being led by the Holy Ghost. You ask what is backsliding I believe that it is when we lose ground in our spiritual life. I would asked this morning that you all look at your life and see where you are at spiritually with the Lord. I pray that we look at this progression and see if we have fallen in any of these areas.

I. Neglecting. The first thing we start doing before we get backslidden is we start neglecting spiritual things in our life. There are several reasons why we could neglect sometime it is because we let sin in our life, sometimes it is because we go through storms. What do we start neglecting.
We neglect the Word of God. How are your studying habits today compared to other times in your life. Do u spend less time in the Word than you use too. If there is one thing I am trying o get across to the church I pastor is we must spend time in his Word if don't we will not grow, and if we don't grow we will begin drifting into backsliding.
We neglect Prayer in our life. Pray is the essential key in our Christian Life a person that has fellowship with the Lord will grow in Christ. Don't we sometimes start neglecting prayer in our life and find ourself drifting from the Lord.

II. Deflecting.
We become dulled or bored with spiritual things. Heb 5:11 tells us that the Hebrews had become dull of hearing. Have you ever been in the Lord's house and started counting things I don't know maybe the lights in the church, or sometimes churches have tiles and start counting tiles while the preacher is preaching. YOu start deflecting what is being preached, or here is one lots of Christians have problems with start deflecting the message to others like I know Bro or Sister Johnson needed that. We start deflecting what the Lord wants to show us through a message. I believe we can find something in any biblical message to apply to our life, even if it is on salvation we can think back to when he saved us.

III. Rejecting. It starts with neglect and then goes to deflecting, and lastly we start rejecting. we then start rejecting the Holy SPirit in our life. He starts telling us things to get out of our life and we just don't listen. We get to the point where we do not hear the voice of God in our lifes. This is serious position to be in as a Christian. We begin to reject the things we know our truth. You say Bro I don't do that well Praise God because I know in my life there has been times in my life to where I dropped my standards the Lord showed me because I wasn't right with him.

In closing I know this that if we are not closer to the Lord today than we were yesterday we are backslidden. I asked you this question Are you backslidden if not continue to keep your focus on Christ. God Bless YOu till next time.

Walking on Water

I preached this message on Sunday Morning and Sunday Night the Lord got ahold of the first point and preached on that for several minutes on Sunday and I felt the Lord was done that morning so we finished it that night. I pray that you would pray for the church I pastor I believe they want to change and see God do great things.

Matt 14:23-33

This story is the story of Peter walking on Water. Peter in our eyes did the impossible. NOw on the ship there are 11 other disciples that stayed on the ship in comfort. For us to do the impossible in life we have to get out of the ship. Many Christians stay on the ship because of several reason.
1. Friends our on the ship. We don't want to leave our friends behind on the ship. HOwever sometimes we must forsake those friends and get out of the boat.
Family our on the boat. Our church is full of family that are related and they really are comfortable with one another. To get out of the boat would mean that they would have to seperate from family.
Fellowship on the ship. We have a good time on the ship. Yes storms may come just like in our story but we always get through the storm.

As Christians God wants to do the impossible and I believe this next year we need to walk on Water which exercises our faith in the Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to change some things in our life so we can be more effective for Christ.

I Walk on Water Concerning our Seperation.
The Bible tells us to come out from among them and be ye seperate. Christians have become to much like the world. Seperation also deals with us seperating ourselves to the Lord. One area that I believe we can seperate is
I Dress- The bible tells us to dress modestly. When things are shown that should not be showed then you are not dressing modestly. My job is to lift a high standard at the House of God, I am not a dictator so you must take your clothes and talk to the Holy Ghost of God. Take your blouses or shirts and asked the Holy Ghost do these glorify you. Take your dresses, and skirts, and pants if you are a lady and if you are a man take your pants and shorts and get alone with the Holy Ghost and asked him if they glorify him. If the Holy Ghost says it is alright whom am I to disagree with the Holy Ghost.

II. Daily Habits. I believe all of us have things that we can seperate from even if we are growing in Christ.
Tobacco Products that some Christians that I love still have a problem with if they went to the Holy GHost and said do these Glorify you know that he would say no. Most Christians would never ask the Holy Ghost because they are comfortable doing what they are doing.
The Things we listen too. Take your country, rock, rap, love songs and contemporary Christian get alone with the Holy GHost and asked him do these glorify you. Remember we are to bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ in all that we do. I Co 10:31.
The Things we watch- Take your movies get alone with the Holy GHost and asked the Holy Ghost do these movies glorify you. The programs that we watch on T.V. Holy GHost do these programs glorify you.
I will put part two up later this week, but let me close in saying this for us to do the impossible we must get this area of seperation done. Some may read and disagree with what I have said, however I wonder how many of you will actually take whatever you are doing in life and asked the Holy Ghost if he is pleased many will not and therefore we will never see the impossible done in our lives.

Praise the Lord we have made it to another year. This last year has been amazing. The beginning of 2007 we were heart broken over losing the two foster children we had for 9 months, but God got us though that hard time with family and several friends at Eaglesview Baptist Church. Then after waiting for several years God opened up the door for us to Pastor in Florida. It has been such a blessing. We have some of the greatest people you would ever want to know. I am so looking forward to what God is going to do through his church, and through his man. I preached Sunday Night at the end of my message on some goals we should have in our Christian Life this next year. It all centers around getting closer to the Lord. I want to challenge each of those that read this blog to do several things as I have challenge our church. The first thing I want to challenge you to do is become a better student of the Word of God. People in our churches just don't know there Bible and that is a shame to them. God gave us his Word to lead and direct us. I want to challenge you not only to read the Word of God, but to obey what God tells you through his Word. Secondly I want to Challenge you to become a Prayer Warrior. This is one area I have asked God to help me in, and that is to have a stronger prayer life. I have had times of being strong, but lots of times it ends in mediocricy. Learn to get ahold of the Lord on a daily basis. Lets make a commitment that we are not just going to use him as a spare tire this year when we are in trouble but that we will go to him in the valley and on the mountain. Thirdly I want to challenge you to be a soulwinner. I challenge our church this year to strive to get one person in the house of God. There are still people out there that need Jesus for salvation we just need to be intune with the Holy Ghost to reach those people. Make a commitment to try your best to lead one person to Christ this year. Lastly I want to encourage you to stay in the middle of God's Will. He has a plan for each of our lives and the best thing I can say is stay in his perfect will. I was given a sailboat in Dec 2006 that sits on my computer desk soon to be in my church office. The Will of God will never lead you where the Grace of God can not keep you. My friends that read this blog lets get as close to the Lord this year because you never know the trumpet could sound this year. God Bless you during this new year.

Matt 2:2 Saying Where is he that is born King of the Jews?

I love this time of year where we celebrate Christ's birth. We have two more day until we celebrate the birth of our Lord. Many during this time will have family that come from out of town, or they will leave to see family. We probably all have our Christmas trees and decorations up, and hopefully today many will go to the House of God this morning. We have the wise men in this passage of scripture that are seeking the Christ child. They go about searching and they find him with his mother mary. There are some things we see from the wise men first they fell down and worshipped him. If there is one thing we must do this season is we must find time to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is worthy to be worshipped this morning. They also did something else they gave him gifts in the passage of Scripture. The wise men each brought him a gift. The First Gift was that of Gold. This represents that he is the king. Even though he came as a little baby he was still the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He was still God in the flesh. The Second Gift was Frankensciene this represents his priesthood. I am so thankful that we have a high priest this morning. I am thankful that he took is blood to God the Father and it satisfied the demands of a Holy God, and we can be washed in that blood. Lastly we have myrhh and we know this represents that he came to die. He was Born to Die that we might live. Now with that all said What will your gift be to our Lord and Saviour? I know what he wants from us this year more than anything. He wants our life. He wants to be in control. When we get saved we give the Lord our heart, but sometime after we get saved we take back our life and do our own thing. We find in Romans 12:1 our reasonable service is presenting our lives a living sacrifice. He wants 100 percent of me and if he doesn't have 100 percent then I am not truly right with God. Let me asked this question in closing Does he have your desires and dreams this morning? Does he lead your direction this morning, or our you in control. Why don't you give him what he has wanted for years now. Give him your life so he can do what he wants with you.

I hope this post is a challenge to our heart to see if he has us this morning. I want to wish all those that come to this site a Merry Christmas. What God Expects?

I was thinking and just pondering on how great a God we serve. He knows everything we do or say before we ever say it. I was thinking how he saved us and how he has guided us to learn more about him. I was also thinking about this question. What does God want today from his creation. He created everything for his purpose and for his glory. God is so good to us. In his word he tells us want he wants from us. I believe we can look at these things and find that we may be able to do better in them. I believe God has something for the lost also,

To the Sinner God wants them to seek forgiveness of Sin.

Remember according to Peter 3:9 God wants all to come to repentance. God wants all to be saved even though all will not be saved. He made a way through Jesus for all to be saved. He gives everyman the choice of being saved but sadly so many reject the Lords call to Salvation. I believe it will be a sad day for God when he has to cast some of his creation that rejects him to be cast into the Lake of Fire.

To the Saved God wants fellowship.

God desire from the time he created Adam was to fellowship with man. God has always had a desire to talk to his creation. We know sin stopped that fellowship so can allowed the sacrifices of animals to atone for sin, but one day he sent his son to die and then sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in his creation so we can have fellowship with God. I know in my life I don't fellowship as much as I can with my Lord. I wonder how many Christians in the world hasn't even fellowship with God today. God is waiting to hear from us today.

To Saved God wants us to have Faith.If there is one area I believe sometimes I lack in it is trusting God. He wants his children to be able to come to him at all times. The sad thing is most of the time we come to him when he is the last resort. The bible tells us in I John whatsoever is not of faith is sin. It is also tells us it is impossible to believe God without faith. We have saving faith but sometimes we lack that living faith.

To the Saved God wants us to Forgive.

This is what God wants from his children we must learn to forgive when someone hurts us. This was something that I had a problem with for a while and allowed myself to get bitter. That is always a bad thing. Remember the word tells us to always forgive no matter what the pain that was caused. We can not be right with God and not forgive. God wants his children to learn this principle of forgiveness. When someone don't accept our forgiveness that is on them. It is sad when God children hold grudges for years. There is no joy and there is no peace when we hold grudges.In closing there are many other things that God wants from us but this is what the Lord put on my heart tonight. If we are lacking in any of these areas may we ask the Lord to help us he will not turn us away. Till next time God bless you

The Day After the Rapture

I Thess 4:13-18

I preached this message Sunday Morning and Praise be to God. We had a 16 year old get saved, and we had a young married woman get saved that people had been praying for several years. Praise the Lord because he worthy.

We live in a world that is getting worse every day. The Bible tells us that the love of many would wax cold. I believe we are in that day. If you look at the middle east I believe we are seeing the birth pangs of the translation of the saints of God. As introduction we as children of God should be looking for that blessed hope Titus tells us. Most Christians our not looking for that hope because they are doing the wrong things in their life. Second the Bible tells us in Timothy that we are too love the appearing of the Lord. The only way we will love him is if we are looking for him. I believe we will have a group of Christians that will be awarded when he comes and I believe there will be a group who will be ashamed which group will you be in. Now I want to borrow your imagination and take to trips in the future and preach on the Day after the Rapture. The first trip will be the scene in heaven.

I. The Scene in Heaven.
What a day that will be when we leave this earth and get to heaven. There will be no more sin, sorrow, pain or death. As we look at those in have we see a few things going on.
I. There is a Reunion.
There is a little girl that died at a early age and she is being reunited with her momma and daddy what a happy day for that family.
There is a grandaddy that love his family and died and now there is his wife being reunited with him.
All over heaven there is Reunions going on. Momma's, Daddy's brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews. Church members. What a reunion is going on.

II. There is Rejoicing go on.
There is that brother for years that walked with a cane it is gone and he is having a shouting time on the Street of God. There is that Sister that couldn't see and now she see's perfectly. There is that preacher that preached the truth for years. ( Thank God for a Preacher that has not Compromise) He is having a time over there. Who is that over there that is the one I been waiting to meet my whole life. It is the Redeemer

III. There is the Redeemer
There he is the one that saved my soul when I was only 17 years old. The one that washed my sins all away. There he is the one that walked with me through the valleys, and storms in my life. The one whose presence I have gotten in when I prayed to him. The one who was my strength when I was weak. The one I sang about for all those years. There he is that Redeemer. I fall before the king of kings and weep for what he has done for me. What a day it will be when we see the redeemer. What a scene in heaven now we must take another trip back down to earth. Lets go I know you don't want to leave this place but we must see what is left behind.

The Scene on Earth.
As thrilling as the day will be in heaven there will be a day or sorrow on the earth. Lets see what is going on.
There will be Confusion.
Lets knock on this door. Here is comes a teenage girl. Where is my mom and dad? I went into there room and they are gone where did they go? Oh Jesus must have come I thought that was a fairy tale, weeping bitterly.
Lets knock on this door. Here is comes a mother screaming where are my children. What happen to my children. I got up and there bed is made but they are not in it. Oh I should have went to church with them.
Lets knock on this churches door. Wow look at all the church members that did not make it . They are at he altar weeping bitterly trying to get saved. There are so many that missed the rapture. How sad they continue playing the part and now they are lost.

There will be Chaos. Look at all the fires going on. Look at the car crashes. Smell the burning of flesh. People are screaming in the streets looking for loved ones and they have to go through the streets of that mess.

There will be no more chance.
The saddest day about the day after the rapture are those who heard the truth will believe the lie and never have a chance to be saved. What do you mean? I mean if you reject Christ on this earth you will die and spend eternity in the Lake of Fire. Today is the Day of Salvation .

To close we have went through two very real scenes. Let me ask you a question. Do you know him? Have you been Born Again or are you just playing games. For the saved person are you ready to meet him today or do you have to get right with him. I pray that you do what you must do today. Till next time God Bless.

The Faithfulness of God

As I was pondering on what to put up tonight I just want to brag on God's Faithfulness.

They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. Lam 3:23

I was seeking the Lord and he led me to this verse in Lamentations. As I was thinking about this verse I was reminded of my lack of faithfulness in the weak times in my life. There have been times since I have been saved that I haven't been faithful. We should be faithful in our Studying the Scriptures, faithful in Our Supplication, faithful in Our Soulwarning, and faithful in our service. I think sometimes we forget that God expects us to be faithful in these areas. There verses before that talk about his mercies. God is so full of mercy toward us. I thank God that even when I am unfaithful in areas of my life he is always faithful to me. How has God been faithful to me.
I. He Provides For Me.
God has come through in more ways that just providing Finacially. I was thinking how times I have been discouraged and he has been that faithful friend that sticks closer than a brother. When I need him to come through in my prayer life He always provides an answer even if it ain't the one I want to hear.
He has provided comfort when love ones have died. He has been so faithful in provided for me.
II. He Protects Me.
I was thinking how many times has the Devil wanted to destroy us and Jesus stands up says that is one of mine. He protects me from the fiery darts of the devil. He protects when I run to his shelter and he is a strong tower. I thank God that he has been faithful through the onslaughts of the devil.
There are definitely other ways he has been faithful. He has been faithful with His promises to me. He promises us that he will never leave us nor forsake us. He promises that one day he will come back and take us home where we will live forever with him. My question to you this night is how has God been faithful to you, and also to encouraged you to always be faithful to him to the best of you ability. In closing I thank God that he never gives up on me for my lack of faithfulness and even when I am not that faithful he is always there with loving arms to accept me back. That is real faithfulness. Three Crosses

Luke 23:39-45

This is the message I preached this last Sunday Morning at church. I pray that it is a blessing.

I want to borrow your imagination and lets go back to a day of sadness yet a day of gladness for the Christian. I want to go back to Calvary this morning. Walking down this road is a Man that they call Jesus. You can not recognize this man. You see he has been beaten serverly with a cat of nine tails, and they have placed a crown of thorns on his head and he is bleeding profusely throughout his body. Now we are coming to the place of Crucifixon there are two other men there they are screaming that they are innocent but Jesus says not a word. He gives the Soldiers his left hand and then his right as they put nails through his hands and now they put one through is feet and they now put the cross in place. A giant thud is heard and now every bone is out of joint in Jesus body. He is laboring for each breath. Now we come to these three men on the cross lets see what they are saying.

The First Cross is the Rejecting Cross. This man is railing on Jesus. There are many in this world that continue to question Jesus and they will go their grave rejecting the Savior. I see a couple of problems wrong with this man.
First He has the wrong Picture of Christ. He said if you be the Christ. My friend he is the Christ. For a person to be saved they have to recognize his deity as being the Son of God.
Second we see he has the wrong picture of himself. He still goes down and never admits that he is wrong. For a person to be saved they have to recongnize that they are wrong. They have sinned against a Holy God and they deserve to be in a Hell. Now lets go to the second cross.

The Second Cross is the Repenting Cross. This man is different than the other man. I still believe that a person must repent to be saved. I know this is not popular but it is true. This second man recognized some things.
Recognized his problem. He realize he was guilty of what he had done. We recognized spiritually that we have sinned against a Holy God.

Recognized his penalty. realized that he deserved to die for his deed. For a person to be saved they have to recognize someone has to die for there sin. Thank God he died for all sin, and all a person has to do is recieve this gift, or they can die for their own sin and go to Hell.

Recieved a Promise.
This man didn't have to do good works, or did he have to be baptized he asked the Lord and the Lord told him today he would in paradise. Thank God that when we got saved we recieved the promise of eternal life and nothing can change that. Now lets go to the Third Cross and this is my favorite

The Redeeming Cross
I thank God that Jesus came to redeem me from my sin. How could he redeem us you may ask?
The Sinless One He was perfect never comitting a sin nor could he have committed a sin. He was the Perfect Lamb of God as John the Baptist said.

The Sin Bearer
He bore every sin that you can imagine from the vilest that you can think of to the least vilest sin. He took every sin upon himself according to II Corinthians 5.

The Savior
He saves his people from their sin. Oh What a Savior is mine. I don't deserve it, but I thank God that he is my Savior.

The Soon Coming King. This Jesus did die that day on the cross and then was buried but thank God that He got up on the third day and he is on the right hand of God making intercession for me and you. But one day this Jesus is going to come back and rescue us out of this wicked world.
To Close I wonder are you that rejecting cross, or have you repented of your sins and trusted Christ. ONe day every person will stand before the Lord and have to give an account to the redeemer.

The Need for Revival

I preached this message yesterday morning and the Lord really met with us in a special way. I believe this is the hope of the new testament church today. I am tired of hearing about yesterday, or several years ago. I believe we still serve the same God with the same power who wants to send revival more than we want revival. So I pray the message encourages you and convicts you to get alone in that secret place and ask the Lord to send revival to your soul that you can make a difference in your family and in your church, and in your job.

The Reason for Revival

I believe there are several reasons for revival We look at our nation and see there is a need for it. We look at our homes and see there is a need for it, we look at our churches and see there is a need for it. I believe we must get personal about this thing of revival. We need to draw a circle and step in the middle and say I need revival.

A. Lost First Love. Rev 2:4

The church of Ephesus was doing lots of things right, and they hated evil but the Lord still had somewhat against them that they had left that first love. Do you remember when you first got saved how much you loved Jesus. You were willing to do anything for him those first couple of weeks but then we realize we have enemies and we started drifting. I believe the first thing we do is fall back in love with the one that saved us.

B. Loose Living.

Christians started doing things that they would have never done when they first got saved. They started accepting sin a little and time, and things changed and we started to have pet sins. I still believe in Holiness and that I know I have not reach it and that I have plenty to strive for.

C. Lukewarmness.

It is time for Christians to get off the fence. Most Christians want to live with one foot in the world , and one foot in the church. This will never do Christ wants us living one hundred percent for him. This is what is pleasing to him. I know I look at these three things and say woe is me.

II. The Requirements of Revival II Chronicles 7:14

humble ourselves. There is too much pride in the church today, and it makes God sick. However I believe the greatest way we humble ourselves for revival is just admitting that yes Lord I need revival.

pray - we need to get back to holy ghost praying. This 5 minutes stuff that we are all guilty of doing sometimes just won't do. We need to get back to the throne room of God. God hears the prayers of a clean heart. If we really want revival we do need to start doing business with God

seek his face- We need to focus back on Christ. We need to get our eyes off of us or off of circumstances back on the Lord Jesus Christ. We need to look upon his face once again.

turn from their wicked ways. The first three are hard but I believe all us know we can do thiese things with Christ help, however this last one is the one God is waiting for and that repenting. We just need to stop playing games, and get real with ourselves and with God and get the junk out of our life. We need God to shake us up and down and get the mess the hinders us from walking closer to him. What sin hinders you the most in your life we need to get down and truly repent of it. Notice something else about this verse God is not waiting for the wicked world to change their ways, he is looking for his people to get right with him. The reason we are not having revival is not the world God expects that sinfulness from the world, it is in the church house from the pulpit to the pew that God is waiting to get right.

The Results of Revival.

I believe the results our different for every person I know we need to be revived in our soul.

I believe number one we would see the presence of God shadow us in our churches and in our lives. We must have his presence everyday, and so many Christians live without it and really our missing something.

I believe number two we would see the power of God show up in our lives and our churches.

People would start being saved because they would finally want what we have. Our lives would be lived different.

People would start getting right in the church because we would get pride out of the way and start going to people that we have ought against and get right.

To close I hope we are challenge in our hearts to see where we are standing with the Lord. It only takes one person to get on fire for God for a church to be changed.

Ephesians 2:1-10

The apostle Paul is writing to the church of Ephesus here and he starts out my saying that we have been quickened. We have been made alive I believe it is time for God's people to showing how alive they are in the house of God. God's People will praise a touchdown, a homerun, a win from their favorite team, but when it comes down to sinners getting saved, or people in getting help in the house God we find quieteness. How sad? The bible says we were dead in tresspasses and sins and he made us alive that is enough to shout about. Now lets look at this passage at a few things.

I. Our Sinfulness.
It says in the past that we were like this. When Jesus saved us we should be different. The old life should be just that. Too many saved people are still living in the old life and they wonder why they are in mess.
The Problem of Sin. Adam sinned and all men are now sinners. Mankind has a problem that seperates him from the God of heaven and that is sin. Our sin is an abomination in God's sight.
The Pit of Sin. We were in a pit. He can save anyone no matter how far they have gone he can save them.
The Penalty of Sin- Is eternity in the Lake of Fire. IF God's people realized what he saved them from there wouldn't be a dead service in the house of God ever. We have just got use to being saved.

II. Our Soverign
I am so thankful that God butted into my life. I was going my own direction but he butted in. Praise God for the But God. He shows a couple of things here.
A. Mercy. Rich in mercy. Everabounding. His mercy never dries up I need his mercy every single day of my life. I am so thankful that he holds back judgment from my life.
B. Love- What great love was showed by the soverign. He sent his son down to earth because he loved us. When we are bad he loves us and when we are good he loves us. What great love he shows to us. It was a good day when I realized that I had to do nothing to earn his love it changed my life.
C. Grace. His grace saved us, but it is grace that we need every day. We are grow in grace. HIs grace is sufficent when we are going through all things. I am so thankful I have to do nothing to be saved.

III. Our service. Verse 10
We are to be working for him not to be saved, but because we are saved. It is our reasonable service to surrender everything to the Lord. This is a everyday surrender. One of the things that bother me more than anything is that we have to many people sitting in the pew and doing nothing. It sad that most of the work gets done by 10 percent of the people. If we could get a church where everyone is doing what they are suppose too, it would be amazing what God could do with that church. My question is since he made us alive and has given us everything we need to be successful in this life What are you doing for him?

In closing God has been good to us, I believe it is time for us to yield everything to him and let him live is life through us.

John 11:35
Jesus Wept

This the shortest verse in the bible but really it is a powerful verse. We really don't know why Jesus wept. Some say it was because his friend was dead. Some say it was because of their unbelief. I really don't know why but Jesus showed his human side before he showed is God side. As I am sitting here thinking. Where has the churches tears went? The church has lost its tears. The reason we know this is look at the world we live in, but not only that look at what is going on in our churches in majority nothing is happening in the church. Why have we lost are tears is the question. WHen was the last time you weep about something spiritual? The sad thing is I don't know when the last time I actually wept over something spiritual.

Are we weeping over souls? THe bible gives us a wonderful promise in his word that I believe sometimes we don't get. Ps 126:5-6 Why should weep?THey are going to Hell. Are we really broken about people going to Hell? When we weep it shows we are broken over something. When was the last time we got broken about a loved one going to Hell, or a neighbor or a friend going to Hell.

Are we weeping over our Sin?Have we been broken about when we fail the Lord. THe problem with most saved people is they never get broken over their sins. I believe for real repentance to take place in a Christians life we will get broken about are sin. One of the reason why the church is not broken is because they have hardened their hearts. When are heart is not tender we will not be broken. THe holy Spirit deals with us and deals with us and we reject and reject and finally we get used to the dark, or use to living in the flesh and it don't bother us like it use too. WHat we need in America is for the church to get right get broken over their sin, and then we will see God do something.In closing I believe we need a revival in tears again. I know I do. I remember when my heart was so tender that I would weep when I messed up. I remember when my heart was so tender that I would weep over souls. WHat has happen is I lost my tenderness and thus I don't weep no more. What we need is to fall back in love with Jesus and he will do the rest. God Bless you till next time.

Is He God to you?

I know it has been a couple more days than usual since my last post. We have been in a Tent Meeting in Jacksonville Fl. All I can say is WOW! I have never ever been in something so uplifting in my entire life. I have been to camp meetings in several places but nothing like I have been too this week. God has breathed from the first congregation, through the specials and he has been all over the preachers. Monday Night we prayed and prayed some more. We had some specials and at the end Bro Dean Mcnesse said when we get our hearts right we will be able to recieve the Preaching of God's Word.

Now to the post that God has layed on more heart to share with you all this morning. All the way throughout the Bible we are told that God is good. I know everyone of my readers would agree that God has been good to them. He saved us from the Place called Hell, we are going to a place called Heaven. He Provides our daily needs on a daily basis. He has been good to his children but he can't help it that is nature. I heard a preacher say that God wants to take us from that he is good to that he is God. Let me explain 3 months ago God was being good to me I was happily serving in a church with my friends and I was loving. However I was getting a little frustrated because I had been wanting to Pastor for a few years and I had thought God has forgotten about me. Then finally God swoop in and opened a door for me to Pastor. He showed not only that he was good, but that he was God to me. I hope I am making since this morning if blame it on the 6:30 start I think this is earliest I have ever posted. Sometimes as Children of God we don't understand what God is putting us through sometimes it is a health issue, sometimes it is a family issue, sometimes it is a financial issue but God wants to be more than good to us he wants to be God. I know several people right now that are praying for needs in their life or someone special in their life. Sometimes we don't know when the answer will come or if the answer will come. It is at this moment that God is not only good in our life, but he comes in and does what he only can and that is He becomes God to you. When situation seems hopeless and their seems to be know way that the situation is going to change God will show up and say my child I am still your God and I am in control. Praise his holy name. Mrs Marsheila if God is God he will meet that need of your child coming home. Jessica I know you are praying for God to do some things so you and Ronnie can get married He is still God and he will come through. Mrs Julie been praying for your parents to trust Jesus He is still God those prayers are not going to be unaswered. I found out the other day of a lady that prayed for her dad for 25 years 14 days and he got saved two days before he died. The situation seem hopeless but you know what God showed up. I hope I am not out of line using those names but God layed them on my heart. For those also that read this understand when the situation seems hopless that God is still on the throne. Lord I thank you that you are still on the throne today and that you want to be not only good to us but you want to be God to us. My friend Is He God to You?

A Place Called Heaven

John 14:1-6

Last week we dealt with the subject of Hell. I so much rather preach on Heaven in my church but I know Hell needs to be preached also. This last week I preached on Heaven and I wanted to share a couple of things with you from this message. I pray that if you are not going to heaven that you please get saved. For those that are saved I pray that you are encouraged by what you read today.

There is not way we can truly understand what heaven will be like. The Bible gives us a glimpse of heaven, but truly we don't know much about heaven. I promise you one thing that is will be good. Praise the Lord for that. Now want to look at this passage for a few minutes.

I. The Prequisite to Heaven. Vs 6
Jesus is the Way. Buddha, Mohammed, Pope none of these are the way, for a person to get to heaven he must trust Christ to be his Savior. Acts 4:12 tells us this.
Jesus is the Truth. You can bank that every thing in the Bible is true and there is nothing false. People say how do you know what you believe is true, because God is not a liar.
Jesus is the Life. We were dead according to Eph 2:1 but when we got saved we became alive to God. We didn't start living until Jesus saved our soul.

II. The Plea from the Lord. Vs 1 He tells us not to be troubled in a world that it is easy to get troubled in He says don't let your heart fail you. I am so glad that no matter what we go through Jesus is on our side. He knows everything we are going through and therefore their is not need to worry.

III. The Promise from the Lord. I will come again. I am so glad that we have a hope that we can hold to this morning. That hope is a blessed hope as the Word of God says. One day I believe very soon he will perform his promise and come and take his church home to heaven. What a glorious day that will be.

IV. The Place called Heaven.
Place of the Redeemed. We have been redeemed the Bible says in pslams Let the redeem of the Lord say So. God's people should be broadcasting far and wide that they are redeemed. We are redeemed through the blood. It is the blood that washes all our sins away. We get to heaven through the blood of Christ. Today people want to take the blood out but we do have a bloody religion because we had a bloody christ on the cross for those sins. Thank God for the blood. We can spend much time on that but we won't.

Place of Reunion.
I am glad when we get to the other side that their will be a reunion.
A Reunion with those that we loved. I know probably all of us have someone that loved the Lord and went on to heaven. We will see them one day again.
Reunion with those that we labored with. We all know preachers that preached us the Word of God and we labored with them.
Reunion with those that led us to Christ. When we get there we will be with the person that led us to Christ.
Place of Reward. Thank God when we get there that I will be able to earn rewards so I can give them back to Jesus. I believe the greatest reward we will have is being able to spend eternity with those that God gave the increase and we saw saved. There are five crowns that we will not get into. I believe every Christian can earned four of these and Pastors get the fifth.
Place of Rejoicing.
There is not much rejoicing going on in the house of God. So many people can rejoice over their favorite team but not say nothing in the house of God. We need to realize we will be rejoicing forevermore in Heaven.
There will be Singing
There will be Shouting
One the greatest day of rejoicing will be when we get to see Satan cast into the Lake of Fire what a day of rejoicing that will be. So much more about heaven that we didn't get too, but today I want to say I am so glad that i know, that I know, that I know I am going to spend eternity in this place.

A Study from Joshua Chapter 2

I preached through this chapter on Wednesday so I figured I would give you some truths that the Lord showed me.

We find ourselves leaving Chapter 1 with the people telling Joshua we will obey and follow what the Lord wants us to do. It is always good for a church to follow the man of God in the direction he feels the church should go. God will show the leader more than he will show those he is leading. Now we come Joshua telling to spies to spy out the land and we are introduced to a lady by the name Rehab the Harlot.
The first truth I was showed is God can save anyone. It don't matter how far someone has been. It don't matter if they are drunk, a drug dealer, fornicator, or a religious person can save them. God can go as deep as he needs to to pull people out of the pit of sin. Some he goes way deep for, but has to save us all the same way.

The Second truth we find in this Chapter is God can use anyone. I get tired of hearing people say you don't know what I have done surely God can't use me. God can use anyone at anytime. Remember he used a donkey to speak to The prophet Ballim. God used a little boy with five fishes and two loaves of bread to feed 5,000 men plus woman and children. God can use anyone as long as they are available. A child of God does need to be clean, but one of things that bothers me is when people in church are just sitting on the pew and there is a great work that needs to be done. I am tired of hearing people that use to serve the Lord, Last time I checked we are not discharged from this army of the Lord.

The last truth I want to share is the Faith that Rehab had. Faith is one thing sometimes
that we lack as Christians we believe God will do with someone else but not with us. We have this woman that hides these spies and then has a request for them that her family would be saved when they come and take the land. The spies give her a promise that as long as she has that scarlet thread in the window that when they come they will take everyone in her home and they would be saved. Of course we could talk about the blood that has saved us, but we will not on this post. But she waited a few days and then here comes the children of Israel they whip up the people in Jericho, but the Harlot is saved and her family because she believe what was told her. You know we still serve a God who knows all our problems and is bigger than anything we are going through. We just need to learn to trust God. Remember in closing the it is impossible to please God without faith. These are just a couple of thoughts the Lord gave me on Chapter 2 in Joshua. I pray they were a blessing and a help. A Place Called Hell

I preached this yesterday morning at church. I pray it challenges to reach as many people as we can that are heading to this awful place.

Luke 16:19-31

We all have heard the story told us in this passage of Scripture we all know that Hell is a real place. It doesn't better what a religious group says or what the Pope says. The Word of God is Final and those that reject the Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity away from the Lord.
We find several people that will find their place in this awful place if they do not get saved.
A. We find the reprobate.
B. We find the rebellious
C. We find the religious. We have many people across our land in churches that have religion but they have no idea what a relationship is with Christ. Religion keeps people in bondage, when the Lord saves us he sets us free from bondage.

I The Reality of Hell
A. No Forgiveness, They cry out in Hell for forgiveness it is too late.
B. No Family or Friends- Hell is place of total separation yet you hear screams in Hell.
C.Flame- The Richman said he was tormented in a flame. The People that God to this place will burn for eternity

II. The Request from Hell.
The Richman requested a couple of things that fell on death ears. The first request was
A Request for Mercy. Timeout here for a second I thank God that he gave me multiple chances to be saved. I definitely did not get what I deserved. The rich man just asked for a drop of water and it fell on death ears
A Request for Missionary. To go to his brothers to tell them about this awful place that he was in.

III. Our Responsiblity to those going to Hell.
This was where i wanted to get on this post. I asked you do you believe in Hell and of course you would say yes, however does your actions speak louder than your words. Do u tell people about Christ is my question.
Our Responsiblity is to Warn
We are too warn as many people as we come across. Do u hand tracts out? When was the last time you took time out to present the gospel to someone. I have to say it has been too long for me.
Our Responsibilty is to Weep
When was the last time we weep over a soul going to Hell. Our tears have dried up for lost people therefore our churches our starting to dry up because there is no new life coming into the church.
Our Responsiblity is to Win.
You say that is God's job I agree but Prov tells us He that winneth souls in Wise. I believe if our heart is where the Lord can use us he will give us souls for our labour.

To Close remember the Promise of Ps 126:5-6 I still believe the Bible I believe if we go forth weeping that we will see souls saved. May God give us a burden and convict over reaching lost people for him.

God has given us Victory

Joshua 1:3
Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon that have I given you,as I said unto Moses.

I am starting to preach through the book of Joshua starting tonight as I was studying this morning God spoke to my heart on several verses so I thought I would share on what God showed me on this verse. I pray it is a blessing and a help.

Now we all know the story that God chose Moses to get the children of Israel out the the land of Egypt and then they went through the Wilderness. We know that Moses was given the law and he disobeyed God so he could not go the land of Victory. Moses dies and now we start a new conquest with a man by the name of Joshua. Joshua a type of Christ leads the children of Israel into the promise land. The Law never is used to get people into victory it is always used to showed you can not have victory without Christ. Now we come to verse and God gave them 300,000 square feet of land yet they only possessed about 30,000 square feet. How sad God had given them the land yet they did not believe God enough to take all God had given them. The enemies in these other parts have been a thorn in the side of Israel even to this day. NOw looks at our life for a second today. God has given us victory through is Son Jesus Christ, yet many Christians only get about a tenth of the Spirtual Blessings God has for them. How sad this is in many of our lives. God has given us victory over sin, and all we have to do is believe by faith and allow the Holy Spirit to take those area's that we struggle in out of our lives by faith. The devil has done a good job of keeping God's people in bondage thinking that they have no victory over sin in every area of their life. We wonder why their is not power of God in our lives and that is because their is sin in our lives that Christ already took care of at the cross of Calvary. We have victory over self. God's people live most of their lives directed by the old man. We give into the oldman that should be dead. We must kill the old man everyday. For without the death of the old man we will continue to not have the filling of the Holy Spirit that we must have to live a life of Victory. The Victory is there we just have to submit and take what God has already given us. The reason Christians have no joy is because they are still in control of something that does not belong to them. Lastly we have victory over Satan. Now we can not defeat Satan on our own. As matter of fact we will get whipped everytime. However we come in the name of the Lord, and fight Satan we have Victory already. Why? Because our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ as already whipped the devil on Calvary. Praise God for that.

So Christian I one question to asked you as I asked myself. Are we resting in the Victory that God has already given us or are we still trying to live this life on our own. I believe was we yield to the Holy Ghost our lives will be even more blessed by the Lord.

A Generation That Knows Not God

I preached this yesterday morning at church. I pray it is a blessing but challenges you also.

Judges 2:1-10
Before we get started the book before this God used Joshua for many great victories. God chose Joshua to take over for Moses when the children of Israel went into the promise land. We can go into all the battles that God allowed Joshua to win, but we won't do that today. Now we come to our passage and Joshua is dead, and the generation that was alive when he was around is dead and now their raises up a generation that knows not God. I am sad to say that today their is a generation that knows not God nor his power.
They don't know the peace of God. Many our lost or they don't know if they are saved. There is nothing like having the peace of God in our lives.
They don't know the presence of God. Many of our young people in churches have no idea what it means to be in the presence of God publically or privately.
They don't know the power of God. They haven't seen God show his mighty power in their life, or their parents life, or more sadly the church.

Whose to blame?
Peer Pressure is to blame. Romans 12:2 They our pressured to be like the world, and not different.
Parents are to blame. They live one way in the house of God, but another at home, and kids don't want it.
Preachers are to blame. There is no fire coming from most pulpits telling kids what God says about them living a Christian Life. Some Preachers don't even preach against sin, they give you love message, and yet kids our in sin.'

What kind of generation our we raising?
I. Lazy Generation
Lazy physically. This generation has got it made. When God's Power was moving is when kids had no idle time. Now you have T.V. or videogames that takes most of the kids attention. THere is nothing wrong with these things as long as they are in their place.
Lazy spirtually. Most kids wouldn't know the first thing about studying the Scriptures, because their parents don't even study. Most kids don't know how to get ahold of God because they have never heard their parents get ahold of God.

II. Lukewarm Generation
Most kids just want to sit on the fence. They want to stay right in the middle. They want to go with the flow. We don't have many teens in our churches that want God to do much with their life. This is sad. I believe God wants to use our young people in a mighty way. Or this happens just when they get on fire their parents, or another sibling or a family member throws a wet blanket on them and makes them feel bad by telling them they are taking this Jesus thing to far. Our young people get around those that don't want to make a difference instead of finding someone on fire, and go with that person.

III. Looking Generation.
Praise God we do have someone young people that are looking for something different. I am in this generation that i am tired of hearing how it used to be, God has not changed what he did before he can do again. I believe our young people are looking for something real to happen in the church house. I believe when this happens God will get the most glory out of our young people.

Just a few thoughts I jotted down from preaching of course the message was much longer. I preached close to an hour I believe, but I pray what i wrote will challenge someone to make a difference in this generation.

Prayer

One of the most neglected things in a Christians life is this thing of prayer. People talk about it all the time but truly most Christians have a hard time spending quality time with the Lord. I know even in my life I have had times where I just prayed to get through with it. For the midweek service I dealt with this thing of prayer for a few minutes. I pray that it blesses and helps you. We find the passage in Luke Chapter 11 the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray and then Jesus gives the model prayer. I believe we find four things that need to be in our prayer to the Lord.

I Adoration- We just need to spend time with God thanking him for who he is. He is Holy, He is Just, He is Longsuffering, He is Merciful, Praise God he is Good. Then adoring him for what he has done for us personally. He has Saved us, He protects, He allows us to get in his presence, He has given us peace, he has given us Grace. Just adoring him the Bible tells us he know are needs before we give them. It is good sometimes to just get alone with him and adore him.

II. Confession- This is very important. So many times we go to the Lord with an unclean heart and we wonder why he don't answer us. Ps 66:18 tell me the Lord will not hear me if I have sin in my heart and won't get it right. I am so glad that we can go to him and confess our sins. Confession truly is good for the soul. There is nothing like going to the Lord and getting clean all over again. We must learn to keep short accounts of sin. So when we do go to him we don't have to spend several minutes getting right with him.

III. Intercession- Praying for others. This what I believe Jesus truly wanted us to learn when he was on this earth. He wanted us to esteem others above ourselves. We truly need to pray for others. We need to pray for the lost, we need to pray for our country, we need to pray for our Pastor, and his family. We should not go a day without at least lifting up the Pastor with a Lord please help the Pastor today, we need to pray for those in our churches who have burdens on their heart. We should become know as someone that someone can trust to take their problem or burden to the Lord with.

IV. Petition- Praying for our needs. God knows what we need before we pray, but praying for our spirtual needs, and physical need, and mental needs and emotional needs. I believe this should be the least part of our praying. Remember the Bible says in Matthew 6:33 Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

If Tomorrow Never Comes

I preached this yesterday morning.

So many people live life like it is never going to end. We are all going to be taken out of this world one way or another. We will either go in the rapture which I hope I will go end but if not we will all die one day. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. If you go to the graveyard you will find graves for babies all the way up to elders. Death is not a respect of persons.

Death can come Suddenly. It can happen at any moment. Heb 9:27 tells is there is appointment for everyone and we will not miss this appointment.
Death is Sobering. Alot of people get saved at funerals. You see someone in a casket and it makes you realize that one day if Jesus don't come we will all lay there.
Death is Sad. We cry many tears when loved ones go on to be with the Lord.
With all that said if we knew tomorrow that are life would end. I believe we would all change some of the things we do. I want share three things you would find people doing.

I Some you would find Repenting.
Our churches are full of people who want to play church. They come to church but outside the church they live like the devil. God changes peoples lives. I still believe that when God saves he will change your life from the inside out. The Bible tells us a person must repent to get to heaven. Repentance is not very popular with most soulwinners because they can not get that notch on their belts. We all know people that say they are one thing, but they don't live that life. The Bible says we need to Examine ourselves whether we be in the faith.

II. Some you would find Returning.
So many Saved people live their lives away from the Lord. No they may not stop going to church but they live their life to themselves. This is not right. God wants us to live our lives for him and through him. I believe many would be going to the Lord and asking forgiveness from the Lord. The Prodigals would come home if they knew tomorrow would never come.

III. Some you would find Reconciling.
I believe we would be amazed of how many people in church have ill feelings toward family. The Bible says we should live peaceably with all men. This is even family members that talk about us behind our back, this is family members that don't treat us right. How many moms dads children, aunts, uncles, cousins grandparents would be getting right if they knew tomorrow never came. How many in our churches would get right with one another if they knew tomorrow would never come? I believe we would see revival happen in the church if we live life like tomorrow would never come.

What Kind of Church do you Make Your Church

Yes Praise God we made it to Lake Butler, Fl. Though we had some hard see ya later's God truly blessed of with several people in our life that we truly love and will miss however we knew one day this was going to happen and now we are just where God wants us.

For my first post as an official Pastor(I like that) lol I was thinking this morning as I am going to give the church what kind of vision I have for the church that the Lord showed me something about this today. The Lord has told us that he will build his church in Matthew 16:18, and I believe this however I believe God uses his people to build the church. My question to you is if your church had a bunch of you what kind of church would you have. I want give a few things I hope we are being the best person for our church with the Lord's help.

I A Lukewarm Person
We know the book of Revelation tells us that God hates lukewarmness. However may of our churches our like this today. The reason many of our churches our like this is because many in the pew will not get off the fence. They want to live for God with one foot in the world and one foot in the church. This is not possible. God wants us to choose what side we are on. Our we going to be on the hot side. ON FIRE for him, or are we going to be on the Cold Side. We are told in I John 2:15-16 that we not to love the world neither the things in the world. What we need in our churches is people to get fire for the Lord and then we will see God do great things.

II. A Lazy Person
Do you do anything in the church for the Lord. God has not called any of us to sit on a pew. Too many people sitting on the pew while the world is going to Hell. I know that God has a specific job for every person in the body to do. Some are to teach, some to preach, some sing, some to usher. He has something for you do do. Please find it and get busy doing what the Lord has called you do . If you are doing something are you doing it with all you heart.

III. A Labouring Person
God wants us to labor in his vineyard. I would hope that all that read this are labouring in the church God has put them in. One of the greatest ways we labour in the church is telling a lost and dying world that Jesus wants to save them. The only way a church grows is two ways by telling our family and friends, and secondly by finding people that need Jesus. I have been here for four days and already have seen several people that need Jesus.

I wonder as we ponder upon this thought if we can help make our church a better church. Until next time God Bless you.

Taking a Few More Days Off

First I want to thank everyone who still visits my blog. I will let you know right now that once I get to Florida we will be posting more. I am not going to go as far as everyday but hopefully at least three times a week. We are so excited about going to Pastor down in Florida that we can't wait to see what God will do. I am also a saddened that we are leaving a church full of great friends. I asked all those that may read this that you would pray for Eaglesview Baptist Church. The Lord has allowed me to be a help for the few years to my Pastor Bro Ron Brown, but now we are leaving and he needs help in several area's of the church. I know that we serve a God that knows all about it, but I ask you to please pray that God would allow someone to step up or someone to come in. Again I asked that you do pray for me and my wife this weekend. We will be packing the truck on Friday and then spending the night at her Mom's. We will be leaving somewhere between 8 or 9 in the morning Saturday arriving somewhere around two oclock in the afternoon to start this new journey God has called us too. We will be posting sometime next week Lord Willing until then keep looking up he may come today.

Quench Not the Spirit

I know I haven't posted in a few days but I have been real busy with the move to Florida. I wanted to share something with you that I hope is a blessing and a help. Thank You for all your prayers.

I Thess 5:19 Quench Not the Spirit

THe word quench means to supress or stifle.When we get saved we get indwelled with the Holy Spirt. Thank the Lord for that because we are sealed until the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit wants to do so much in our life that will bring honor and glory to God. He is there to lead us into all truth, and to keep us on the right path. We like straying off the good path in our lives. However it seems in this preachers life I lots of times quench the Holy Spirit. The Lord tells me to do something and I stifle his presence in my life. When was the last time you prayed to the Holy Spirit remember according to scripture he is the one that prays for us when we don't know what to pray for. I was thinking how do I quench the Holy Spirit in my life.
I. Stubborness When I want my way and no one can change my mind. I know most of you are not stubborn but when I put my mind to believing something you are not going to shake me on it. It is good in the since I won't waver on the doctrines of the Bible it is bad because it tends to show up a lot in my life.
II. Speech Ephesians talks about grieving. When we get saved we are suppose to talk like a Christian. So many saved people you can't tell the difference between them and the lost. We should have godly speech. We should be slow to wrath, and think before we talk. One of the greatest ways I stifle the spirit is my reaction to things people say or do to me.

III. Silence on Soulwinning.I don't know but God has got me back on this thing of soulwinning in church and on posts and in my everyday life even though so many times I fail him in this area. We are to reach souls for Christ. When he speaks to me to witness and I don't I quench him in my life.We should strive not to quench the Holy Ghost in our lives. When we disobey the Lord whether it be him directly or by the way we treat pastors parents or other people the Lord is not happy and definitely the Holy Spirit is not happy. May the Lord help us to do better in the area of not quenching. If the Lord will let me on my next post I want to look at this thing of being sensitive to the Holy Spirit in our lives. What We Are in Christ

It has been a couple of crazy weeks. I wanted to let everyone know that reads my posts that after preaching two weekends in a row in Florida, and having a question and answer time with the church. It is now up to the church to decide if they want me as their Pastor or not. They will be voting this Sunday Evening after their service. I really feel like it is God's Will for us to be there, but it is still up to them to feel the same way about it being God's Will. I will let you all know when I find something else out.

Who have himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people zealous of good works.
I was sitting here pondering about this thought that has been on my heart most of the day. I thank God that I am saved. We have so many benefits of being in Christ that sometimes I think we forget all we are in Christ. I thank God that I don't have to go to hell, and I thank God that I get to go to heaven. I thank him that he gave me his Holy Spirit to lead and guide me in all truth. I thank God that he has given me the joy of serving him. There are some things in this verse that we are to be in Christ.
I. We are a Purchased Person.
We are been purchased. The word here is redeem. We have been bought with a price. That price was the Lord Jesus shed blood on Calvary. The bible tells that we no longer are own. We are not to be self driven but spirit led. The problem with most saved people including myself is that I have too much self in the way. Self controls so much in our life that it is no wonder we don't have the power of God today.
II. We are a Purified Person.
He purified us. He cleanse us with his blood and gives us a brand new start, and expects to live right. He expects us to live godly in this present world. He has purifed us from sin. He washed them all the way, the sad thing is that we let sin reign in our mortal body and we fail so much because we forget that we are purifed.
III. We are Peculiar Person.
We are different now that we are saved. There are things now that we do that people say we are weird. When I read the Word of God at work that is weird to a lost and dying soul. When I talk about the Lord instead of what world offers that is weird to people. When I listen to good preaching instead of the ungodly music people listen to that is weird. We are pilgrims in this land, we are to be in the world but not of it. I am reminded that This world is not my home I am only passing through. People should think that we are weird. The problem is too many have the stench of the world that are saved that the world sees no difference. Therefore they just live the same way. People should be convicted by the way we are different. I thank God that i am different.
In closing I just wanted to remind us today of what are in Christ. We need to as Christians get serious about how are lives effect other people. They either effect positively, or negativily. We are to show the Love of Jesus but we are not to compromise that love. Till next time God Bless.

Hello Everyone.

This week I decided to take a break from blogging. My plate has been full, and I really just didn't feel like posting this week. I would ask you all who read this to again pray for me this weekend as we are going back to Florida to preach for Johnstown Baptist Church, after the evening service we are going to have a question and answer time. Please pray that the Lord would give us total peace before we make this move. I believe it is very promising that we will be going to this church, however it is in the Lord's hands. The plan right now is for them to vote on my next week at the church. I have to get 75 percent of the vote however I am praying that if this is the right church that I will get 100 percent of the vote. Lord Willing when I get back Monday I will be posting again. Until then may you all be blessed by our God.

Keep God First

Keep God First
First before I start this post I would ask you all to please pray for me this weekend. This Sunday I will be candidating at a church to be a Pastor. We are driving down to Florida Friday Night and will preach both services Sunday, and they have already asked me to come back the following week. Pray that I would have his power and that God would give us wisdom and the church wisdom concerning if I should be there Pastor. I appreciate your prayers in this matter.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God
The Lord tells us we need to seek him first. Another passage tells us that that he want the preeminence. He wants first place in our lives. We need to understand this is the most important thing we can do in our lives. So many young people, and older people have failed in this area of their lives. For those that are young God wants first place over any relationship. I have seen since I have been a youth leader that young people tend to try to find a girlfriend or boyfriend instead of concentrating on the Lord. If young people would learn to put the Lord first, and obey the Lord if it is his will he will bring the special someone to them. I was young once I wished I would of heeded the advice I am trying to give. Many broken hearts later I promised you waiting for the Lord to do his work is a much easier way to go. So the first thing is Relationship's.
The Second thing is Recreation.
I love to play sports, and love watching sports but that can not be in first place. I have seen people I respect see it more important to have their kids in sports than to be in the house of God. This is so sad. I have also seen kids that did this end up on their back because of some injury. God want first place and He will not share it with anyone. If he is not in first place he will get his way.
Why keep him in first place?
Because he Commands it.
It is not a suggestion that he be first, he commands us to have no other god's before him. What God have you put before him today?

Friends
Work
The Consequences of him not being in first place.
No Fellowship- The most important thing we can do as a Christian is keep right fellowship with him. We need to have his presence in our life.
A little scattered but please look at your life and see if he has first place if not asked him to forgive you and put him back on the throne of your life. May God bless you till next time.

Go Forward

Exodus 14:15
and the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward.

The Lord gave me a thought on this passage of Scripture a couple of weeks ago that we may preach but he put it on my heart this morning to share with you all. We all know the story of where God chose Moses to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. We have the ten plagues and finally Pharoah lets them go. After Pharoah lets them go he has a change of mind and goes after the children of Israel. The children Israel come the Red Sea and are now complaining to Moses that it were better for them to be in Egypt and instead of coming out here to die. This is how it is in our life sometimes. God took us out of the bondage of this world and now we are on a path but sometimes we get the Red Sea experience and Satan whispers it would better for you if would of just stayed in bondage. Life was easier when you just didn't care about what happen. The Lord told Moses to Go Forward, and he is telling us today to Go Forward. We may have the opposition breathing down our necks ready to destroy us, and we may have Obstacles before us that we just don't think we can get over, but when then happens we get to see the Power of God working in our lives. So we need to go Forward inspite of a couple of things.

I. Go Forward inspite of Discouragement.
We all have times of discouragement in our lives. We look through the Bible and people had times of discouragement. Family or friends or our finances may discourage us but we must Go Forward. Someone close to us may have let us down and we must go Forward. David encouraged himself in the Lord, and sometimes the only way we are going to make is learning to spend time and hearing the Saviors voice.

II. In times of Defeat Go Forward.
In my life I am my own worse enemy. I don't know about you but I so get tired of failing the Lord it seems on a regular basis. I know in Christ we have the Victory over all sin in our life, but it is a matter of dying to self and surrendering all and until I believe as the body of Christ we learn this we will fail more than we have too. The devil again is good at whispering oh you failed the Lord so maybe your not even saved, or you failed the Lord he can't use you anymore. Maybe you don't face those challenges in your life but I know I do but again the Lord tells us to go forward.

Inspite of the Devil go Forward.
Why?
He is a liar.
His Time is short.
The Lord has already won the victory over the devil.

When God told Moses to tell the Children to go forward inspite of what is going on in your life God expects and is telling us to go forward. GO FORWARD CHILD OF GOD.

Yet Not I

Galatians 2:20

We all know this powerful verse in Scripture. This last week the Lord allowed me to teach a little on this verse on I hope it helped us in Sunday School at our church. When the Lord saved us he bought us with a price. The Bible tells us that we are no longer our own. The greatest robbery in the church is not tithes and offerings. The greatest robbery in the church is us taking our life back when God bought us. We are to conform into the image of Christ. The Lord brings trials in our life to get us to the point of looking like his Son. The greatest thing we can do as a Christian is to die to self every single day. This is something we must do. If we do not die to self then we are not surrendered to the Lord. If we are not surrendered to the Lord then we are not right with God. I know that is a great big punch to our pride but it is the truth. I have been going over a series in Sunday School on what is wrong with the church. One of the problems is we are still in control of things. This verse says yet not I in it. We are living in this life but we are not suppose to be living Christ is too be living through us. I know again a great big punch to our pride. When it comes to decisions in our life am I living or am I letting Christ live through me to make that decision. When a person is dead they are dead. They have no more attitude( One of the ways I know most the church is not dead is by attitudes} They don't control their actions, the Lord does. Maybe one of the reasons the body of Christ goes through what they go through is because the Lord does not have come complete control. When we are dealing with family I am living yet not I. When we are dealing with finances we are living, yet not I. When we are dealing with future decisions we are living yet not I. Please get what the Lord is trying to say today. You may be breathing, and living but it is suppose to be me living through you. I know in my own life the Lord has shown me that I am not dead on the way. When dealing with anything in our life may we remember this verse and say yet not I. May God bless you till next time.

Committed to Christ

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me.

I taught a lesson a few weeks ago in Sunday School on commitment. People just are not committed to anything. This is one of the greatest problems with the church today. You have a handful of people that do all the work while many just sit back and watch, but if something goes wrong they are the first ones to open their mouths and criticize the preacher, the church, or another Christian. It starts with the basics to be committed nothing new this morning but hopefully something we will check in our lives this morning.

People are not committed to the Word of God.
Most people in our churches don't even pick up the Bible to read it during the week. The Lord tells us in II Timothy 2:15 to Study the Word of God, in the Psalms he tells us to Meditate on the Word of God. A person that is not in the Bible is not committed to Christ. The Bible is God's letter to us on how to live our lives.

People are not committed to the Work of God.
As I said it seems like a handful of people do all the work. Now don't get me wrong I love working for the Lord, the sad thing is people that do not work for the Lord don't understand the blessing that they are missing. There is such joy in our hearts when we know we are doing something to help the Lord's work. I have never understood how people can continue to sit and do nothing in church when I know what the Lord done for me when he saved me. He gave me a desire to work for him. I believe it would be amazing to see what God would do with a church that 100 percent of the Christians began doing something for the Lord. I believe that church would have much fruit.

People are not committed the Will of God.
Most people never find out what God perfect will for their life. I preached this last weekend at the Preacher's daughters graduation on the Will of God. Let me give you the points the Lord put on my heart.
I. Find the Will of God.
II. Follow the Will of God.
III. Finish in the Will of God.

I want to more committed to Christ in my life than I was yesterday.

The Light is Growing Dim

I preached this yesterday at a Preachers meeting. I pray you allow the Lord to speak to your heart. We are living in a day where light in most churches is growing dim.
I Samuel 3:1-5
Before we get started with the message we must realize that according to Exodus the lamp in the tabernacle was to burn continually. The lamp went out in the tabernacle. I am afraid to say again that I know churches that the light has went out and I know churches where it is growing dimmer and dimmer by the day.
When the Light Grows Dim.
The Presence of God is missing.
In Hearts
In Homes
In House of God.
We must yearn for his presence there have been times in my life that his presence wasn't around and oh how miserable I was.
The Power of God is missing.
We must have the power of God in our lives so it can be brought forth in the House of God. We still serve a powerful God who is all powerful but we limit him when we have sin in our lives.
The Peace of God is missing.

How many people come in our churches and it looks like they lost their best friend. Many have made peace with God but many our missing the peace of God in their lives.

Why the Light is Growing Dim

Because of Spirtual Abandonment

Abandon the study of the Word

Abandon supplication

Abandon being Spirit Filled

Because of Spirtual Apathy

Apathetic toward the Worship of God.

Apathetic toward the Will of God

Because of Spirtual Adultery.

If Christ is not first in our lives then we have another lover. How dare us put anything, or anyone above Christ after what he has done for us.

Because of Adversaries

Of Course Satan is our biggest advesary, but I was thinking of the move today going on, going away from the truth. I am glad that the Lord has shown me the truth and by the grace of God I will stick to it.

What to do about the Light growing Dim

Preacher need to keep Preaching the Word. II Timothy 4:2

Praying- We must continue to pray for God to touch our churches with Revival.

Praising- We just need to keep praising him for all he has done, and realize he is still in control

I Pray that those that read this will pray that the Lord continue to allow the light to burn brighter in our churches till next time

One of the Greatest Faults of Our Young People

Ephesians 6:1-3
Children obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and thy mother(which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
Being a youth pastor for several years this is one of the greatest downfall our young people have in our churches. They are Bible Students, Prayer Warrior, and even Soul-winners but if they miss these verses they have missed it. One of the things that bothers me is how are young people treat their parents. I have seen several young people who seem on fire for the Lord yet they treated their parents like dirt. We are told in this passage that it is right to obey your parents in the Lord. You parents do make mistakes but unless they are leading you into sin you are to obey them. Lets look at a couple of things and I beg you if you have trouble in these area's please get them right so God can use you to your fullest potential. I will say this at the end again, but YOU CAN NOT BE RIGHT WITH GOD if your relationship with parents is wrong.
I. Disrespect your parents.
I see this all the time, children, teenagers or young adults that show no respect to their parents. How do they do this. One is by backtalking their parents. Young person is never right for you to backtalk your parents this shows disrepect. Another way is by yelling at your parents this is also not right, just to throw something is is never right to yell at anyone. This shows are lack of self control. I know that the Lord helps me in this area in my own life. It is never right to get the last word as a young person either. I am tired of seeing young people showing no respect to their parents. I don't care how old we get we are not to show disrespect toward are parents we are always to honor them according to the scripture no matter if we are in the home or not in the home.
II. Disobey their parents. Oh how many times have I seen this as a youth leader in the last 8 years. Delayed obedience is disobedience. How do are young people show their disobedience let me give a couple of ways and then close.
Is by their Actions. They have been taught right from the Bible and then go against what their parents teach them. By changing their standards of living once they get away from Mom and Dad. Yes this is obedience mostly to God, but is disobedience to parents.
Is by their Attitudes. One of the things I have seen is young people do what they were told either after they showed their attitude, or while doing it showing an attitude. Most young do what their parents want but their heart has an attitude.
To Close the reason I share this with you young people or for those that may be adults that read this is because one I love you, secondly is I want to see you do great and mighty things in this generation until Jesus comes. Please examine you heart toward you parents, and remember you can not be right with God if you are not right with your parents.

Is He Real to You?

remember when I heard Bro Tony Hutson preach that he said when his Dad was dying that he pulled to the bed and said Son it is real. Christians that claim to be saved will stay home and not go to church. Some because they are just too lazy and some because they have been hurt. The sad thing is their is a lost and dying world out there watching our every step and they see when a Christian don't go to church how real the Lord is to them. I really don't want to take it from that point of view. I want asked you a question How real is he to you this day? Other people worship their Jesus, or their God and they are very sure that what they have is real but it is not. We worship the true God and many Christians live their life like he is not real.
When you wake up how real is he? I am guilty in what I am about to say but is the Lord the first person we talk to in morning thanking him for another beautiful day, and thanking for another day to live on his earth to be a blessing to someone. If he is real to us like he should be he will be the first one we talk to in the morning.
When you go to church is He real?
Is his presence flowing out of you that you are anticipating what the Lord can do. He wants to show himself so real in our services but we hinder him. We hinder by not obeying the voice of the Lord. That means if we have sin in our lives we will not obey his voice, but how about when he wants us to testify of his grace do we obey or when he tells us to sing whether with music or without do we obey him. The only way God can do want he wants in the church is when the members have been obedient to all the Lord has said.
When we are in the valley his he real?
I know when he drops blessing in our life he is real, but what about when we go through the hard times is he still real. Many people have turned their back on the Lord because they went through a hard time. It may have been a lost of a love one, or it many have been a financial lost, or someone may have done us totally wrong. Remember every thing that happens in our life the Lord allows. Sometimes it is to get us back in line and sometimes it is to help us just grow a little closer to our Lord. There have been many valleys that I thought I am not going to make it the Lord is no where to be found and then suddenly he shows up and makes himself real in my life.
In closing so many other areas of our lives we can talk about but the one thing I know is I want people to see God real in me. There have been times people have but I hope from now until Jesus comes back people by the grace of God can look at my life and say God is real to him and in him. May that be all our prayers. Slow To Speak

James 1:19 Wherefore, My Beloved Brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.

The Bible has a lot to say about are tongue. It has a lot to say about are speech. We are to be careful in what we say. Our brother James took the whole third Chapter to talk about this. Some things about this tongue.
It is powerful.We can build people up or we can cut them down. We have that ability with our tongue. How many times have we said something that we regreted? You may be more spiritual but I have many times. It says no man can tame the tongue. Sometimes we are sarcastic or blunt and we don't think about what we say. Remember slow to speak.
It is poison Sometimes things we say tear people's character up. What I mean is usually when use are tongue wrong someone else is sharp to speak back which leads into arguments and sometimes it brings worldly people to fighting.
How do we control the tongue?
Realize we Can't.We can not control the tongue. So many times we say I can control what comes out but we can not. We must realize that no man can tame it. All the animals in the world are tame.

Respond Cautiously.Remember slow to speak. When someone berates us or lies about us or gets on our nerves we MUST be careful in how we react. Jesus is our example. He was slow to speak always.

Rely on the Comforter
God gave us the Holy Spirit. He is the only one that can control our tongue. We must yield to the Spirit if not then we will get in the flesh and what comes out most of the time is not good.The Lord just reminded of this today. I believe we can have a godly speech at all times. Maybe I am just carnal in this area. I am not talking cursing I am talking about being mean with are speech, joking about people, cutting people being sarcastic. If no one get help I did. I hope this is a challenging post. Lets do a better job at being slow to speak.

A Servant of Christ

Phil 1:1Paul and Timothy the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi with the bishops and deacons.I will again be short tonight. I was just sitting here and thinking about what Paul started some of his letters out with. He said he was a servant of Jesus Christ. Paul probably the greatest Christian in the Bible said this. I was thinking are we really servants of Christ. I was just thinking for a person to be a servant they must have a greater love for the Master than anything else in this world. Do we love Jesus more than any other. The bible says we either serve God, or mammon. Just a couple of thoughts on being a servant.I. We must be Humble.If there is one thing that I believe the Lord wants us to do in our lives that is is humble ourselves. To Many people are prideful. The only way God can use us is when we are humble. When we enter the throne room of Grace we must come humbly before the throne. Are you humble?II. We must be Honoring.We must bring honor and glory to our Savior in our daily lives. The bible tells us Whether therfore we eat or drink or whatsoever we do. do all to the Glory of God.I. We must honor him in our habits.II. We must honor him in our homesIII. We must honor him in our hearts.III. We must be HelpfulWherever you see Jesus he is trying to help people. There are many people crying out for help tonight. A servant helps others.Souls Cry out for Help.People are dying every second and meeting God in the judgment.Sliders Cry Out for Help.The backslider most of the time is crying out for Help. They may like living in the sin for a season but I believe they are always looking for away back to God.Saints Cry Out for Help.We need one another in the Body of Christ. We all need people that will rejoice with us, cry with us, and just be there for us. I believe this is being a servant.Are we a servant tonight. After you read this really think about it. God is Keeping Track

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints and do minister.

As I begin this blog this evening this verse is so helpful in my life. I had the opportunity to go to a old church I served in last night. I served in this church for 3 years. I had a lot of high times, and some very low times. God called me away from the ministry mainly because I believe I needed to go to a little church in Rex, Ga to be a help to a Pastor that needed it. I served my purpose at this church and I am so glad that God did not forget my ministering at this church. I got to see a young lady who the Lord allowed me to get their family in church to sing in the chior last night and she did a tremendous job. I got to see several young adults that were in my youth group still serving the Lord. Sometimes as a preacher of the gospel you never know how much influence you have had a group of people until the Lord moves you, nor do they know what kind of influence you were to their life. Even better than that seeing this on this earth is that God in heaven is still keeping track and there are many rewards I believe the Lord has a result of just being faithful to him. It is a blessing to go back and see God still working in these peoples lives. It just makes you feel like maybe your time in the ministry is not a waste of time. Now I am serving in the church as a associate pastor, I teach the Sunday School for the adults, I get to spend time with the young people at the church, and fill in from time to time preaching the Word of God. Sometimes as a preacher people just don't care for what you are preaching or how you preach and this is discouraging at times, however God is keeping track and as long as one is faithful to the Lord in what they are doing he will reward them. It is a blessing when you have people come to you and say that helped me, but I believe even greater than that there will be a time we get to heaven that people will come to us say you may not know it, but you were an influence on my life. That will be a great joy. Pastors, and Preachers, Sunday School teachers sometime pour their heart out to a group of people and it seems like it does no good, however if we stay faithful ,God is keeping track. I just wanted to share this tonight a little different than really giving you a thought or preaching to you, but more from my heart I am so glad that God is keeping record. The Church that Makes God Sick

As was planning on teaching this last Sunday But God had a change of plans. We find our passage in Rev 3:14-21. Today we live in a society where many Christians live a defeated life. We are told in scripture that we have victory in Jesus. I find myself at times even living a life that at times seems even void of God. Of course when people get this state normally they have slack off in their quiet time with the Lord. I want to give a couple of points this afternoon on a church that makes God sick. I will not develop them as much as ususal since I may preach on this Sunday.

A Comfortable Church.
In our passage it says that God wants us to either be hot or cold, but the majority of the church is lukewarm. They are comfortable. They come in to church with none of the following.
They come with no expectation. They are there out of obligation instead of wanting to see God move in a mighty way.
They come with no excitement. I know you can not build a church on excitement but it sure does help when there is excitement. I wonder if we can remember a time in our life where we were excited to go to the house of God. We couldn't wait to see what God was going to do. Oh how those days are few in number now.

A Carnal Church.
I still believe with all my heart God wants his people to live Holy lives. I know everyone of else can probably in our life find an area where we could live more holy. The church has become so worldly. As I said in the previous post they bring people in for excitement and there is no power of God. The reason there is no power of God is because the Holy Spirit is grieved by how many people live their lives. They watch the wrong stuff, listen to the wrong stuff, and go to the wrong places.

To close this short post today we need to examine the facts that God has laid out and see if we are making God sick to his stomach because of the way we are living. I don't know about you but I want to please my Heavenly Father everyday even when I have shortcomings I want to get those confessed so I have the presence of God. I have a couple more points but felt the Lord would stop us on these two today. God Bless till next time.

Oh How the Church Has Forgotten

Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.
Ps 106:21
They forgat God their Saviour which had done great things in Egypt.

I went to revival last night and I have heard this song that Bro Ricki Akinson and Bro Lance wrote called I have not forgotten. As I have been meditating on that thought the Lord gave me a few thoughts that may challenge us or encourage us this morning. Oh how we live in a nation that has forgotten God. We know the sin that is running rampant today in our nation and that God I believe is sick to his stomach. I believe one of the reasons why we have not been judge severly yet is because the church has tried to reach the world with the Gospel of Christ. We kicked God out of schools, most Christians have kicked God out of their homes but the filth they allow into their home, and sad to say that the church in general has kicked God out of the church. We live in the Ladociean age spoken of in Rev 3. The church where God is on the outside knocking to get in. We have replaced God with entertainment such as Christian Rock, Christian Rap, Contemporary Christian music, because their is no power of God in most churches. Churches have dropped their standards of Holy Living because they can't draw crowds because their is no power in church. How sad but you would have to admit most places don't see the power of God move like it should. Church has become a bore to most people they come sing the congregations, take the offering up ,have a couple of specials, a preacher gets up and preaches his heart out, while many in the church are thinking about bills, work, or where they are going to eat at. I still believe God has not changed, he still can do great and mighty works. What have Christians forgot.

They have forgot the Grace that Saved Them.
Many Christians forget where God brought them from, I know in my own life I have forgotten at times where my God has brought me from. Oh how sad. Let me remind us today that God brought is up form a horrible pit. Sin had a strangle hold on us and would not let go. We had no desire for the things of God, but God in his grace reached down his hand for us and set us on a Rock and established our goings what a blessing. It was his grace nothing that I did. He found me, convicted me, clean me up and changed me. What a wonderful Savior we have.

They forgotten the Goodness of God that Sustains Them.
God has been so good to this preacher this morning much more than I ever deserve. We allow circumstances whether with our health, our family, or our finances to forget how good God truly is. I don't know about you but sometimes the only thing that gets me through a hard times is I remember the Goodness of God and it sustains me.

They have forgotten the Growth that Stabalizes them.
I thank God that we don't have to be a Christian that is up one minute down the next. We don't have to be a Christian that is tossed to and fro. When we grow we are stable. We are stable in our walk, our worship, our witness, and our work for the Lord. When we stop growing we sometimes forget what God has done in our life and therefore we end up on that sea tossed to and fro.

To conclude I thank God this morning that I am not same as I used to be because of Calvary, however I am not content where I am at spirtually I want to reach a more devoted life to Christ. The only way this happens is we don't forget his grace that leads us everyday in our lives. May God bless you till next time.

The Good Shepherd

Before I give the post the Lord has on my heart. I just want to let every know that I am still blogging. I have been having some difficulties between me and the Lord concerning the ministry. As a preacher sometimes I go through a little season of discouragement why God hasn't given me a church to Pastor when I am 110 percent sure that is what he wants me to do. So when I go through those periods my study of the Word suffers and therefore no post because I don't want to put anything up on this blog that does not help me first. I am doing better now and with the Lord's help I am going to try my best to at least post twice a week if not more than twice.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Ps 23:1

This last Friday I had to preach a funeral of someone I didn't know at all even though I knew some of the family so I started meditating on this scripture and gave a couple of thoughts at the funeral to the people. As I meditated the Lord gave me some thoughts to share on him being our shepherd to the blog readers.

I am so glad that this shepherd wants to have a relationship with each one of us. I am glad on Aug 10 1993 that I entered into a relationship with the shepherd. Now before I got saved I had religion with the shepherd which I believe many professors have. This shepherd thank God sought out this lost sheep to come into the fold. I want to give a couple of thoughts about the shepherd that I pray will be a help and blessing to you.

The Shepherd Cares for Me.

I am so glad that when I get to the point where I think no one cares I am reminded a shepherd that does care for his sheep. I am so glad that he loves me tonight. I mean when I am in his will he loves me, and when I am out of his will hel loves me. This is truly unconditional love. He died for us on Calvary and then he came our way and showed us how much he cares for us. Sometimes I get to the point where I wonder if any person on this earth really cares, but even if they don't even though they do the shepherd cares for me.

The Shepherd Comforts Me.

As I preached this mans funeral this last Friday much of the family was lost. Many our letting alchol, drugs, immorality to fill that void, but I tried to plant a seed that Christ will comfort them if they let him. I am so glad that when I am sorrowful, or hurt that this kind shepherd comes and picks me up and comforts my heart. When my dad died I remember when I was in my prayer closet that it seem like the shepherd came and put his arms around me and showed me he would comfort me.

The Shepherd Corrects Me.

I am so glad that the shepherd will not allow me to get far away before he starts to correct me. The word is chastisment. The Bible says it shows that the shepherd loves us if we are chastized. If there is not chastizment when we are out of his will we need to make sure that we are not a bastard because that is what the Bible says in Hebrews12. Are you not glad the shepherd cares so much for you that he will not allow you to get out of the fold with out correction.

As we close this short thought I am so glad that this kind shepherd lives in my heart and wants to direct my ways. I believe it is whole lot better if he directs than if I do. A whole lot calmer in my life. Till next time God Bless.

Is Thy Heart Right With God?

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

This thought I have taught on a couple of times in Sunday School. I believe most saved people have the wrong idea of what being right with God is. I believe most think as long as they go to church, read their bible, pray, and soulwin then that they are right with. These things are neccessary for us to be right with God but they do not neccessary mean we are right with him. I remember in the Bible when Jesus said that they did serve with lips, but their heart was far from him. I believe the Lord gives us a blueprint that shows where we are spiritually. I pray this challenges but also encourages us to go farther with the Lord.

If our Heart is Right then are Speech will be Right.
One of the best ways to show that we are right with God is what proceeds out of the mouth. I am not just talking about people cursing, I am talking about how do we talk to people. Do we edify or do we cut. If we cut or use idle words we can not be right with the Lord. Our speech should be seasoned with Godliness. How do we talk to our spouse or if we are a young a person how do you talk to your parents. I believe one of the greatest way we quench the Holy Spirit is by what comes out of the mouth.

If our Heart is Right then are Sight will be Right.
As a Christian this is one of the hardest area's people have to keep right. Because what ever comes through the eyes becomes part of our mind. We have to be careful with T.V. but most of all even though this internet is a tool trouble will come looking for you. All it takes is one moment of weakness with the flesh and we could ruin our testimony. Remember the song be careful little eyes what you see, why because God is watching.

If our Heart is Right then are Steps will be Right.
If you our controlling your steps you can not be right with God. The only way we can truly be right with him, is when we relinquish all are rights and allow him to direct everything. The places I go, the decisions that are made should all be with the Lord having control. Truly the only way that we can really be right with God is when he has absolute control.

Now that the Lord has given these how do we measure up. If you are like me I have to examine each of these area's and the only conclusion I can come to is Thank God for his mercy and longsuffering because I need to help in these area's. The heart desire should be relinquished my rights and let him live his life through me. Again the only way this is going to effect us is if we right to go above the normal Christian Life. How is Our Prayer Life?

Ye ask, and recieve not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your own lusts.

Before I start this post of what the Lord has put on my heart through meditation, and through listening to a message I want to first say none of us have arrived in our prayer life. We all can pray more, and spend more time with God. Now with that being said one of the greatest privileges that we have as a child of God is prayer. When we got saved we got access to the God through the mediation of Christ. We realize the only thing that changes things is prayer. I believe it would amaze us how much time Christians truly spend in prayer. The devil knows that God works through prayer so he tries to keep us busy so we won't pray. I don't know about you but I want to have my prayers answered, but I go through times that it seems like my prayers go from the ground to the ceiling and that God does not hear me. I know you feel the same way at times. Lets get a few thoughts what we do to get our prayers answered or have a more fruitful prayer life.

Our Manner of praying. How do we go to God in prayer? Do we go to him high and lifted up, or always asking instead of spending time with him? The correct way of coming to God is humbling ourselves. If we are not willing to humble ourselves God will not listen.
We pray with a right heart. Ps 66:18
We pray his will not our will.
We pray believing.
That is the manner of our prayer.

The Majesty of our Prayer.
We realize we are praying to the creator of the universe. We are not just talking to anyone even though we can go to him as a father son or daughter relationship. God knows our needs before we give them. He wants to hear from us and wants us to praise him and give thanks for what he has done in our lifes.

The Motivation of Prayer. What is our motivation of praying for God to fix our finances, heal our body, save our love ones etc.... If our motivation is anything but that it glorifies him he will not answer our prayers. If we asked selfishly then we are in the wrong and we need asked it for his glory. The Lord has been teaching me some things about doing all to his glory. If we teach, or preach, or study his word, or pray, or witness, or attend church for any other reason except for it to glorify him then are motivation is wrong.

In Closing maybe the reason or prayer life is suffering is because we have been praying wrong. If our motivation is wrong then it will seem like all we are doing is talking, but if we get our motivation right it will be amazing to see what God will do with us. May we take these simple thoughts and meditate upon them. Until next time God Bless.

Mrs Kate at Maranatha. As I read her posts I am challenge to know the Lord more. Her posts our well thought out and directed by the Holy Ghost.
Bro Jerry. Bro Jerry is a blessing. His posts are well studied and thought out. He has a zeal and a knowledge for knowing the Lord.
Caleb and Joshua is my last one. They are a blessing to read and the stand they take for the Lord is awesome. The zeal these boys have for the Lord is evident in their posts. I pray that God would give us more young people to have the desire these boys have.

How to Have Victory in Your Christian Life
I normally don't put other peoples stuff up on my blogs but I was looking through some things and the Lord impressed on my heart to put this outline up that I got several years ago at a youth conference. I believe with all my heart we have victory in Christ over sin, self and Satan it is just if we obey the Scriptures to activate this Victory. Last time I checked we got all the Holy Spirit we are ever going to get, it is a matter of the Holy Spirit getting more of us. I hope this is a blessing and a help to those that struggle in this Christian Life to stay right with God. I know it helps me because I have the same struggles as any other person. Vigilance I Peter 5:8, Rom 13:14 Be consistently on gurad against your weaknesses and the wicked one.
Imagine the Consequences Eccl. 8:11-13 List and be familiar with the results of the sin from which you want to be freed.
Cry Out to God Ps 34:6 Cry Out to God you are tempted, when you fail and throughout the day.
Take Thoughts into Captivity. II Cor 10:3-5 Thoughts become desires, which turn into actions, which produce habits, that become your life. You must deal with the temptation in the first four seconds.
Omnipresence of God Before Us. Gen 39:7-9 God seeks, knows and is grieved with us when we sin.
Rely on Sciptures Ps 119:11, I Cor 10:13 Our sword that is used to fight temptation is the Word of God
Yield to the Spirit Rom 8:13 Whatever the Holy Spirit tells you to do, you must obey in order to receive his power.

Beware of the Enemy

I Peter 5:8

When we were born again we entered into a battle till the end. I want to thank God this evening that I am not part of the devil's family anymore. I thank God that I will never be seperated from my Lord and Savior. Praise God for that. With that being said I do know that we face a true enemy and he is not of this world. It is not a family, friend, or foe that is our enemy. The devil seeks according to John 10:10 to steal, kill and destroy. I want to asked a serious question tonight are you devourable? He is looking to devour God's children tonight. There have been many that have been devour before us who thought they were strong enough to defeat the devil. There are several characteristics of the devourable I hope we do not fall in any of these but if we do thank God that we can repent and get it right before it is too late.

I. Full of Pride

YOu and I know many people that name the name of Christ who are full of pride. They think that they are God's gift to this world. There are preachers like this, and church members like this. The Bible clearly states in Prov 6 that a proud look God hates. One of the greatest lessons I learned that was hard was that God don't need me. He has been on the throne well before I came in existence and he will be on the throne well after I leave this world. I know in my heart that I really am nothing and all that I am is because of the Jesus. Praise God for the day I learned that.

II. Flesh Driven.

Another devourable charateristic is those that are driven by the flesh. I know we all have flesh still that has to be crucified but I am talking about those that do nothing as a child of God but maybe go to church. When one is controlled by the flesh then he is devourable. God wants control through the Holy Spirit of our lives. If we allow the flesh to lead and direct our paths we need to be watching because the devil is coming.

III. Unforgiving Spirit

Christ told us to be kind and forgive one another in Eph 4:32 why because he forgave us. I am a testimony to almost being devoured because I let unforgiveness turn into bitterness and the devil almost had me. We are to forgive everyone no matter what they have done because it is the RIGHT thing to do. A Christian that as an unforgiving spirit in them better watch out because the devil is coming.

To close how to we protect against the enemy I believe we find our answer in Eph 6 and that is the armour of God. If we daily put on the armour the devil is no match to God, but if we leave the armour off then we are succeptible to being devoured. Please take the thoughts and if it didn't touch you then pray for those that you may know that may be close to being devoured.

I am not Ashamed

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Rom 1:16a

I am so thankful for the gospel of Christ. If it were not for the gospel I would be lost in my sins still and so would you. I am thankful that Jesus came to this earth born of a virgin, died on the cross and rose again for me. That is enough to shout about from here to eternity. As introduction.

A. I am not ashamed of the Power of the Gospel. It is the gospel that saves sinners. It is the Gospel that changes lifes. It is the Gospel that makes the difference.

B. I am not ashamed of the Person of the Gospel. The person is Jesus. I am not ashamed to broadcast his name to a lost and dying world.
C. I am not ashamed of the Preaching of the Gospel. I love good Gospel preaching. The Bible tells us to stay close to the cross. Without the cross you have not Christianity.

Now I want to look at several areas that when we stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ that I do not want to stand ashamed in.

I. I do Not want to be Ashamed in my Walk.
I want to stand before my Lord knowing that I Walk for him. There are many saved people out there that walk for what they want. They walk for selfish reasons. They are about pleasing themselves, and don't care about pleasing the Master. When we stand before Christ we will not be judged for our Walk as in Sin, but we will stand before him knowing that we could have walked better.

II. I do Not want to be Ashamed in my Work. I want to be found working for my Lord till he comes back. I do not want to be on the sideline. If I live to be old and grey I still want to be preaching the Word of God when he comes. I want to be still singing the old songs of zion. I want to still working in a Independent Baptist Church that hates sin. I don't ever want to compromise my Lord in my Work.

III. I do Not want to Ashamed in my Witness.

I am learning something in my life once again. All that is going to matter when I get to heaven is who I brought with me, or how did I help reaching the lost of this world. It is not about a better house, or a better car, it is about Jesus saving sinners. In my own life I realized that I really got apathetic in this area of reaching lost sinners. The Lord has given me a passion once again for reaching souls.

IV. I do not want to be Ashamed in my Worship and Praise

I believe worship is private. The word means to bow low to the Lord. I want to worship my Lord but I realize when sin is in my life I can not worship him like I want to. Praise is public I want to publically praise my Lord if that is in testifying, raising hands, or by shouting I do not want to be out praised by the rocks. We have much to praise and worship in for. Just thing about and I believe before you know it you will be praising him.

In closing I know in several of these area I have been ashamed at one time or another but this is a new day. Old days are passed we can start today not being ashamed.

How Does a Life Become Shipwrecked?

How Does a Life Become Shipwrecked

I Timothy 1:19
Please get your bible and read these verses. We all know people that have shipwrecked their lives. As a Christian if we are not obedient to the Holy Ghost we will definitely find ourselves shipwrecking our lives. We must understand that if we live outside of the Will of God we step out of the hedge that God has around us. I want give 4 reasons why I believe peoples lives become shipwrecked and then give three reason how to avoid shipwrecking our lives. I pray you will meditate upon the thought.
I Because of Hidden Sin. The Bibles says that in numbers be sure your sin will find you out and in Gal 6:7 God is not mocked. We can not sin and and not pay the consequences of sin in our lives. God will bring our sin in the open. We may be able to hide it from spouses, or friends, or pastors, but God always knows our sin.
II. Because of Haughtiness. We also must never ever thing of ourselves more highly than we are. The Bible warns of this in Prv 16:18. We are capable of doing the most wicked thing in the world if we are not under subjection to the Holy GHost.
III. Because of Hypocrisy.
We live one way at church or around family and then we live like the devil away from them. Mark it down you will shipwreck your life.
IV. Because of Half-Heartedness
God wants all our lives and us to give our best in all that we do. We can not live in the world part of the time and surrendered to God part of the time. We can not give 50 percent doing the things of God. Jesus wants us to give all that we have at all times. When one is half-hearted enventually they will burnout.
How to Avoid Shipwrecking our lives.
A. Stay Humble before God. I Peter 5:6
B. Confess Our Sin Daily. I John 1:9
C. Fellowship with God Daily. Joshua 1:8

How to Turn the World Upside Down?

I am going to do a series of posts on this thought the first one is Biblical Salvation. You may be saved, but please do come back and read the other thoughts I believe the Lord has something for us.

Acts 17:6
These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also.
This is a thought that the Lord gave me about 5 years ago. I taught to my young people at another church.
There are many that claim to know Christ. If all those that say they are saved would live for Christ, it would be amazing what the Christian could do. These Christians in this passage were know for turning the world upside down. Paul, Silas, and others made a difference. I wonder today our we making a difference. I want to give a couple of things that we must have to turn our world upside down. There are many we can reach with the Gospel. Please ponder upon these and I hope they are blessing.
I. A Biblical Salvation
There are many walking around this world with just a profession and not a possession. Before we can every do anything for CHrist we must be saved. It is more than a prayer, it is a decision from turning your sin, to a Holy God. That is repentance. If you have never repented then you know not God. That is not my WOrd that is what Jesus said. We have too many people out there just praying a prayer and nothing changes about them SOmething is wrong with that. I believe with the Lord's help I am going to make this a series of thoughts on turning the world upside down. The Lord just spoke to my heart. Do you know you are saved? I am not asking if you made a profession of faith, I am not asking if you shook the preachers hand, I am not asking if you were baptized I am asking do you know the Lord. Hell is full of good people that made professions of faith but they never possessed it. The Bible tells us to Examine ourselves whether we be in the faith. Has your life changed? Can you look and see what the Lord has changed about you. Do you have a love for the brethren, a love for Word, A love to pray, a love to go to Church. If not I asked you to check up. I know most that read my posts are saved just want to throw this out there just case someone is not. To close this thought where will you be when you take your last breath, or when the rapture happens. Will you be in Hell, or left on the earth. All I know is that the choice is up to you. God says whosoever wants a drink can take a drink of living water. For those that know him Praise the Lord that you are saved, and never ever lose the thrill of being saved. Once we lose the thrill we will not turn the world upside down.

The Influence of Your Life

James:4 asks the question what is your life.

This afternoon while eating lunch me and a friend of my got talking about life. We got talking about Anna Nicole Smith and how she at this time wishes she would lived her life different. Then we talked about the rich man how he prayed that someone would get to his five brothers before they end up in Hell. The thought today is what kind of influence have you had in this life. So many people want to live materialistic, but when this life is over the cars will be gone, the house will be gone, all the materialism we have accumulated will be gone, and all that will matter is what kind of influence you had on people. If we were to prematurely die, or if lived to old age and then died would people walked my our casket saying we were an influence on their life. Will the kids walk by the casket and say dad or mom lived for Jesus, they walked with him and gave all to him. If we are teenagers would our parents walk by and say he/she loved Jesus. How about people we worked with or went to church with. Will anyone remember you is the question? Will you have people walk by and say they led me to Christ, or I remember when I was going through a rough time and they took time out and loved on me and encouraged me in the Lord? When the lost stand before the Lord and have no excuse why they wouldn't trust Christ, do you believe they would love to have more chance. Finally how about when we stand before the Judgement Seat of Christ will we have anything that will make it through the fire, or have we lived life with self the center of attention. If we have lived life to self then we really have missed the meaning of this life. The meaning of this life is to influence people so they trust Jesus as their Savior. If people are saved then to influence them to stay in the battle for the Lord. Just some random thought from my heart. I hope we would ponder this thought what is your life. Psalm 92:10
But My Horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
The thought on my heart this morning has to do with something that is missing probably from most of our lives. I have to admit that it is missing from my life. The thought this morning has to do with being filled witht he spirit of God. As a Christian we make a conscience decision on how much we give to the Lord in our life. We make a decision whether we are going to be carnal, lukewarm, or spiritfilled. I know we all hear people say they are spiritfilled yet they yell at their kids, they get angry over things, or they fuss as couples. I am hear to let you know that is not being spirit-filled. The Lord hit me with a ton of bricks on Sunday morning as I was teaching this. If I am not dead I can not be spiritfilled. When we are spiritfilled we are not offended, we are not angry at people. We have the mind of Christ. Let me put a ouch there. You want to test our spiritfilled you are. You heard it right if we get angry with people or we get offended with people, or we talk about people we are not led by the spirit. I believe what is missing from our churches is people having fresh oil when they come to the house of God. The Bible says we should be overflowing with the spirit of God. Being filled with the spirit does not mean that your speak a tongue that no one knows, it does not mean you get a second blessing, it does not mean that you now have the gift of healing. The whole reason for having fresh oil is so others trust Christ as Savior. The world needs to see someone that don't talk, act, listen, or watch the same thing as they do. They need someone that they know is under the influence of someone else. I asked you this most seriously question are you filled with the spirit. If not when was the last time you asked God to forgive you for not being spiritfilled. You want something that will turn your church around get spiritfilled and see what God can do. The Missing Element in Christians
I John 1:4
And these things I write unto you; that YOUR joy may be full.
I have been saved for almost 14 years and the longer I have been saved the more I see Christians don't have any joy. I see people come into church and it looks like they lost their best friend. Something is missing in many peoples life. What i am about to share may be elementary but if we obey God and his word what a difference it will make in our lives. I want to be all I can be for the Lord. I hope all who read this feel the same way. I was teaching SUnday School sunday and the Lord hit me like a ton of bricks with something. The reason people have no joy is because they are lacking fellowship with the Lord. I John talks about fellowship. I know in my life when I lack fellowship I am not a very nice person to be around. Now to the meat of the thought WHy do we have no fellowship? Why do most Christians live without the fellowship of the Lord in their life. Why is it you and me sometimes don't yearn for that fellowship.
I Because of Sin. I have learned something that when I am practicing sin, or doing something I should not be I have no joy. God expects us to have are heart right with him. He wants me and you to be in fellowship but that is hindered when we sin against him.
Because of lack of studying. You know the way we find joy is in the Word of God. We must be in the Word of God. You would be amazed to find out who in your church probably don't even read their Bible. How can we have joy when we lack to most important thing in our life and that is a time of studying the Word.
Because of Self. When we want to do things ourselves God lets us but we are not happy if we do them. The reason many have no joy is because they still dictate their life. As long as we dictate our life their will be no joy.
To close do you have joy, if not please consider the thoughts that have been giving and asked the Lord to show you why there may be no joy. I believe we all go through times where our joy is lacking. Till next time God Bless You.

I was just sitting here thinking how I haven't updated my site in a couple of weeks. I have really been praying about somethings concerning the blog and just waiting for the Lord to answer. For all my readers I really appreciate those that leave comments. I know I have others that read that do not leave comments and that is fine. When I started this blog I wanted to be a blessing and a help to other people. What the Lord gives me to put on here is usually something he has helped me with and therefore I want to help others. Also I wanted this blog to bring glory to our Lord. I believe it has done both. I do hope the Lord allows me to continue to blog and to give thoughts that I hope our truly treasure from God's Word. I just wanted to take a couple of minutes to again thank all that come hope the blog has been a blessing to you. May God continue to bless you, I also enjoy all the blogs I read they are a help and sometimes give me insight from another point of view.

A TOUCH FROM THE MASTER Matt 20-29-34
The story here is of two blind men seeking to be healed by the Lord. Do u remember when u were and blind and the Lord touch you for the first time. We were heading our own direction, and doing our own thing when the sweet Holy Spirit came and showed us our need for the Savior we trusted him and the Lord touched us.
We were Excited to be Saved. We were walking on cloud nine. We were clean, and we wanted to know more about the Lord.
We were Expressed our Salvaton. We had the joy of the Lord all over our face. We had had a peace in our heart that we wanted to share.
What has happened to the excitement?
What has happened to the expression?
I believe just like we needed a touch from the Lord the day we were saved that sometimes we just need a touch from the Lord in the Battle of life.
Why?
I. Because of Doubting.
We have all doubted the Lord at one time or another. Matt tells us his disciples doubted him.
We doubt his working in our life.
The finanacial hardships.
The Physical hardships
The Mental hardships.
We must understand that doubt comes from the devil. He wants us to turn our back on the Lord.
II. Because of Drifting.
We all have had times where we were as close to the Lord as we needed to be. We drift away from the Lord and start doing things on our own.
Because of Carnality
Because of Complacency
Because of Coldness
III. Because of Discouragement
Some times family lets us down
Some times friends let us down
Thank God he never lets us down. As David did in the Word of God when it seem like everyone was against him he encouraged himself in the Lord
IV. Because of A Deeper Devotion.
We need his touch when we decide not to live a mediocre life. He wants the best for us and many Christians settle for second best in their life. Paul said in Colossians Christ my all in all. Is Christ your all tonight.
Is Our devotion where it needs to be?
Are our desires where they need to be?
I know in my life that I need to get alone and get a touch from the Master really on a daily basis. So many Christians struggle in this life because they don’t asked for that special touch from the Lord.

The Goodness of God

The Goodness of God
Psalm 107:1
O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good; his mercy endureth for ever.
I am so glad today to say God is been so good to me. He done wonders in my life. If we were honest we don't deserve the goodness of God. As many times as we fail him, and live our own lives God is still good to us. The bible admonishes us to give thanks to the Lord for he is good. When was the last time we just got on our knees and forgot about what was around us, or what we were going through and just praise him for his goodness to us. I want to give three categories of people to you that God is good too.
He is good to the Sinner. God blesses the sinner everyday with out they know it. he gives them breath everyday. He gives them food and shelter everyday. God has been good to the Sinner. How has he been good to the sinner.
I. He loves them. John 3:16, Romans 5:8
II. He is longsuffering.
III. He longs for their Salvation. II Peter 3:9
He is good to the Slider. That is backslider. God is always waiting for someone that is saved to always come back. Now don't get me wrong if you live outside his will their will be chastisement, but it is always correction never punishment. It is always to correct our wrongs to get us back in fellowship with him
He wants them to repent.
He wants to restore them.
Lastly he is good to the saint. He is good to the Child of God. He blesses us beyond measure when we are right with him. He always seems to have handfuls of purpose for his children. How has he also been good to us.
He gives us Hope. We have hope one day to be out of this flesh. The last verse of Sweet Hour of prayers says we will drop this robe of flesh. What a happy day that will be when we can think, talk and act right all the time. He gives us hope through the rapture. This world is in a mess and sooner or later God is going to send his son to get us.
He gives us Help. The Bible tells us we can come boldly before the throne of Grace and find help in time of need. He is always there to help his children that are walking right with him. I mean that we are in fellowship with him. We are reading, and praying and as far as we know we have no unconfessed sin in our life.
He will give us a home. One day we will have a home in heaven for ever and ever. We will never have to deal with sin, suffering, sorrow, or Satan ever again. What a glorious day that will be.
TO close God has been so good to us the least we can do is serve him with all our heart, soul, and mind.

Whose in First Place

First I hope all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I sure did. I am ready to start posting again to be a blessing to people. The first message of the new year is what I preached at a watch night service. I pray it is a blessing and a help.
We find our text in Col 1:18.
It says at the end of the verse that he might have the preeminence. That word means first place. I asked the this question to each of you. Is Christ in His rightful place in your life. If he is not in first place then my friend you are not right with God.
He deserves first place. He died on the cross of Calvary gave his life for me, my reasonable service is to put him first in my life.
He demands first place. Paul says that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Lets look at three areas he wants first place in.
In Our Love. Matt 22:37-40
Sumpreme Love
Sacrifical Love
Sincere Love. Is your love sincere? God knows our hearts. He knows why we serve him and what our motivation is.
In Our Labour. II Corinthians 5:9-10
Who are we labouring for?
Self. If we are labouring for self then we are in vanity. Everything in the scope of things means nothing.
Satan. We either serve God or we serve satan. If are not serving God then that means we are serving self and we are right where Satan wants us.
The Savior. It should be are hearts desire to serve him with 110 percent.
In Our Living. Gal 2:20
Carnal Living The Bible tells us in I John 2:15-16 Love not the world neither the things in the world.
Complacent Living A careless attitude. If I serve Jesus I will and if not or well. This is where many Christians get when they get their eyes off the Lord.
Consecrated Living. God wants us to be Holy. He wants complete surrender. The only way we ever get filled with the Holy Ghost is when there is nothing of me, and all of him. That is a hard saying but it is true.
To Close we must all examine our life and see where we have the Lord. If he is not in first place then lets put him where he belongs.

A Test of Our Spirituality
James 3:2-10
I was reading a blog I read often about the tongue. If there is one area of my Christian Life I find myself struggling in it is in this area of what comes out of my mouth. We know people that talk about how spiritual they are, and then they backbite or gossip about someone. That little pink member in our mouth causes many problems. We can go to church, read our Bible, pray and things like that but if we don't allow the Holy Spirit to control our tongue then we are CARNAL. The Bible says death and and life our in the power of the tongue. THe Bible says that we are to edify one another. The word edify means to build up. Are you building people up all the time or do you find yourself cutting people down, or gossiping or backbiting? What comes out of our mouth shows how spiritual we really are? Lets talk about the tongue for a minute or two and I pray that if you have learned to allow the Holy Spirit to control that tongue then please pray for those of us who still have a problem. We need to think before speaking in many cases. Now lets look at the tongue.
I. The Tongues Problem.
Now God gave us a tongue for several reasons. He gave us a tongue to produce saliva so food can go down. He gave us a tongue to taste foods. He gave us a tongue to build people up. He did not give us a tongue to curse. Now I know some Christians that are babes in Christ have a problem with this, but those that have been saved for years should not have problems cursing. People say well that is how I am, exactly you are a carnal or worldly Christian. He did not give us tongue to talk about people behind there back. That is gossip. Now how many of us have been guilty of that. Many times we gossip and it don't even bother us, or we don't realize we are doing it. How carnal? Remember the goal is to edify. I learned long ago if you don't have nothing nice to say about someone, don't say anything at all.
II. The Tongues Poison.
The tongue is poisonous. The Bible says animals have been tame, but no man can tame the tongue. It is is full of poison. If we do not learned to yield to the Holy Spirit in this area of our tongue then we will cause much hurt and damage to others. Remember the the goal is to be spiritual, or holy. We will never be what God wants us to be until we learned to give control of our speech up to God. Think for a minute when was the last time you spoke something that you didn't want to. Did it hurt the feelings of someone. If we have a tender heart God will convict us and he will make us to get things right with other people. He will either have us to get right with the person we are talking about or who we cut down, or he will have us get right with those people we told the gossip to.
I will leave it at two points today. We have enough to chew on with those two points. Remember we are to be conforming to the image of Jesus Christ God's Son. The Son of God never gossip, cut down, or hurt people verbally. I believe many who read this blog including the one writing this can definitely use Jesus as our Example and do better in this area.

The Reason for the Season

I don' t know how many more blogs I will do before Christmas if any. I am about to be very busy getting ready to go to Ohio. This season again they have been trying to take Christ out of the season. I am all for presents and the Christmas holiday, but Jesus is the reason for the season. As we come to end of another year I have a question What will you Do With Jesus this next year. I know most who read this are saved, but I am talking about our walk with him. I know I have failed the Lord much this year, but I also have seen victories in my life this year. I have three questions for you to ponder on going into this next year. These same questions I am asking myself also.
I. Will you Worship the Savior?
If there is one area that I am trying to do better in and that is worship. You say well I go to church that is great. I am talking about private worship. I am talking about adoring the Savior. The only way we worship is in spirit and in truth we have to be right with God. We should try to start everyday out right with God.

II. Will you Witness to the sinner?
I failed miserably in this area this last year. I talked to people about the Lord but I sure didn't give the plan of salvation out like I should have. If this next year we were to go home to heaven through the rapture how many people do you know need Jesus. Would you try to reach them with the gospel? Since we do not know when Jesus is coming back we should try to reach as many as we can. I read something the other day. There are over 200,000 people that die in this world a day. If ten percent were saved then 180,000 burn in Hell. We may not be able to reach the world at one time, but we can reach a neighbor, relative, or coworker with the gospel. That is all that is going to matter when we leave this earth. Money, and houses, and cars will burn up, but those we reach with the gospel bring a eternal reward. I thank God I have been able to lead people to Christ,but I could do more.
III. Will you Work in Service?
The last question is what can you do to help your church be a more sucessful church. Can you be more faithful? Can you teach? Can you Sing? God did not save us to sit on a pew, he expects to be doing something in the church. There are some things I let slip at the end of the year in my church that by God's grace we are going to do better starting next year. I want to do more with our young people. They are the future of the church. I need to sing more next year in our church whether solo or with my wife, or with a group. I mean I want to be obedient to my Savior and what he wants me to do in my church. Are you a help or a hiderance to your pastor?
To close three questions we need to answer. Prayefully consider what the Lord would have you to do. If I don't post anymore this year which I will try to and for those I won't see. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Till next time God Bless You.
