Goals in 2006

Phil 3:14a I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

I heard a quote before on if you aim at nothing you will hit nothing. I think of 2005 and at the beginning of the year the Lord gave me a message to preach at a watchnight service on things I wanted to do better in 05. I wanted to be a better student of the Word , and the Lord allowed me to learn more about him this last year. I wanted to be a better servant and I tried with the Lord's help to be a better servant. I wanted to be a better soulwinner and I realize I could have done better. Goals in our life our good. Many people set physical goals at the beginning of the year. Like some want to quit smoking, or some want to quick drinking or this is a big one some want to lose weight. These are all good goals but I wonder if you have set any goals for this new year coming up. Not just physical but spiritual.

One goal that the Lord has really burden my heart about is in the area of soulwinning. I want to be a better soulwinner this year. I failed so miserably last year in this area of my life. I want to be able to lead people to Christ. I want to give more tracks out this year, I want to knock on more doors this year, but most of all I want to present the gospel to more people this year. I believe the more we present the gospel the more chances we have of seeing someone saved. The greatest feeling besides being saved is God allowing you to lead someone to Christ.

A Second Goal is I want to have a better prayer life. I want to be a prayer warrior. I want people to count on me to go to his Throne this next year. TO be a prayer warrior I need to be clean. To be clean I need to be in His Word and obey his Word. I want to be closer to the Lord this year than I have any other year in my Christian Life. I want people to see a difference to the point to where they know and can see that i have been with Jesus in sweet fellowship.

A Third Goal is I want to Pastor this next year. I thank God for the training I have had under on my Pastors. I have learned from each Pastor in my life from my former pastors David Hyde, Jim Preast, Nesbitt Odom, and Terrell Hopkins to my current Pastor Ron Brown. I really believe I am ready to go out and make my mistakes as a Pastor. I believe I have the training I need. If you read this please pray for me that the Lord will opened that door up this year if it is his will.

There are so many goals that we can set in our lives. I pray that the next couple of day you will find some goals and right them down in your heart and press to reach those goals with the help of the Lord. If I don't write any more which I may I want to wish all a Happy New Year may God bless you this coming year. Till next time God BLess.

Close to My Heart

I was thinking this afternoon on what to put on my blog and I started thinking about people I love. I love my Pastor and his family and I love my church family and I love my physical family but I was thinking with a new year coming and getting ready to have a fresh start. There are good things I did last year and their are plenty of times I failed the Lord last year but I am not writing to have a pity party. I am glad that even though I have failed the Lord his grace and his mercy has come through everytime. I was thinking of what I want close to my heart in 2006. I pray that you will have something close to your heart next year.

I. Spouse.
I want to keep my wife close to my heart this next year. I love my wife and I would do anything for her. I want to provide for her emotionally physically, and emotionally. I thank God for my wife and I want her to stay close to my heart.

II. Scriptures
I want to keep the scriptures close to my heart. I want to read more of God's Holy Word next year. I love the Word of God. I want to keep it close to my heart so I don't sin as much as I did this last year. I want the scriptures to be more of a lamp unto my feet and light until my path this next year.

III. Secret Place
I want to have communion with my Lord more in 2006 than I had this last year. I want to know my Lord more intimately this next year. I want to be in the secret place for people more next year. I don't want to go one day without going to the secret place next year.

IV. Savior
I want to keep Jesus not only close to my heart but I want him to be on the throne of my heart. Like everyone else there were plenty of times last year that I control things in my life and made decisions without consulting my Lord. The Bible says we should love God with all our heart, all our soul, and all our mind. I don't believe we can do this all the time but I do believe with as much as in me I want to love him more this year than I did last year.

In conclusion just a couple of things I want to be close to my heart this next year. I pray even now that you will find somethings you want closer to your heart this year than last year. Till next time God Bless.

Merry Christmas

The Lord has been so good to us this year. Yes I know we have all had trials and tribulations that we just haven't understood but God has been faithful to seeing us through each trial. The year has flown by I can't believe that next Sunday is the start of a new year. Sometime next week I will be putting a post up on Godly Resolutions that we all may put in our life. I know this Christmas weekend is going to be busy. With all the wrapping of presents and then going to peoples houses, then eating all the food, and then opening all the gifts. ( Just in case someone comes by and reads this that normally don't let me interject something in here. Going to church inspite of all the churches taking the day off.) The closing of the church on Christmas day to me helps exactly what the liberals are trying to do. Take e Christ out of Christmas. The one day out seven years we can go to the house of God and worship him and adore him, and praise him, and tell him how good he is, and thank him for coming many that name the name of Christ will just stay home and opened gifts and spend it with family without even mentioning the Lord's birth. Shame on those Christians. I look forward to being in the house of God on that day. Now that my preaching is out of the way. I wish all those that may read this site a Merry Christmas. And on Christmas day may I give a challenge before you get out and opened the presents may each of us have a personal quiet time with the Lord that morning and thank him for what the day really means to us Christmas. There are many that have lost family this year that it will be the first year without that loved one. There are many that are fighting for are freedom that won't be home celebrating Christmas. There are many that will have no food on the table so much to be thankful for this Christmas. Again have a Merry Christmas until next time God bless.

Where is Christ?

Matt 2:2 Saying Where is he that is born King of the Jews?

I love this time of year where we celebrate Christ's birth. I love everything about Christmas. I love the beauty of Christmas, and I love to give during Christmas. THere is something that saddens me this morning and that is the attack on taking Christ out of Christmas. Society hates Christ today, and I believe the majority of our government hates Christ today. This time of the year people lose the meaning of the season so many times. The lost looks at Christmas just as a time of family getting together and giving gifts to one another. As I sit here this morning I was thinking in our lives where is Christ this morning. What a wonderful time of the year to either get saved if someone is not saved, or to get right with the Lord. I just have a couple of thoughts.

I. Is Christ the Love of your Heart.
THis can entail two things. The first question is are you saved? I know the majority of people that get on this site are saved but maybe a stranger comes by just to check it out and they may not be saved. To be saved and make him Lord in your heart. You must repent of your sins and trust Jesus by faith to be saved. Now what about the Christian this morning is he Lord of our heart or do we have someone else on the throne of our heart. Christ wants to be on the throne of our hearts this morning. He wants us to give him full control of lives but he gives us that choice this morning. This time of year many put family on the throne of their heart. It saddens me that I have family that will not go to church because family is going to be in town. The one day we can serve the Lord on the day we celebrate his birth and many churches and christian will be closed for business that day.

II. Is He Leader of Your Home.
Are we giving him control of our homes this morning or do we have control of the home. If people come to our home who would they find in control today. Would they find A Father who may make mistakes but gets on his knee's before he makes a decision for his family. Would they find a wife before she gets started taking care of the needs of the family in God's presence. Would they find children who honour their mother and father. I am asking if a lost person would follow during the day and see how you act in your home would it bring them to Christ or push them away from Christ. Either the Lord has control of your home or Satan has a foot in the door of your home.

In closing this week before we celebrate Christmas may we all examine ourselves and find out where we are with the Lord. I like many Christians can love him more than I do this morning. I can let him lead and direct me more this morning. I know I can pray more and I know I can read more and i know I can tell more people about Jesus. Where is Christ at in Your Life? Till next time God Bless.

The Hardships of Life

I haven't wrote for a few days but I feel that what I put on here tonight will help each that read it. The Word of God tells us that man is born of woman full of trouble. The Bible tells us to count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations. The Bible tells us that God won't let us go through anything that we can't bear. With all this being said what kind of hardships do we face in our lives. We face love ones passing on to be with the Lord. I was able to preach my fathers funeral 4 years ago Sunday. It was a hard thing but God helped me go through it. My father died because of sin in his life but the hardship was trying to help the family cope without a father. Sometimes we don't understand why God allows us to go through a love one dying prematurely but I think that alot of times the reason is for us to put our trust in the Lord knowing that he will help us through. When we got saved we were not promise a bed of roses. People have hardships with sicknesses that sometimes we just don't understand and this effects all in our families. I was thinking why do we go through hardships. I have a couple of reasons the Lord allows to go through things.
Hardships build Character
We go through things to build are character. Our character is what we are when no one is around. We as christians are to have character. When we go through things who do we go to. Everything that happens in our lives is for a purpose many times we don't understand this.
Hardships shows that God wants Control.
God wants control of our lives. He wants to be king in our lives. He wants to control through the Holy Ghost are every moment of the day. SOmetimes he lets hardships come in because He knows this is the only way he can get are attention many times.
Hardships conform us to the Image of Christ.
The reason we breathe today on this earth is to bring honor and glory to Christ. The Lord is the Potter and many times he has to put pressure to bring the vessel where he wants it. Everyday we live we should be looking more like Jesus. We should be talking more like Jesus would and we should be acting more like Jesus would. When we are comforming to the world that is when the Lord has to bring hardships in our lives to get back on track.
I know tonight I am kind of scattered brain but if I didn't get my point cross in what is written then maybe we would understand that we need to thank God for the hardships because that means that he is working on us. Till next time God Bless.

He Is Precious

I Peter 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe, he is precious

A short post today I have been thinking about how precious he is to me today. The Lord the last few days has really been speaking to my heart. There is a song that the preacher's wife sings called Jesus is precious. We come to this time of the year that many kick Jesus out of. The government is trying to kick God out completely. The stores we shop at are trying to kick God out but God will always be uplifted by a remenant of believers because he is precious to them. Last night the Lord dealt with my heart on testifying how precious he is but I disobeyed so I thought I would take few minutes to brag on my Jesus. He is precious in his Wonderful Salvation. He gives us the greatest gift and then we can't lose it that is precious. He came and died a sinners death willingly because I was precious to him that is a Great God. He is precious in the Study to me. I thank GOd that he has shown me over the years how precious he is when I study his Word. I have failed him so many times in studying like I should but when I opened that book with a clean heart he always shows himself precious. You think of the grace he gives us daily in this life, and you think about the mercy he bestows on us and you would have to say he is worthy to be precious in our lives. He is precious in the Secret Place. I thank God that when it seems like I am alone or that I get discouraged that I can go to one that will always be ready to listen. I thank God that I can show him how precious he is to me. We should be willingly to show others how precious he is to us today. He is all we need today if we would learn that what burden would be lifted from our hearts. I asked you How precious is he to you. Mrs Julie since I know you will read this thank you for obeying the Lord in singing that song last night I was going to call and asked you too but got real busy and really forgot but God didn't forget. Till next time God bless you.

We Need to Be Prayer Warriors

The bible commands to pray in more than a dozen passages of scripture. I was emailing and told someone that the greatest way they can be a servant to the church is by being a prayer warrior and of course the Holy Ghost showed me I needed to be a prayer warrior. Now don't get me wrong I know we probably all pray to the Lord but I asked do we pray until we touch heaven. I heard a message last night on The Power of Praying Church and God convicted me for my lack of praying. I won't go into details on the message because the Lord has given me the ok to either preach or teach the message. As I sit here this morning I asked the question what kind of praying person am I. I realize the church is as strong as its members. We have to have a church that is getting ahold of the Lord on a daily basis. We have all heard messages on the prayer changes things and you know what it does. Some say I just don't have a lot to pray about I have to say we can spend an hour in prayer and still not get everything prayed for. I know that the only way you have power with God is through prayer. I was convicted last night that I know people that have lost family members and I don't pray for them shame on me. I know people that have family out of God's will and I don't pray for them shame on me. I am just telling how the Lord convicted my heart last night. I was thinking when we pray we need to pray several ways. Just a quick outline.

We need to pray Consistently.
We must have a quiet time everyday to pray for the needs of people. We all have needs but we must be an intercessor for our loved ones, and church family. I pray but consistently I can do better in praying for people.
Consistently pray for the church.
Consistently pray for lost loved ones.
Consistently pray for family.
COnsistently pray for the Man of God.

We need to pray Believing.
We need to take God's promises and believe them. I lack faith in area's of my life that God has promised that I can have the victory in. I pray for a loved one's salvation yet many times I pray not believing. The reason we don't have more prayer requests answer is because we don't believe God like we should.

We need to pray Fervently.
We must pray until we get a hold of heaven. We must pray because peoples lives our at stake when we pray. When we pray fervently that is when I believe God really comes through in our prayers.

In closing remember God wants to answer our prayers for us more than we want them to be answered. My question to you as you read this is Are you A Prayer Warrior if not lets strive to be prayer warriors by the grace of God. Till next time God Bless You.

Pursuing God

Phillipians 3:10 Paul writes that I may know him. I thank God that I know him in Salvation today. I am so glad that I don't have to pay for my sins in the Lake of Fire. This is wonderful but I wonder this morning how many Christians are just using the Lord as a Fire Escape. I started reading a book this week that I bought two years ago The Pursuit of God. How many of us today are pursuing after the Lord. This should be the desire of every Christians heart. The man that wrote the book said that many are happy with living the mediocre Christian Life. That is going through the motions. That is just reading the bible, and praying and soulwinning and going to church but never letting God have full control of our lives. God already commanded us in Romans through Paul to present our lives a living sacrifice which is our reasonable service. When we go on this journey of knowing God it is not easy, but I believe that the things we go through are needful in this life. I believe there are three things missing from most Christians lives and the reason we are missing them is because we are not pursuing the Lord. I am guilty have to say in areas of my life.

I. Presence of God.
I wonder when was the last time we felt the presence of God real in our lives. I know he with us always but I am talking about when the Lord is so thick that you can't help to praise his holy name. I am talking about the presence that if you could you would touch God in the prayer closet with you. I am talking about the presence that is so refreshing that it gives you strength to go on. I believe in our young people they haven't seen this presence because many parents have not even been in His Presence.
II. Peace of God
When we get saved we make peace with God according to Rom 5:1. In this time that we live in there are so many Christians that have no peace in their lives. We have preachers, missionaries, evagelists that are men of God committing suicide because they can not find that peace. So many Christians me included wring our hands over the most insignificant things that come in our lives. There are many Christians that are worried over things that God has in control.
III. Power of God.
This is the thing that seperates the majority of Christians from those that are on fire. Most today do not live with the power of God on their lives. As I am reading this book the man that wrote you could tell had the power of God on their lives. This is my hearts desire and let me tell you that old flesh fights this in my life everyday and that is to have a touch of God not to brag but so people can see a difference in me and trust Jesus. That is the reason we are here to bring as many people with us to heaven as possible.
In Closing if you are like me these areas in my life can be stregthen. The only way we can strive to do better is to know are God. He wants us to know him in and itimate way to where He is All we Need. I pray this was help to all who read just a few thoughts from the heart this morning. May the Lord bless you Till next time.

Birthmarks of Salvation

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shalt be saved. Rom 10:13

There are so many people in our churches across America that struggle with the fact if they are saved. I believe most Christians at one time or another in their life struggle on whether they are saved are not. I have on a couple of occasions struggled with this very fact in my own life. We have so much repeat a prayer after me salvations that many believe if they say a little prayer they are going to heaven. I once said a prayer growing up almost every night before I went to bed but never found satisfaction in my Savior. You have preachers that preach if you doubt then you must not be saved. You have preacher preach that you must have some experience that is awesome to be saved. You preachers preach that you must weep, rejoice or show other signs to show that you are saved. The reason we are saved is because of the fact of God's Word. I am not saved by some experience I had but I am saved by what God says in his word. I remember the time I was convicted of my sins, and I remember the time that I knew I was going to Hell and after years of thinking I was saved I remember the peace I had once I got saved. This post is not to make people doubt, but I hope it strengthens the fact that we are saved. There are several birthmarks that are in the scriptures to show us that we are saved.

I. Our Love Changes.
Before we got saved all we loved is ourselves and what we could do to get ahead. When we get saved God gives us the Holy Ghost and the first thing he changes in our love toward this world.
A. A Desire to Love the Word.
Every Christian that is saved as a deep desire to know more about God. A desire to read and study God's Word. A person that is saved and says he doesn't want to learn God's word needs to check up.
B. A Desire to Love and Worship.
Our desire for loving the Lord changes , every born again person has a Love for the Savior.
We have a love for the house of God and a desire to be around God's people. We want to be in church, and we need to be in church. There are many in homes across America that have prayed a prayer yet they sit at home and never go to church. I need church to make it through in this life, and I know this is one area after I got saved that I wouldn't let anything stop me from being in the House of the Lord.
C. A Desire to Witness.
A Christian has a desire to witness to others so don't have to go to that awful place called Hell. We developed a burden for peoples salvation.
A. We have a burden for Family to be saved.
God gives us burden for loves ones to be saved.
B. We have a burden for friends.

II. Our Labour Changes.
Before we got saved all we work for is bettering ourselves but after we get saved we get a new commander and work.
God gives us desire to work in his church and for his name.
III. Our Look on Sin Changes.
Before we got saved it didn't bother us when we sinned. But after you get saved the speech that you used to be ungodly changes. The Lord showed me that I was a new creature one day when I cussed at someone after being saved and it seemed like my heart was going to burst from when the Lord spoke to me about my language. Needless to say he took the vile speech and replaced with godly speech. Many areas in our life that were sinful that the Lord starts changing our look and shows us that we don't have to fall into those sins anymore.
When I have doubted if I was saved God has put these birthmarks there for me to go back to and shows me that I am saved. He gives us a verse to examine ourselves whether we be in the faith, I use that verse alot and do go back often to see if I truly have been born-again. Whenever I have every doubted I go to his Word and pray and asked him to give me a peace in my soul, and he has never failed once. My question is can you go back to a time that you know he convicted you of sin, and showed you your need to be saved, if not then chunk whatever you have and called on his holy name. This preacher believes sadly that there are many that have prayed a prayer that if they don't give saved they are going to hell off a pew. Thank God that I know, that I know I am going to heaven. Till next time God Bless.

What a Day That Will Be?

I was thinking today of this song. What a great song and I love what it says today. We face so many things in this life. It seems like we are so busy that is will be good when this all ends. I was thinking of all the heartaches people face. They face the heartache of love ones being lost and not being able to do anything about it. They face the heartache of love ones being out of the Will of God and not being able do anything about it. We get so stressed in this life with the bills that just don't go away. We face the sorrows of seing people that we love go by the way of the grave and even though we know they are in a better place it still don't make it easy on us. We face the letdowns of people in our life. People we thought were strong and there to help us and then we see them falter forgetting that we all can get bogged down. We have pains in places that sometimes no medicine can help and we have to suffer through the pain. I am glad today that I am saved and that I know that one day it will be worth it all. What a Day that Will Be?

When all Work on earth is Done.
We will not have to work for a paycheck anymore, we will not have to clean, cook, take care of the kids when he comes back. I am not saying those things are bad but I know that they sometimes can get burdensome.

When We Can Worship Forever in the Right Spirit.
I have to admit there are times that I don;t worship in the right spirit. There have been times to where I just didn't feel like worshipping the Lord.
What a Day that Will Be?

I. No More Sin
We will never sin again. We will never say a cross word to someone. We will never have another a bad attitude again. We will never have an ungodly thought, deed, or action ever again. It will be great to be able to think right all the time.

II. No More Satan
The reason there will be no more sin is because we will not have to deal with Satan ever again. The one that has caused so much grief will never again be able to do anything to us.
In Closing I thank the Lord that we are coming to an end of all of this mess on this earth, but I thank God What A day that will be when I see the Savior face to face. When I see the one who died for me and loves me even when I haven't loved him back. When I see the One who has watched over me since I have been saved. When I see the One who has been a friend when I haven't had a friend to turn to. When I see the one that I get to spend eternity with forever. Truly What a Day that Will Be. Till next time God Bless You.

Giving Thanks

Ps 107:1, Ps 136:1
O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good:for his mercy endureth forever.

As we entered this time of thanksgiving this year I am reminded that everyday should be a day of thanksgiving for the Christian. We are told in scripture that it is the will of God to give thanks in everything. I believe one of the problems with the body of Christ is we forget to give thanks to the Lord on a daily basis. He has done so much for us and he is worthy of all our thankfulness. I thank God that at this time of the year as we celebrate thanksgiving that many people that don't even name the name of Christ even give thanks to the Lord. I was thinking of several areas this morning that we should be thankful for.

I. Our Country.
I am not proud what America is today with the zest pool of sin, but I thank God he allowed me to be born in this country. I was born in a country that had the freedom of preachers getting up each Sunday and preaching the Word of God so I could trust Jesus as my Savior. We were not born in a poor country where even today people are worrying where they will get there next meal from. People worry about when they worship if someone will come and take them to prison or kill them on the spot. I thank God I have the freedom in this country to take my Bible to work and read it each and everyday, and not only that we can have God's Holy Word in its entirety yet so many neglect his Word.

II. Being A Christian.
I thank the Lord this morning that I am not a Buddhist, or Mormon or Jehovah Witness, but that I am Christian. I thank God that on August 10 1993 the sweet Holy Ghost came and convicted my heart and showed me my need for a Savior and that I trusted him and now I am going to heaven. I realize this morning that there are many out there that do not know Christ and I realize that there are many in the world today that have not even heard the gospel once. Praise the Lord that i am a Christian this morning.

III. For My Church.
I thank God that I belong to a church that is in the right way. I thank GOd that I have a preacher that preaches the WOrd of God straight down the line. I thank God that I have a church to when I am weak that I find strength to go on. I thank GOd that I have a church that when I am burden down that I can lay my burdens down. I have a church that hates sin and preached the kjv. I thank GOd that his presence shows up at our church.

IV. For Christians.
I thank God that I know Christians that when I need prayer they will pray. I thank God that I have Christian friends that when I am doing wrong they are not afraid to rebuke me. I thank God that I have Christian friends so I can talk about spiritual things and that I don't have to be drawn to worldly people.

In Closing so many things to be thankful for, but as we go through this time of thanksgiving may we take a few extra minutes to just thank the Savior for all he does. I hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving and until next time God Bless.

What We are in Christ?

Titus 2:14
Who have himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people zealous of good works.
I was sitting here pondering about this thought that has been on my heart most of the day. I thank God that I am saved. We have so many benefits of being in Christ that sometimes I think we forget all we are in Christ. I thank God that i don't have to go to hell, and I thank God that I get to go to heaven. I thank him that he gave me his holy spirit to lead and guide me in all truth. I thank God that he has given me the joy of serving him. There are some things in this verse that we are to be in Christ.
I. We are a Purchased Person.
We are been purchased. The word here is redeem. We have been bought with a price. That price was the Lord Jesus shed blood on Calvary. The bible tells that we no longer are own. We are not to be self driven but spirit led. THe problem with most saved people including myself is that I have too much self in the way. Self controls so much in our life that it is no wonder we don't have the power of God today.
II. We are Purified Person.
He purified us. He cleanse us with his blood and gives us a brand new start, and expects to live right. He expects us to live godly in this present world. He has purifed us from sin. He washed them all the way, the sad thing is that we let sin reign in our mortal body and we fail so much because we forget that we are purifed.
III. We are Peculiar Person.
We are different now that we are saved. There are things now that we do that people say we are weird. When I read the Word of God and work that is weird to a lost and dying world. When I talk about the Lord instead of what world offers that is weird to people. When I listen to good preaching instead of the ungodly music people listen to that is weird. We are pilgrims in this land, we are to be in the world but not of it. I am reminded that This world is not my home I am only passing through. People should think that we are weird. The problem is too many have the stench of the world that are saved that the world sees no difference. Therefore they just live the same way. People should be convicted by the way we are different. I thank God that i am different.
In closing I just wanted to remind us tonight of what are in Christ. We need to as Christians get serious about how are lives effect other people. They either effect positively, or negativily. We are to show the Love of Jesus but we are not to compromise that love. Till next time God Bless.

The Love of God

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

I was thinking about the love of God this morning. I preached on falling out of love with the Lord last night. The Lord had showed me some areas in my life and I thank him for that. I thank God that he loves me this morning. I thank God that over two thousand years ago he showed his love by sending his son to die on the cruel cross for me. One of my posts most recently talked about his faithfulness to us and he is faithful. I have been to the point in my life that wondered if anyone love me. Then I am reminded from the Lord that he loves me. God can't help it he is Love. What about his love this morning is so wonderful?

I. His Love his Undescribable.
How do we describe his love, we can't? I mean think about he came and died for sinful man when he couldn't stand sin. He became sin who knew know sin. I asked a question think about putting one of you children, or one your parents on the cross to die for the whole world and most of us if not all of us would not. However God did this for us.

II. His Love is Unconditional.
When we love somebody we sometimes have conditions on loving that person. God never has conditions on loving us. He always loves us no matter what we do. When we are good he loves us and when we are bad he loves us. When I am in his will he loves me and when I am not in his will he loves me. There is no requirements for God loving us and I thank God for this because we fail him so many times.

This is just a little thought this morning but since God loves us he gives us a commandment to love other people. We are to love other people but we do not have to love their sin. We are to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but we are to try to love people to Jesus. In conclusion since God loves us so much shouldn't we try to love God with all our heart , soul and mind. May the Lord bless you till next time and remember God loves you.

Whom do you obey?

We ought to obey God rather than man. Acts 5:29b

I was thinking about this verse the last couple of days. The passage here is when Peter and the Apostles were told not to preach Jesus and then Peter said this to those people. We all face a decisions sometimes when we choose who we are going to obey. Sometimes it comes in a work situation, sometimes it comes in a political setting, and sadly sometimes it comes in a family setting. We must learn as Christians that we are to obey God no matter what. We are to do things that please the Lord and not man. I want to look at these settings for a couple of minutes.

I. Work Situations.
I was thinking at work sometimes you have to make a decision on whom you will follow. For instance when it comes to the boss coming and asking you something about what someone did. You have to make a decision. If you follow man you will probably lie, but when you follow God you will always tell the truth. Or another scenerio what if you asked to go somewhere you shouldn't. IF you go you are following man, but if you don't go then you follow God. Whom will you obey?
II. Goverment Situations.
When is right not to obey the government when they step against God's Word. We are suppose to obey the government but if they say you can't carry God's Word anymore then you are to obey God. God is are final authority. There is not prince, king, president, leader that supercedes God. If we are put in the position of whether we live or die over the Lord. We should choose God. Whom will you obey?

III. Family Situations.
I want to give a little more on this. Normally our family is the closest to us. Sometimes family wants to go a different direction and we must follow God. I have had this happen a few times since I have been married. It was a decision on whether we stayed or went somewhere with family or if we followed God and went to the HOuse of God. Sadly many put family above the Lord. There are many Christians who would spend time with family instead of being faithful to the LOrd. How about this situtation where you know something is not right in your family and you must stand against your family because of what God's word says. This is hard but we must do it. We must realize that there a lot of carnal saved people who would rather obey man and particapate in things against GOd's Word than obeying the Lord. What God wants is for us to take a stand and always obey him in everything . Whom will you obey?

In closing God allows us to make this choice in our lives. I would love to say that I have always obeyed God instead of man but this is not true, but it is my hearts desire to obey from this day until I die or he comes in everything. Till next time God Bless.

What God Wants?

I was thinking and just pondering on how great a God we serve. He knows everything we do or say before we ever say it. I was thinking how he saved us and how he has guided us to learn more about him. I was also thinking about this question. What does God want today from his creation. He created everything for his purpose and for his glory. God is so good to us. As I have read posts today some talked about how the Lord allows the beauty of the seasons to change. There are several things that God wants from his children tonight. God always wants something from the lost man.

To the Sinner God wants them to seek forgiveness of Sin.
Remember according to Peter 3:9 God wants all to come to repentance. God wants all to be saved even though all will not be saved. He made a way through Jesus for all to be saved. He gives everyman the choice of being saved but sadly so many reject the Lords call to Salvation. I believe it will be a sad day for God when he has to cast some of his creation that rejects him to be cast into the Lake of Fire.

To the Saved God wants fellowship.
God desire from the time he created Adam was to fellowship with man. God has always had a desire to talk to his creation. We know sin stopped that fellowship so can allowed the sacrifices of animals to atone for sin, but one day he sent his son to die and then sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in his creation so we can have fellowship with God. I know in my life I don't fellowship as much as I can with my Lord. I wonder how many Christians in the world hasn't even fellowship with God today. God is waiting to hear from us today.
To Saved God wants us to have Faith.
If there is one area I believe sometimes I lack in it is trusting God. He wants his children to be able to come to him at all times. The sad thing is most of the time we come to him when he is the last resort. The bible tells us in I John whatsoever is not of faith is sin. It is also tells us it is impossible to believe God without faith. We have saving faith but sometimes we lack that living faith.
To the Saved God wants us to Forgive.
This is what God wants from his children we must learn to forgive when someone hurts us. This was something that I had a problem with for a while and allowed myself to get bitter. That is always a bad thing. Remember the word tells us to always forgive no matter what the pain that was caused. We can not be right with God and not forgive. God wants his children to learn this principle of forgiveness. When someone don't accept our forgiveness that is on them. It is sad when God children hold grudges for years. There is no joy and there is no peace when we hold grudges.

In closing there are many other things that God wants from us but this is what the Lord put on my heart tonight. If we are lacking in any of these areas may we ask the Lord to help us he will not turn us away. Till next time God bless you

The Sin Destroying America

Proverbs 14:34
Righteousness Exalteth a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people.

Before I get started I want to thank God that he allowed me to be born in the greatest nation in the world. This is one of the only nations that you have the right to express freely your religion whether it be the right one or not. However these rights are being taken away every single day. There are many things that bring reproach against the Lord. We have the sin of abortion which last count we have murdered 50 million babies. That is like 1/6 of our population today. We have the sin of sodomy that is running rapant in our nation. It is a sad day when the sodomite has more rights than the Christian. We have the sin of divorce. This is a sin God meant for a woman and man to stay together till death to they part. When 50 percent of marriages in the United States ends up in divorce that is a sin against a Holy God. These are all ungodly sins. However except for the last one most Christians do not partake in the first two.

Now the sin that I believe is destroying America is the sin of Idolatry. We know that the ungodly world promotes this sin. The sad thing is that this is a sin practice by the majority of the Church. Idolatry is anything that takes the place of the worship of God in our lives. I have to sadly say I have committed this sin in my life. There are many things that people put in place of the Lord. THey sometimes put jobs in place of the Lord in their lives. They sometimes place family in place of the Lord. Some put sports in place of the Lord. You have Christians that idolize a ungodly sports figure that most of the time is living in the life of sin and we wonder why there is not any power in our lives. However in our movement the idol that is set up in most people lives is the church. I know we are to serve the church but there are people that preach the church should be all of your life and the sad thing is most people get so bogged down with service that they set the church up as an idol in their lives. I have been their done that. If anything has God off the throne in our lives then we have commited the sin of Idolatry. Remember our ultimate command is to love the the Lord God with all our heart, soul, and mind. I don't know if this is possible all the time but I know we must strive towards it in our lives. The reason I believe America is what she is today is because the church has no power because of this sin of Idolatry. May the help us to examine ourselves to see if we are committing this sin, and if we are may we repent of this sin and get the power of God back into our lives and into the church and maybe we will see more people get saved. May the Lord bless you till next time.

Lets Get a Vision!!!

Where there is no vision, the people perish. Prov 29:18
There are so many ways we can take a thought like this. I know we have other denominations that major on this thing of a vision. They have a vision of being rich, or they have vision of some spirit telling them something contrary to the Word of God. I believe tonight in my heart there is one area I as a Christian am failing in, and I know many of our fellow brother and sisters are failing in and that is the area of as the preacher put it last night at church soulwarning. We as the people of God must get burden about peoples souls. The best way I know that we can get a burden for souls is allowing the Lord to give us a vision of Hell. Now I want us to take a trip together to Hell. I want you for a short few moments to imagine this. I do know if this thought don't burden my heart I don't know what else will. We are traveling through Hell and I want you to recognize first the Place of Hell. It is dark, and you can see nothing. The flames are very hot and it feels like it is scorching our skin. I hear the screams and they are to much to bear. People crying out help me, God give me one more chance, God give me something to drink. I hear people being tormented. There is no relief for them. I wish that I could do something for them, but I can not. Friend this place is a whole lot worst that is describe. Now lets go to the next step and the people of Hell. First realize that the Satan is not in Hell nor scripturally will he ever be there. He will be cast into the Lake of Fire. Now some people. There is John my co worker. The one that God put me on the job to warn about Hell. He was rude and mean and now He is in Hell. He was not nice so therefore saw fit not to talk to him about the Lord after the last time he turned the Lord down. There are other co workers that nothing was ever said about the Lord Jesus and now they are in Hell. Another person there is Aunt Jodie. I was scared to talk to her about the Lord and now she is here in Hell screaming out my name and saying Why didn't you tell me. ( Many of Christians families are roasting in Hell because there loved one was afraid to say something) and we move to the next person it is my friend. The one that I was afraid to say anything to because of our friendship. I thought it was better to keep a friend than to tell them that they would die and go to Hell. Now we go to the last phase of that trip and that is the Penalty. Why are these people here? They rejected the Lord Jesus Christ. As I listen to the screams I now wonder if those people would love to have a second chance. Maybe it was a family member, maybe a friend, maybe a co worker. I wonder would they like another chance. The penalty is there fate is sealed forever there is no getting out of Hell. As we leave this vision of Hell tonight let me asked you who do you know is going to Hell and is worth staying quiet and knowing because you were quiet people are in Hell because you had no vision of this awful place. I thank God that we don't have to go to this place but what are we doing to keep people out. To close tonight may the Lord help us to get a reality of Hell tonight. Till next time may the Lord bless you.

Give Glory to God

This is going to be one of two posts today. I was having a minor problem with my blog but it seems like it is now fix. I have a post God gave me last night saved at home on Lets Get a Vision.

I Cor 10:31
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

THis is a powerful verse. I thank God that he saved me when I was 17 but God did not save me just to sit on a pew. GOd expects us to give him glory in this life. He is worthy of all glory. I also know reading the Bible that GOd will not share his glory with anyone. I heard a preacher one day say that the reason he doesn't believe we have seen a sweeping revival is because we have to many preachers that take the glory just before God does something. THis is sad. God wants us to bring glory in several area's of our life.

Does are Lips bring God glory?
We should praise the Lord everyday we get up because the Lord has given another day of breathing his air. It is easy to praise God when everything is alright but we are too bring him glory when the walls are caving in on our life. Besides praise how about the way we speak to others. Does our conversation bring God glory or does it appease the flesh. We should have a godly conversation. It is hard to bring him glory when one gossips, or backbites or just cuts people down. THis shouldn't happen as a Christian but I know I have been guilty of this in my own life. Shame on me.

Does our Labour bring him GLory.
We either labour in the power of the flesh or Labour in the power of the Spirit. The reason people get burn out is because they are trying to bring glory to what they have done instead of bringing glory to God by what God has done through them. When we sing does it bring him glory or self glory, when we teach does bring him glory or self glory, when we lead people to Christ does it bring him glory or self glory. If it brings self glory then it is just burned up works.

Does our Life bring him Glory
The only way my life brings him glory is when it is surrendered to him fully. He wants our lives more than anything else.
Does my daily habits bring him glory.
Does my dress bring him glory.
We either bring glory to his name in everything we do or we bring shame to his name in what we do.
To close May the Lord remind us today to bring glory to his holy name because he is worthy and is the least I can do for everything he has done for me. GOd bless till next time.

Free Free Free

John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

I was thinking of the song Thank God I am Free. We use to sing that song a lot at our other church. Sometimes I think we forget that we are free this morning. Think about the chorus Thank God I am Free, free, free from this world of sin, what a powerful thought this morning that when I trusted Christ as my Savior I gain freedom from sin in my life. We choose to sin against the Lord. He has set us free. I thank God that we have advocate in the Lord Jesus Christ but the more we see what Jesus did for us the more we should be living for him. I am not free as a christian to do what I want the Bible tells us that we have been bought with a price. We have so many christians that are in bondage to something in their life, or they have a stronghold in their life. Some struggle with smoking, some struggle with music some struggle with worldly entertainment and I am sure there are many other things people struggle with this morning. I am reminded in Romans that we are dead to sin, alive to God. When we got saved the old man was buried and we have a new nature. We choose to ressurect to old man when ever we sin. Please don't get me wrong we will not have sinless perfection but I do believe this morning that we can probably sin less than we do. What is the key to conquouring sin in our life, or what is the key to living a spirit filled life. THis is so simply stated in the Bible but it is probably the hardest thing we have to do in our CHristian lives. This thing has been preached many times since I have been saved but I still struggle with it on a daily basis. It is Crucifying the flesh. The reason we don't have victory in every area of our life is we are not dead to the old man. THe reason we have attitudes, or we have rebellion, or we have wrong conversations is because we have not crucified the flesh. When we die to self nothing will bother us. If you go up to a dead body and talk to it, it is not going to say anything back. This is where we as Christians need to be we can not lot our feelings dictate how we treat other people. You think about whenever I have attitude with family, friends, or co workers it is because I am not dead. I have seen what happens when I crucify the flesh, and I have seen when I haven't. There is a big difference. We are free this morning. If you have an area in your life that you are struggling with the old man must die before you have victory. May the Lord bless you till next time.

Somebody is Always Watching

II Cor 3:2
You are our epistle written in our hearts, know and read of all men.

After the last post I wanted to put something that would be encouraging but it doesn't seem like the Lord wanted to go that direction. Maybe next time. We have all heard the phrase you are the only bible some people ever know. We are not perfect and we make mistakes but we are to be a light in a dark world at all times. Easy saying hard living. We are the salt of the earth and when we get saved we get a testimony I wonder how many times we have damaged the name of Christ by what we said, what we do, where we go. Somebody is always watching us there is no exception to the rule. We should have a hearts desire to bring glory to the name of our Lord but sad to say I know have brought shame on more than a couple of occasions. Who is watching us?

I. Our Family is Watching Us.
This includes the wife watching and seeing if the husband is the spiritual leader he needs to be. If husband are honest we all fail some in this area. This includes the husband watching the wife to see if she has a meek and quiet spirit and if she is submitting to the authority of the leadership of the husband. This includes the Children watching the parents to see if they are the same at home as they are at church. Children read the parents like a book I believe this is why we see so many of church kids in up in the world because Momma and Daddy were hypocrits. The includes parents watching their saved child to see if they are living for God or if they are just playing church. I know parents who have been saved because of a child's faith and I know parents who have turned church away because of a child's behavior.

The Church watches Us.
There are people in church that always watching to see if Bro Or Sister so and so is going to stay with God. They watch are faithfulness, attitude, and they way we present ourselves. It pains my heart when someone starts missing church because I know where it is heading. The church watches the preachers kids to see if they are living and acting right. Sometimes this gives someone a reason to leave the church.

The World watches us.
They know if they can discredit us that they will continue to live anyway they want. They watch to see if we are faithful to going to church. THey watch to see what kind of places we are going too. THey watch to see the way we dress. The world watches to see what kind of reaction we will have if someone does us wrong. THe watches to see if we are different like we say we are. I wonder how many people have not been saved because of some saved person acting or going to the same ungodly places they do. This is not an excuse that God is going to put up with but we ought to stay faithful to the Lord's cause.

In closing we must understand that someone is always watching us. This is why we must have a guard up and we also must be careful to not bring shame to his Holy name. If we have today is a new day and yes we will have to start over but we can start today trying to repair the testimony we have left on someone. May the Lord bless you till next time.

The Test of a Haughty Spirit

Prov:18:12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

I normally don't put back to back posts up but I could not get away from this one today. I was reading this morning and this verse jump out at me in my devotions. What a sobering verse. The Bible also tells us in Prov: 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. So what is the definition of haughty I am glad you asked. Haughty in the bible means to show onself above others. If this doesn't describe our world I don't know what does and if this doesn't describe people in churches maybe I am missing it this morning. I look up the word in the dictionary and means to act disdainful or arrogant. Before we say we don't have a problem I believe there is a test we can take. Before I get started I found some interesting things out about myself.

I. The first test is How do we look at the Christian who isn't that close to the Lord. I passed this test today. We should look at the brother or sister who is having trouble with love and and compassion and be humble that it is by the grace of God I am not in this same position as they may be. We as children of God can not look down on other christians I believe when we do this we have a haughty spirit sometimes.

II. The second test is that I am always right no matter what someone else thinks or says. I kind of failed this test. Sometimes I have a way of being a little haughty when it comes to telling people they are wrong even if they are in the wrong way. I esteem myself higher than I need too. I know people that always believe they are right and they will always try to get the last word in.
III. Have you passed the first two if you have praise the Lord. The third test is I am always criticizing those that don't have the same talents or same skills that I have. God gives each and everyone of us a talent that we must use for the Lord. SOme have the talent to sing. I hate when people who can sing every note right thing they are more special than that one that can't sing and has the power of God. I would rather hear someone with the power of God. Or someone that can disect the scriptures in teaching or preaching and they think they are something better than that one that studders or doesn't always get his point across the way the other does.
In Closing Pride is the root of all sin, and one of the fruits of pride is a haughty spirit. Our churches in AMerica are rotting from the inside out because of a haughty spirit. If we find ourselves always wanting to be right or always in a judgemental attitude we may need to repent of this sin and humble ourselves before the Lord. God can humble us and that is not very fun. If you have no problem in this area please pray that the Lord will keep you humble and pray for the other 99 percent of saved people that probably do. May the Lord bless you till next time.

Just a Closer Walk with Him

James 4:8 Draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you.
I was thinking as I put this post up there are many people in our world that profess to know Jesus. You asked them if they are saved and they yes. It don't matter if they are partying up a storm or if they are immoral but they yes they know Jesus. I have a problem with that we all make mistakes and fail the Lord on a normal basis but we as children of the king have the Holy Ghost living inside of us. The Holy Ghost is there to reprove us of our sin. He is there to make us feel guilty when we sin against the Lord. I believe every child of God has a desire inside them to just walk close to the Lord. We sometimes let the circumstances whether they are financial problems, family problems, health problems detour us from a healthy and closer walk with the Lord. My hearts desire even though my flesh absolutely hates it is to be close to the Lord. We are bombarded with so much junk today on t.v., places we go, or just things are families do that a lot of times we are distracted from are most important thing we can do in our life and that is to be close to the Lord. When we get close to the Lord it does a few things.
I. Our Family Life will be Different
When we are not right with the Lord, or as close to the Lord as we once were we sometimes let it affect are families. We are not very nice people when are fellowship is broken with the Lord. Sometimes the wife or husband suffer but most the time the children will suffer.
II. Our Church Life will be Different.
We will be more into the service. We will sing that song unto the Lord, we will teach the class with renewed desire.
How do we get close to the Lord. It gives clear way we draw nigh to God he will draw nigh to us. We can be as close as we want to be. The sad thing is many christians don't desire to be close to the Lord they would rather stay where they are and that is just what the devil wants. I believe the devil only goes after those that are really sincerly seeking the Lord. May we get as close to him today as we have ever been in our life. Till net time God Bless.

A New Start

Ps 51:7b wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
The psalm here is written by David after he commits sin with Bathsheba. This is one of my favorite passages in the whole bible because I have to use it often. The bible tells us in I John 1:9 that if we confess our sin he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I was thinking about when we get saved. We all have a past that we are not very fond of. I know there are things in my past no one but the Lord and I know about. I don't tell people what things I use to be involved in that is no one business. When we got saved he wash us from all our sins. Jesus when he died and shedded his own blood made away for all those sins to be washed away. I don't understand how he did but the Bible tells us as far as the east is from the west so far hath he removed our transgressions. It also tells us he don't remember our sins anymore thank GOd for that. I just thank GOd for the day he saved me it was a brand new start.

However, we all get our feet soiled again in this world we all make mistakes in this world. We all have times that we must get that clean feeling again. This is why it is so important to keep short accounts of sin in our lives. I am glad that GOd in his faithfulness doesn't give up on me as a person. I fail him so many times and I get so tired and weary of doing it, but he always there in his love and his mercy and puts his arms around us and says he still loves us. That is the greatest blessing we have as Christians besides being saved which is the most important blessing. I thank GOd when I sin I can get under that blood and be whiter than snow.

THen there is the last new start. That is when we leave this world in the rapture or in death. We get a new body like until the Lords. THere will be no way of sinning ever again. There will be no Satan trying to get us to fall every day. There will be no dealing with the flesh anymore that will be a great day. We will finally do Phil 4:8 we will think pure thoughts all the time. It will be a brand new start in the heavenlies that day.

In Closing thank the Lord that we can get a brand new start each and every day. All we have to do is go to him in repentance tell him what we did and asked forgiveness and he forgives. THis is why we should try our best each and everyday to yield to the Holy Spirit so we can be used of him in mighty ways. Until the next time God BLess.

Jesus Loves Us

I was sitting here and on my screen saver at work my screen has Jesus Loves Us, Praise the Lord. I am so glad that Jesus loves me. He loves me inspite of my failures, lack of faithfulness to him, inspite of my faults. He loves us today. I think of people since I have grown up who have loved me. I know my mom and dad loved me even though they didn't attend church, I know my brother and sister love me, I know my wife loves me, and I know people at my church love me, but there love is not comparable to the Lord Jesus Christ. Sometimes for people in our life we have to do something to be loved, but with Jesus I don't have to do nothing to be loved. How does Jesus show that he loves us.

I. Because of His Sacrifice.
He died a sinners death so we might go free.
He realize we had no chance without him dying for us.
He let nothing detour him from dying for the sins of the world.
I am so glad he came to die and so glad that he sent the holy ghost my way to convict and so glad he didn't give up on me when I rejected him.

II. Because of His Supplying Hand.
He is all we need. He has come through so many times inspite of my lack of faith. When ever I need something he comes through for me whether be spiritually, mentally, physically or emotionally. May the Lord help us learn that he is all we need this day and in our everyday lives.

In Closing I just wanted to remind us today Jesus loves us. He is so good very good to us. A little short today but since he loves us we should love him with all our heart, soul, and mind. God bless till next time.

In Everything Give Thanks

In Everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I thess 5:18

Wow! This is a powerful verse. We have so much to thank GOd for. We can thank for the air we breathe, we can thank him for the country we live in, we can thank him for saving our souls, we can thank him for the blessings of live. The sad thing is the church shows ingratitude towards the Lord. I am in my own life just as with anyone else easily give thanks when things our going well. We can praise him, and brag on him when we are on the mountain but what happens when we end in the valley? What happens if someone we are close too leaves the will of God? What happens when as I did this week you overdraft your checking account and you live from pay check to paycheck and now you have to figure in those overdraft charges. It is not very easy to praise the Lord or gives thanks for all these things in our lives. I know the Bible tells us to learn this but it is very hard to do sometimes. Most the time in our lives we put us in the situations that we are in. It wasn't Gods fault a friend left the Will of GOd, it wasn't God's fault that the checking account got overdrafted it was my fault. How do we learn to obey the Lord in this area of giving thanks for everything. This is the will of God,if we aren't giving thanks for everything we are not right with God.

I. We Realize he is God.
God can get us out of messes that we get in if it will bring him glory. He is God if he doesn't do another thing for me the rest of my life he is still worthy to be thanked. It should not matter on our circumstances of whether we give thanks, we should give thanks because he is God.

II. We Rely on God.
When the things happen in our lives that we don't understand we just realize that GOd is control. It is easy to praise him when everything is falling alright finacially, physically, emotionally or spiritually, but when we get in that valley that is where our character is built.

In closing give thanks, I promise you I have the last couple of days sinned in this area. I know what I am talking about but the Bible hasn't changed it still says to gives thanks for everything. Till next time God bless.

What are you pressing for?

I press toard the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Phil 4:14

The apostle paul is writing here. Paul in verse 19 said that I might know him. As I sit here this evening typing this is should be are hearts desire. The sad thing is many Christians are aiming at nothing in their life. They like staying right where they are at. I am convinced that if we stay in the same place we will eventually die. God don't want us living an average Christian Life. He wants us to live a spiritual life. He wants us to have victory in all areas of our lives. We choose how far we go with God. We can be as close as we want to the Lord. The sad thing is there are only a handful that yield to the Lord to acheive this in their lives.

There is a prize at the end of this when all is said and done. HOw many will truly get this prize. I was just thinking of a few things that we should be pressing for in our life.

I We should be pressing to be a Better Student of the Word of God.
We are suppose to read the word, study the word, meditate on the word and memorize the Word. We will never know everything in the Bible, however I believe we can know more than we do. There should be goals in our life concerning the Word of God.

II. We should be pressing to be a Better Servant in the Work of God.
I pray all who read this are doing something in the house of God. We weren't saved to sit in a pew. We all can do something in the house of the Lord. It could be teaching, it could be singing, in could be cleaning the church or anything else concerning his work. It could be us just being a servant to one another. THe christian should have the mind set of trying to be a blessing to someone else.

III. We should be pressing to be a better Soulwinner in the Witness of God.
I am going to take this from a different direction. How many times do we stop when someone says they are not ready to get saved. The key ingredient to be a soulwinner is to have the power of God in our life. If we don't have his power in our life we will never be the soulwinner we could be.

To close these are just a couple of thoughts that the Lord has given me. You ask me how I am doing on these and I need to do better in all areas in my own life. I pray the Lord would help us to rely on him more, as we endeavor to do these things in our lives. May the Lord bless you till next time.

Watch Out The Devil Is Coming

I Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vilgilant, because your adversary the devil as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom he may devour.

This will not be a very long post. As we just came out of Revival this last week we have had people make decisions for Christ. Some have decided to give things over, some have decided to get right with the Lord, some have decided just to keep going on for the Lord. I know this as a preacher God spoke to my heart with me being discouraged about our church, he did a work in my life. However as much as God loved helping us spiritually this week, the devil hated all the God did in our lives. He hates us, and we should hate him as much as he hates us. The devil will try his best to get us to give in to whatever it is that we decided to give in our life. So we must get prepared for him coming because he is coming. There are some things that we must be reminded of.

I He is our Adversary.
He hates us. He is our enemy. THere are things he wants to do in our life that when we open door leads to destruction.

He has an Approach.
It is decietful
He will put something there that seems alright just to get us hooked again, and getting us to live defeated.
It is dangerous.
I believe and some may disagree but when God does a great work in our life, that is when the devil is whispering and adding pressure to our life to make sure that great work doesn't get done.

He has an Appetite.
His appetite is to devour us. It says he walks about as a lion seeking whom he may devour. Who does he devour.
He devours the wicked.
He devours the weak.
He devours the wavering.
If we waver in our faith, or if we waver in our decisions we make that is when to devil has the best chance of devouring us.

In closing I hate the devil but I also know he hates me and is looking for a spot in our lives to where he can make his presence known. WATCH OUT HE IS COMING. God bless you till next time.

What Will He Find Us Doing When He Comes

The Word of God tells us Jesus is coming back. We are probably on the brink of this all being over. I believe I will not see the grave, but I will see the Lord. We know when he comes back there will be many who are not ready for his coming. There probably is over 80 percent of the world that don't even know Jesus. In AMerica most people believe in heaven and believe they are going. WHat a sad day that will be when Jesus comes and they have no more hope. THey spread they false doctrine and then realize they miss it. THe sad thing is that probably in the independent baptist church over 50 percent is lost. Many hold to a profession and they don't even remember the date, or what Jesus did for them. I remember when I was lost and they date I thought I got saved I just remember praying but I don't remember the Lord doing anything. HOwever the day I was saved I remember about everything that happen that night.

I want to talk about Christians. WHat will he find those that name the name of Christ doing. I think of three things and there are plenty more.

I. SOme he will find sinning.
He will find a lot of those that are his probably not doing what they are suppose to do. He will find them out of fellowship with him which is sin. I believe the reason Jesus comes and gets his church is because so many Christians are bring shame to the name of the Lord.

II. SOme he will find Sitting.
We were not saved to be a pew sitter. We were saved to do something for the Lord. There are people I know that just decided it was time to sit, and the cause of Christ suffers because of this. You have heard the phrase 10 percent of the people do 100 percent of the work. That is in mega churches and small churches.

III. SOme he will find Serving.
I pray this is where he finds me when he comes. By the grace of God I want to be doing something that will effect the cause of Christ when comes. We serve in many ways. We can serve by what we do at the church, we can serve by being a witness, we can serve by helping our brothers and sisters in Christ.

SO my question is what will he by the grace of God find you doing? If he came tonight what will he find you doing. God bless you till next time.

Lies from the Devil

John 8:44
Please read this verse before checking the post. The devil has many names and he is a liar. He lied in the garden, and since he has lied probably every day of his life. As a Christan we know the devil has a three fold purpose he wants to steal, kill and destroy.
He wants to steal the seed of the Word of God from us when we God deals with our heart to get it right. This is why it is so important to deal with the Lord before we leave the church. He wants to literally kill us, but thank God he can't do that without God's permission. Lastly he wants to destroy our testimony. He wants to make us a powerless christian and that is what happens when we lose are testimony. However he likes lying to us Christian in other areas of our life. He is very good at what he does and I am not giving credit to the devil but look how many people are out of church that name the name of Christ. He whispers a few lies to us christians even today.

I. He whispers Saved can't live seperated lives.
He knows when we live holy and right people are affected by it so he tries and does a good job and getting christians to act like the world, talk like the world, go to worldly places, and just to be like the world. However we know God wants us to live seperated unto him. He wants us to seperate from things, and when we don't do this we are in rebellion, and then God has to chasten us because he loves us.

II. He whispers Strength doesn't come from Scriptures.
He does his best to keep us out of the Word of GOd. The reason we have so many weak churches is because we have christians that don't get in the Word. Strength only comes from the Word. WHen we grew up the only way got stronger is by eating physical food. Spiritually the same way the only way get stronger as a christian, and make it through trials in when we are in Gods word. Satan does not want us in the Word. THerefore he will whisper you won't get nothing out of it so why read it.

III. He whispers Satisfaction is not in the Savior.
Satan puts so much out their for us to get satified with. The only satisfaction we will ever find is in Jesus. We go through things that we don't understand and he whispers Jesus don't love you, Jesus don't care for you, Jesus don't even know who you are and unless we are right with GOd we sometimes do believe him. But this is one thing I have found out in my life. Jesus Satisfies. He is the only one that truly satifies.

In closing let us just tell the devil to hush and trust and believe God. Till next time God bless you.

Revival: Now or Never

Our church is going to have revival next week. I believe our church really does need revival. We have to be able to affect our community and the only way that is going to happen is if we get a revival started in the community. It starts with each member of our church. Our country also needs revival however in my opinion our country may have gone to far with us telling Israel they had divide the land that God gave them. However in this post I want to get it down to a personal level. We need revival. We need a shot in the arm to keep going until Jesus comes. We go through many trials some from the Lord, and some from our own doing. I believe we are in the end of end times look at what is going on. I believe most of the body of Christ don't want revival they just want to keep living the way they are without God getting in their business. How sad but true with most saved people. I personally have been a many of good meetings, but I have never seen God get a hold of a person for any length of time and start a fire of revival with that person. The post title is for a reason. We don't know how much more time we are going to live as matter of fact we are not promised tomorrow. So we either have revival now or we may never have revival. The Word of GOd says are life is like a vapor. We know the Lord wants us in close fellowship with him. When was the last time you talked to the Lord and it seem like he was in the room with you? Why do we always wait for Revival meeting to have revival? I was talking to someone and they said the greatest revivals are the ones not plan by man but when God sweeps in without a revival meeting. THis is what we must see in our personal lives. He wants us to love him so much that he can use us mightily. The only thing that stops God from using us in us. For those that may not go to our church that reads this you can have revival. We turn from our will, way, and turn to God's will, and God's ways. In closing how long will God give out the call to revival and we keep turning it down before he moves on and finds someone who really wants revival. I pray that he gives me this chance and that for the first time I would experience a holy ghost sent revival in my heart. God bless you till next time.

God is Good

Psalm 107:1

O Give Thanks unto the Lord, for he is good;for his mercy endureth forever.

A short post tonight but as I was sitting here thinking about what to put on my post I thought I just brag on the Lord for a few minutes tonight. God has been so good to me. Though many times I am not what I need to be for God still is good in spite of me. HE can't help it tonight it is his character to be good. Our character is not always to be good to people or to God. There are so many area he is has been good to me. He Saved my Soul when I was 17. He called to preach when I was a young Christian. He called to the ministry when I was 24. He gave us his Word so we can walk in the light and not in darkness. He allowed me to be born in this great country. He could of allowed me to be born where the Gospel is not preached. He has been so good. He allows me the health so can provide for my family. He gave me a submissive wife. I know preachers who their wife don't submit always to the authority of the husband. I also know Christians whose wifes don't sumbit to the authority of their husband. I don't have to worry about that. He gave me good friends who I can confide in that I don't have to worry about blabbing my business to everyone. He gave me a great Pastor who preaches the truth and stands on the Word of God. YOu see he has been very good. Even when we go through tough times he is still good to us. A little different tonight but I feel this is what the Lord would have me put on the blog tonight. How has God been good to you? After reading this post take a few minutes and do what the verse since give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. Until next time God Bless YOu.

God wants our best

Col 3:23

And whatsoever ye do,do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men;

THe apostle Paul wrote this book of Colossians. As we read this verse let me say first of all this is a easy verse to read and preach but it is definitely a hard verse to live by. The modern church sometimes preaches that it is o.k. to mess up and it is o.k. to not give your best because GOd understands. God doesn't understand our disobedience. When we are not doing everything in our life unto the Lord we are disobedient. Whatever task the Lord has for us he expects us to put our whole heart into it. The sad thing is many saved people give God their left overs.

I was thinking of some areas God wants our best. THese are in no means all of what God wants our best in but a couple.

I God wants our best in Worship.
Most people have no idea what worship is. We know for us to worship the Lord we must do it in spirit and in truth. We worship someone or something everyday. I pray that it is the Lord. Some worship family over the Lord. Some worship sports over the Lord. SOme worship leisure time over the Lord. We should have a desire in our heart to worship the Lord with all our heart. He deserves it, and he demands it.

II. God wants our best in Works.
What we do for the Lord we need to put our whole heart into it. There have been times that I have preached that I did not put my whole heart into it. I know this because the last time I preached I did and the next day I had a spiritual hangover. I was drained the next day. But how about when someone teaches they should put their whole heart into it. How about when someone sings in the church they should put their whole heart into. We must realize that when we don't we are not right with the Lord. May the Lord help us to put our whole heart in everything we do it the church.

III. God wants our best in Witnessing.
SO many time saved people only witness verbally at visitation. However it we are sensitive to the Holy Spirit there are people everyday that the Lord wants us to witness to. I want to talk about are life. We are a witness for God everyday by how we live, act, speak. Whether we are a good or bad one is up to us. When we get up in the morning what we put on either shows Christ or shows the world. How we deal with people at work either show Christ or show the world. How we act when the world seems to be crumbling at our feet either shows Christ or shows the World. What kind of witness are we verbally and daily?

These our just a few thoughts the Lord gave me this morning. May he help us all give him our very best in everything. I know there are areas I must to better in. I want to everything heartily unto the Lord. May God bless you until next time.

The Word of the Lord Came

Just a short post this evening. I was thinking about this thought throughout the scriptures we find this phrase the Word of the Lord Came. In the old testament when ever the Word of the Lord Came the people had to make a decision for the Lord. The people in the Old Testament did not have the Word of God. THe way they heard from God is through his men or directly from God himself. We have the WOrd of GOd. How precious is it to us today. Many countries do not have the WOrd of God and we have several copies. People die daily around our world for the Word of God. The sad thing is most church people don't spend no time in the Word. The majority of people expect the Pastor to do their studying for them, or they expect their Sunday School teacher to teach them all they need to know. I believe it is sad that most Saved people can't quote more than 10 verses, some don't know where to find all the Books of the Bible, SOme don't even know how many books of the Bible are in the WOrd. People would rather spend time watching T.V. or going shopping or reading a carnal book than learning from the HOly Spirit. If I seem upset I am not really just I too am guilty of not spending more time with the Lord. Our teenagers in churches would rather spend time with video games or playing sports or spending time with the opposite sex than to spend time with the Lord. We need Revival in so many area's in the church. We need to Soul win more, we need to Pray more, we need to give more and not just financially, but we need to have a Revival in this area of Studying the Word of God. How much time have you read today? I would have to say I am convicted because I haven't read none yet today. How many days did you miss reading last week. We wonder why we have no power in our lives and this is the reason we spend little time in the Bible and thus it is not able to change us into the image of Christ. Just a little thought this evening may the Lord help us all spend more time in getting know him in His Word. Till next time God Bless YOu.

It is Time to Wake Up

I Cor 15:34
Awake to righteousness; and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

It has been a a few days since I have posted. I have been pondering over what has happen in our nation. I don't know all who read this post but I hope many do. The disaster that happened in the gulf coast may be the judgement of God on this country. I want to deal with three groups of people in this post today. Everyone that reads it will fall in to one of these groups of people today. America needs Revival we know this, our churches need revival we know this, but how many will agree and say they need revival. When you asked people how they are doing oh everything is fine in my life and most people are living outside the will of God.

I. THe Sinner
To those that are lost that may read this post it is time to wake up. The scripture tells us that life is but a vapor. We don't know if we have tomorrow. THe sad thing is many people intend to get saved and many think they have plenty of time, but as we see with the disaster breathing one minute death the next. Too many people in the church are playing with the Lord. They can fool the pastor, they can fool the church, and they can fool their family but they can not fool the Lord. If there is one thing that the disaster in our country should do it should make the sinner realize they need to get right with God.

II. The Backslider
Then in the church we have those that are saved but they live their life outside the will of God. THe Christian should want to stay in the will Of God. However many Christians are out of the will of God thus they are backslid. I believe it would amaze of us of how many of our church people are actually backslid. IF we are not closer to the Lord than any point in our life we are backslid. I know we fail the Lord but Our love for him should be so much greater than for anything in this world. For those that are saved in that disaster the only place those that have lost everything can do is turn to the Lord. It is time to to Wake up Church it is time for us to get close to our Lord again. We have been so blessed of God that we have taken it for granted.

III. Christian Right with God.
IF those that are saved and living right I believe it is time for us to also wake up. We need to stay right with God. We need to get as close to our Lord as possible. We don't know what may come with this disaster but we know as long as we are living right that the Lord will see us through. He will meet our needs and he will take care of us. But the reason I think it is time for us to wake up that is to those that are lost. We need to reach the lost. We must make this an important issue in our life. Jesus is coming soon and we need to do our best to get as many people the Gospel to give them that chance of trusting Christ. If they think the disaster in the Gulf was bad wait until they go through the tribulation. The charge to us as Christians from God is to give people the Hope of the Gospel.

In closing we don't know what this disaster really means to us. We don't know the future of our great country. We do know we serve a great God. We know he can take care of us. As Christians we need to pray more than ever that God for show mercy and longsuffering on this wicked country again. May the Lord bless you till next time

Open Rebuke

Proverbs 27:5
Open Rebuke is better than secret love.

Our topic today is something that is not talked about very often. The scripture tells that the preacher is to rebuke, reproof and to exhort with all longsuffering. The word rebuke means to chastise, point out, or to reproof. This is something that most people never practice in their lives. This verse so many times is just looked over but it really is a powerful verse in Bible.

I believe when we see someone in sin we are to rebuke them if they are a child of God. When we rebuke we must do it in a spirit of love and meekness. We must realize we could be doing the same thing. I have been rebuke before and though my flesh didn't like it. It was needful and I was able to get closer to my Lord as result of it. Remember our flesh craves doing wrong, it crave living carnal, and when we rebuke someone that flesh bows up and is ready to fight. Most of the time the phrase I hear alot is It is not your place to judge me. We are according the scripture if we see a brother overtaken in a fault restore them, before there is restoration most of the time there is rebuke. What we like doing is say we will pray for them to get right, and not say anything and just love them. When we don't rebuke and we know they are doing wrong we are committing a greater sin by not rebuking them. Rebuking is not fun when a person enjoys rebuking someone they need to get their heart right. I have had to rebuke people before. I have had to rebuke friends that weren't doing right and now they don't talk to me because I rebuked them. I have had to rebuke teenagers that were doing wrong and some loved me for rebuking them but some have not talked to me since. It pains my heart to lose friendships and to lose people in my life when I practiced a Biblical principle. I realize today that we are not in a popularity contest to see how many people we can get to like us. However we are in this life to help one another live for Christ. This is sometimes in answering questions, providing needs, or this thing of rebuking. In closing this is not a popular subject but it is needful. Whenever we rebuke it should hurt us in sense of having to do it, but we must do it. As a preacher of the Gospel the Lord gives messages for rebuke and these are some of the hardest messages to preach but it must be preached. A little thought from the heart. God Bless YOu till next time.

A Servant of Christ

Phil 1:1
Paul and Timothy the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi with the bishops and deacons.

I will again be short tonight. I was just sitting here and thinking about what Paul started some of his letters out with. He said he was a servant of Jesus Christ. Paul probably the greatest Christian in the Bible said this. I was thinking are we really servants of Christ. I was just thinking for a person to be a servant they must have a greater love for the Master than anything else in this world. Do we love Jesus more than any other. The bible says we either serve God, or mammon. Just a couple of thoughts on being a servant.
I. We must be Humble.
If there is one thing that I believe the Lord wants us to do in our lives that is is humble ourselves. To Many people are prideful. The only way God can use us is when we are humble. When we enter the throne room of Grace we must come humbly before the throne. Are you humble?

II. We must be Honoring.
We must bring honor and glory to our Savior in our daily lives. The bible tells us Whether therfore we eat or drink or whatsoever we do. do all to the Glory of God.
I. We must honor him in our habits.
II. We must honor him in our homes
III. We must honor him in our hearts.

III. We must be Helpful
Wherever you see Jesus he is trying to help people. There are many people crying out for help tonight. A servant helps others.
Souls Cry out for Help.
People are dying every second and meeting God in the judgment.
Sliders Cry Out for Help.
The backslider most of the time is crying out for Help. They may like living in the sin for a season but I believe they are always looking for away back to God.
Saints Cry Out for Help.
We need one another in the Body of Christ. We all need people that will rejoice with us, cry with us, and just be there for us. I believe this is being a servant.

Are we a servant tonight. After you read this really think about it. Because remember what Jesus said. Well done thou good and faithful servant. The greatest words we can hear when we get to heaven. God bless you till next time.

Prayer in Our Life

The Bible over and over tells us to pray. We can look at many passages of scripture and it says pray. I also know this is an area I really struggle in. I want to so much be a prayer warrior. THis is a desire of my heart. The men of old when they prayed they know how to get a hold of God. Sometimes I pray and I think the only thing I got a hold of was the ceiling. I am not saying I don't pray but I do not pray enough. The messages I got to heart on prayer from camp was for me. There are reasons we don't pray. I am not really going to give a big post but just something from the heart. I wish our young people in churches would get ahold of God when they pray. There are reasons we don't get prayer answered
Lack of Faith
Lack of Forgiveness
Lack of Fervency.
I know Faith is something I need more of in my life. Forgiveness I do alright with by the grace of God. Fervency I don't have a fervency most of the time when I pray. I do know this that for us to be what God wants us to be we have to be able to get a hold of heaven. When was the last time you got a hold of heaven. It is not the quantity of time, but the quality.
Now for the reason I posted this. If anyone has got a prayer request they would like for me to pray for please let me know. You can post it here or I know this can be dangerous but you can post at one of my email accounts. And by the Grace of God I will pray until God answers that prayer in you life. We need to pray for one another as children of God because we don't know what is around the corner in our life. May the Lord bless you until next time

Sitting at the Feet of Jesus

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part.
The story here is the story where Martha is working and working and Mary is at the feet of Jesus learning from Jesus. The Lord speaking here says that mary chose the needful thing.

As I write this post so many saved people have forgot the needful thing. We do so much of the Lord's work in the flesh and we wonder why we get so tired in our lives. We wonder why we get to the point where we are ready to quit on God. We probably have all been there but hopefully none of us in our heart have quit on God. We have to learn that we can not live this life in the energy of the flesh. THere are some things that happen when we sit on the feet of Jesus.

I. We have a Better Appreciation of the Savior.
One of the greatest myths that are baptist preachers preach in this country is the more I serve the closer I get to God. That is so false. I know there was a time in my life that I serve and I was probably the furthest I have ever been from God. When we sit and learn from the Lord what he done for us. We appreciate him more. We need to appreciate most of all for our Salvation, but we have much to brag on our Lord for. He gives us strength through the hardtimes. He gives us stability when we are falling apart. He is a great Savior. We must get to know him like Paul said in Phillipians 3. THe only way we do that is sitting at his feet.

II. We have a better Attitude toward Service.
What I mean is it seems like when we don't sit at his feet we get to a point where we have a poor attitude and people see it. THey see our poor attitude and we damage our testimony for Christ. WHen I sit at the Lord's feet it gives me the attitude of graditude and I want to serve my Lord the best I can. THe attitudes we get are the following.
We can get a selfish attitude.
We can get a sour attitude.
But the Lord wants us to have a spirit-filled attitude and the only way that happens is when I get to his feet and learn how to live that kind of life.

There is nothing wrong with a Child of God just stopping for a little while and sit at Jesus feet. As matter of fact I believe the only way we live a victorious Christian life is not by how much I do for my Savior but by how much time I spend at the Saviors feet. God bless you till next time
